"Lucky, hm?" He looked to Leslie, a smile quirking one side of his mouth. Their lessons had been thorough enough for that to light a spark. 

He was prepared to say as much when Rune spoke. Charles hadn't been paying much attention to the time, but he'd hazard a guess that the mage's timing was spot on. "Clever trick. Your sphere is Entropy, correct?"

"Helene, yeah. She's one of them. Her husband's around here somewhere. He'll eventually make his way over here. You're a new face, so he'll sit in the booth and want your life story. Better make up something."

Sky smiled. “There’s no need for that. The most successful lies are simplified versions of the truth.”

I love my characters. I just love my characters. Sometimes I look at them and think about their stories and am filled with such emotion. Had to say it. Anyway.

He couldn't tell him why. That was a pretty revealing statement. He didn't know why... because he couldn't wrap his mind around it? Loved them, but not enough to follow into the great unknown. He wanted to pry even more, like a starving man with a tin can and a church key.

"We're about to slip down that hill about life and death and eternity. Let me save us. How you getting on with Olek?"

How could he give the witch an answer he did not possess, or that perhaps did not exist? How could he explain that familiars were creatures ruled by instinct, that what they felt was unknowable even to them?

Such a conversation was too vast and profound for a bar.

“Olek and I get along very well. We’ve become fast friends.”

Whenever I think of Olek as a sexual being I still do a double take, even though I wrote his relationship with Helena! And now he has a potential new boyfriend (*looks at Tangguo* @mournus) and I'm just like, 'Wow, ok get you some, Olek.'
