Dallas Wings point guard Jacy Sheldon is making her way back to Ohio State — but this time, she’s joining the coaching staff.

Drafted No. 5 overall in the 2024 WNBA draft, Sheldon averaged 5.4 points and 2.5 assists in her rookie season and earned a starting spot with the Wings midway through the year. Now, she’s returning to her alma mater as the Director of Player Development for Ohio State’s women’s basketball program.

One of the most accomplished players in program history, Sheldon is one of only three Buckeyes to surpass 1,900 points, 400 rebounds, 350 assists, 200 steals, and 150 three-pointers.

Whoopi Goldberg recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to announce an exciting new venture: a global 24/7 television network dedicated entirely to women’s sports. The channel, named AWSN (All Women’s Sports Network), aims to showcase live women’s sports from around the world. Goldberg explained, “I’m launching the first global women’s sports channel...It will be the home for live women’s sports from around the world. Everything from soccer, basketball, tennis, cricket, curling, you name it; if a woman is playing it, we’re showing it.”

In collaboration with CommonSpirit, AWSN has already launched in Asia, the Middle East, and India. A U.S. launch announcement is expected soon, marking a significant milestone for Goldberg, who’s been nurturing this idea for 16 years. She hopes AWSN will elevate women’s sports to be viewed with the same enthusiasm and respect as men’s, particularly by young audiences
