to be honest, i thought it would be much worse - henry wouldn't wake up, everyone would be in a complete panic, something terrible would happen.
of course, what happened is very far from normal, but i still exhaled with relief.
the main thing is that henry is alive (not okay, but anyway!), and i don't care about other stuff.

i have a suggestion that we will get a classic flashback in university years, but in the form of some kind of hallucination of henry, who will through this finally understand his feelings, while in reality lanyon, rachel, jasper and the rest will think what to do.
i so want the chapter to end on some epic confrontation TM between jekyll and hyde, where on the last page they will then come through screams, tears to a more or less stable agreement after a real storm of emotions and experiences, and on this note the chapter will end 馃拃馃拃馃拃

okay, I think that everyone has already noticed the suits of cards on the collars, and therefore I also want to insert my word in here.
first of all, I googled the values, and they bother me now for "a little".
hearts in divination obviously symbolize sensual and emotional relationships with others, which is quite suitable for hyde.
diamonds, in turn, are associated with documentation, signing contracts and business transactions, which may suit henry, since he is responsible for the whole society, and generally tries to personify rationality.
but as for the spades, problems begin, because this is the most unfavorable and dangerous suit. its symbolize such things as destruction, tears, sadness and grief, and also loss of control over a rapidly developing situation.
to be honest, this is very alarming to me, and I'm starting to worry about poor lanyon, because I feel that something is coming.

Attention! Here I am foggy and very, very! subjectively, think about The Stanley parable from an emotional point of view, so everything described below is a personal experience, and nothing more.
In general, what I love with all my heart in the Stanley Parable is that when you play it, you can discard all the logical and illogical conventions of the plot and play the game at the level of sensations and feelings, and the whole picture of the endless action opens even wider and more detailed.
In fact, Ultra Deluxe is a direct continuation of the first part not only plot-wise. This can be understood by the way the Narrator interacts with Stanley - and he does it differently than in the first part, even somehow more carefully. If in the first part, the Narrator hated Stanley, and respected him, and laughed at him, and begged him, and their whole confrontation was like a roller coaster, then in Ultra Deluxe they had already gone through all these stages of accepting each other. They began to realize that they were dependent on each other, while in the first part this was denied (I will call the original game the first one, although this is not entirely correct). And to some extent they have accepted each other, accepted their roles and are trying to get everything they can out of them.
But, if the first part is emotionally still about the path to acceptance, awareness of balance in a relationship, then Ultra Deluxe is trying to figure out something else: is one person capable of sacrificing something for the sake of another? The Narrator treats Stanley with generous contempt in moments of realizing his power in the first part, sometimes condescendingly encouraging him. And in moments of weakness, the Narrator manipulates Stanley, trying to benefit only for himself due to his selfish, proud nature.
But in Ultra Deluxe, an unprecedented thing is happening, namely, the linearity of the plot and its consequences. I am now referring to the ending with the skip button, after which the Narrator changed due to the trauma. And speaking about the fact that the Narrator remembers what happened to him, I mean this, since it has already been proven and shown many times before that the narrator remembers various endings, but not all, of course. And Stanley remembers a lot of them, as he is a real character (I'll write a post about this later).
In general, Ultra Deluxe is a reinterpretation by the Narrator and Stanley of the relationship that reigns between them. The Narrator tries to improve, to do everything to smooth out the traumatism of past endings, even gives Stanley a bucket to calm down, which, of course, he regrets afterwards. Unfortunately, the Narrator is one of those people or creatures who need to lose something before they begin to appreciate it. So, the Narrator loses Stanley, remains alone, suffers, hates, and experiences so many emotions that he begins to understand the value of happiness, the value of his relationship with Stanley (by relationship I mean their interaction, since it does not look like friendship, love, or anything else).
The Narrator acquires empathy, therefore, having experienced such a trauma, like Stanley, he tries to correct himself, to ask for forgiveness.
He gives up the bucket, and this becomes a mistake, as the Narrator begins to feel lonely and abandoned again, as Stanley devotes all his attention to this subject.
And, since the Narrator cannot take the bucket away from Stanley due to the fact that he is afraid of losing what he has now (a kind of desperate paradox), he talks passively and aggressively, sarcastically reacts strangely, but no longer hates, and does not try to hurt.
But anger needs to be released somewhere, so the Narrator hates the cause of his problems - a bucket that can again make the Narrator stay alone. He is vividly jealous, trying to destroy his opponent, doing anything to be everything to Stanley again.
The Narrator longs for the past, wants constantly the feeling of nostalgia, collects these figures over and over again, and wants to return the first game, wants everything to be as before.
But it can't be the same as before, and Stanley understands this, even too well.
Perhaps he wants to move on, try new things, go where there are no boundaries.
And the Narrator holds it. Doesn't let it happen, doesn't let it go, doesn't let loneliness come back.
Therefore, in fact, the Narrator has not changed radically, only acquired several psychological traumas. Of course, he began to appreciate Stanley more. But did he begin to understand Stanley's desires, aspirations? I don't think so.
The epilogue suggests that we move on, do not depend on other people, do not care about other people's opinions, look forward proudly. That's the way to do it. Jt is a pity that the Narrator could not understand this.
For me, emotionally, this story is about relationships, toxic and codependent, which only do what they pull to the bottom. From such you need to run, look forward and in no case look back, no matter how painful it may be.

if the Stanley parable had been made in the early 2000s, it would definitely have been a little bit creepy and would have broken the fourth wall with windows frames for sure.
