Mrs Holmes smiled and stood, leading them into the living room. In there was a small wooden crib and a travel buggy. “I know they’re not much, you don’t have to take them, they were Mycie’s when he was a baby. It seems a shame to get rid of them.”

“I’ve heard of something like that before. My Aunt Merty had an unfaithful alpha,” Mr. Holmes offered. “She was never able to carry to term, although she was healthy. Her alpha died when she was in her thirties. She rebonded to my uncle and they managed to have children. Lots of them actually. It’s as if her body made up for the lost babies.”

Hey continued to eat in silence. If Sherlock hadn’t eaten a brownie before dinner it wouldn’t nearly be as silence, but Sherlock was currently too engrossed with feeding his munchies to make fun of Mycroft.
