Everyone has a cute sylvari. Everyone. Even if you don’t have one, your tree child is just chillin in the Dream waiting to be embraced by your love. So, in short, everyone has a cute sylvari.

Once in a while, for fun I’ll try out coloring without refining the sketch like I normally do, and 90% of the time I quickly realize this is a terrible mistake. The late hours frequently cause me to make questionable decisions.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. The quotation marks were meant to signal it's not my opinion. Rather, it was meant to show how someone else may argue. Looking back on it, my message was badly worded and didn't express the intention well. I'm sorry. The question I was meaning to express was: What arc would you have written/liked to see for Eir that has nothing or little to do with Braham?
Oh hey… I appreciate you coming back :o I get tired of being challenged on things like this so I come out the gate on the defensive, but alright, let’s take a step back and I’ll give you a more level answer.
First of all I have zero issue with Braham being a prominent part of Eir’s story. Making Eir a mom was sort of shoe-horned into the narrative to begin with, the least they could have done was actually do the concept justice instead of just using it to make a new character coveniently and automatically relevant, and then to feed him some extra man-pain. Eir struggled to find common ground with him, they were awkward and uncomfortable with each other, but they were JUST learning to see themselves in each other and how to communicate before HoT. They could have expanded on that, they could have had Braham actually LEARN from her instead of just mourning her. Hell, he could have even still become a dragonhunter. What’s better than mother/son bonding over weapons training during a life or death struggle in the wilderness? I have no problem whatsoever with Braham or with Eir The Mom, but it would have been nice if it seemed like Anet cared about that dynamic at all.
But again, Braham aside, Eir could have done so much. Here is a woman who feels like she’s moving past her prime, but she’s still determined to fight the elder dragon threat and save the damn world. She probably still carries some of that blame for the time that Destiny’s Edge lost, and then Rytlock disappears, and they choose to move without him. A familiar move, did she struggle with that? Did she blame herself for losing the others in the jungle? For failing once again to keep her only friends together and safe? I would have liked to see her surviving, struggling, not a passive captured plot device. What if she had been heading another camp of survivors, bound and determined not to lose anyone else, not to let anyone else die? What if people in her charge had been captured, and she had personally taken it upon herself to save them? We could have still reunited with her at the point we did, but she would have been on her feet, still fighting with all that righteous fury and determination. She could have been another ally, a source of experience and wisdom. She could have done ANYTHING other than just get trampled into the dirt, literally and figuratively.

I wonder, how would you have written Eir to keep her alive and relevant in her own right? She's a fulfilled character, her situation with Braham aside. 'Fulfilled' as in that she has completed her personal and overarching plot points and that there's not "anything else going for her" ( unlike say Logan, who is still relevant due to the Seraph and Jennah, Zojja due to the Council and possibly Taimi )
I’m honestly alarmed that you think it’s cool to kill someone off just because they’re character arc is “fulfilled” in some way?? Do we just murder everyone who stops being immediately useful to the narrative? Why couldn’t Eir have survived and been given time to bond with her goddamn estranged son and teach him to be a stronger, more mature and level-headed warrior? Why was her death the only way she could be useful to his character growth? And even leaving Braham out of it, is there some law that says characters only get one arc and then they die?? Guild wars 2 is supposed to have some grand world-spanning high fantasy plot and they couldn’t figure out a place for one badass bow-wielding mom who had finally reconciled her past demons, reconnected with her child, and got right the fuck back up to face the threat of loss, death, and destruction AGAIN??
#rebagle#wtf is wrong with people#Eir deserved better#her death was lazy writing#she got fridged for her sons man-pain

A WIP of Ushas. I’m struggling a little bit with the colours but I hope it ends well… I hate shading. Shading is evil.

my Secret Project came to fruition!!!!!
@awkwardarbor / @sylvan-heart had actually the worst 2015, and Guild Wars 2 was one of the things that helped her get through it. Because shenanigans, I managed to get a copy of her main toon’s model and got it 3D printed at Shapeways. (The tutorial I used can be found here.) I also used my limited jewelry-making skills to make her a commander tag, since she’s the only one in our small playgroup that has one.
Merry Christmas, Noel. Shine on you crazy diamond <>

I created a new, up to date BLingo card for anyone who is interested in (continuing) playing this! The old card was outdated, as roughly 10 items were no longer available and new ones had been added, so it was about time it was renewed. While the original card contained mostly unwanted items, the new one has a couple of items that would still be considered desirable, but none of them can be considered super valuable or top prizes.
What is BLingo? Nearly a year ago, I came up with BLingo, which is played with a card that contains the more common and less desirable loot you can get from a Black Lion Chest. While every item is useful, it’s way more exciting to get any of the nodes or permanent kits. BLingo was created to make getting common drops fun, too.
How to play BLingo: You can play BLingo with your friends, guildies, or just by yourself. Every time you open a Black Lion Chest, mark off the corresponding items on your card until you have a row, column or diagonal of five items completed. The Lion icon in the middle is a freebie. The first one who achieves this is the winner. If you have the old card partly filled in, you can carry over the marked off items that made it to the new card.
Hope you enjoy! c:

Shadows and Mist
What: Izar takes his first breath in an age of suffering and hope. When: Just after the beginning of Heart of Thorns Where: Verdant Brink How: T+ for violence, gore, body horror (mordrem). A bare minimum of spoilers. Why: I played a certain event chain for the first time and Izar reacted pretty intensely to it so I’m establishing him here. Also, there’s a charr chef fighting with nothing but her claws and a cast iron frying pan, so you should read it just for that. There is probably more to this but I’m not sure what yet.
