In Spring/Summer 2018** I'll be cycling from London to Paris in aid of Thrombosis UK, and in memory of my dear mumma Charlotte. This blog is a jumble of thoughts/feelings/photos/training updates in the lead up to this terrifying challenge!

Made it to Paris and NOW EXCEEDED THE FUNDRAISING TARGET!!!!!! It honestly means so much to have achieved this target and to know that it'll be supporting the important work Thrombosis UK is doing. It's funny, thinking about my mum I'm not sure she would have been thrilled at the idea of me cycling all that way, often along main roads.... but I know she would have been proud ❤ and without your support and donations none of this would have happpened so from the bottom of my heart, thank you x https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/angecyclesl2p
Still had more in the tank so you guessed it we continued on from Saint Germain En Laye and WE MADE IT TO THE CENTRE OF PARIS! It was hard work and navigation was a nightmare but WE MADE IT!! LONDON TO PARIS IN 3 DAYS!!!!! Thank you, thank you everyone for your support - and please if you haven’t yet, do donate! https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/angecyclesl2p
Made it to Saint Germain-En-Laye! What you can see is La Musée d’Archaeologie National which is housed in a castle. Aaaand it’s a suburb of PARIS! 💃🏾🤩🙌🏾🎉🎉
Stopped for what turned out to be a long picnic break in Marines after a shop at CarreFour to get provisions... 73km down, 36km till St Germain En Laye! https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/angecyclesl2p
This gif by @lookhuman perfectly sums up the vibe this morning.... 👀 so we’re having a post-breakfast rest + review of the terrain profile/ cycle game plan session, which is soon to be complete.... and then we’ll get back in the saddle... 💪🏾 https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/angecyclesl2p
We’ve had some really nice cycling close to nature and away from cars today! First up was the undercliff path we took partway to Newhaven this morning, and most of the day since docking in Dieppe we’ve been following l’Avenue Verte, which is a lovely countryside path - that will eventually take us to Paris!
Distance-wise it’s been easier than yesterday so we kept the speed up - which was doubly good as it got us to the hotel in time to miss the first few drops of rain!
Most importantly, thank you everyone so so so much for the support. It been amazing!! And I’m SO THRILLED to announce that we’re now at way over £2300 raised for Thrombosis UK!!!! 😄😄💃🏾💃🏾💕
Skidded on a bit of mud and came off the bike :( Cycling lesson: approach mud as you would a puddle.... SLOWLY! 🙃🙈😳can you tell I’m an amateur? https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/angecyclesl2p
DAY 2!!! Following a rapid cycle from Brighton to Newhaven we’re now on the ferry tucking into breakfast no. 2! As you can see, Tobi is really feeling it after the early start 😂😂 https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/angecyclesl2p
Day 1 of our cycle to Paris = London to Brighton = DONE
Gearing up for an early start to catch a ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe tomorrow, there is one clear front runner for beautiful moment and definite HIGHLIGHT to share from today’s cycle....
VICTORY OVER DITCHLING BEACON!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🚴🏿♀️🚴🏿♀️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️
Major shout-out to the wonderful Cathy and Faycal for being such generous and welcoming hosts this evening💗
All in all it’s been a really positive start to the challenge.
Thanks everyone for the ongoing support. Stay tuned and donate here!
Having spent the afternoon cycling in the rain we were quite keen to get showered and eat etc. So apologies for the delay in confirming we made it safe! Summary blog coming later!
