the french senate has voted so that no girl below the age of 18 can wear hijab or niqab in public and that no hijab-wearing muslim mothers can accompany children on school field trips. furthermore, the french government is moving to ban halal slaughter of poultry by july 2021 on the grounds this method of slaughter has been deemed “less humane” than standard french practice.

primarily white “feminists” who otherwise advocate for bodily autonomy have either been silent or explicitly supported the first piece of legislation. here is a change.org petition created to oppose the hijab/niqab ban. as a reminder, when you go to sign, do not select the option to donate: none of the funds go to the cause. when you’re signing, use numbers from 75001 to 75021 (french zip codes) because international/fake zip codes will invalidate your signature (via zhongsliang on twitter).

more scripting stuff :)

- youre in dada class and you’re doing patronus’

- you’ve had somewhat of a unhappy past, whether it’s mental health or an abusive family etc, so you find it hard to produce one. if you don’t like this option, maybe you just have a hard time producing it/you’re not very good at dada

- almost everyone has already done it, so you’ve sort of just given up. you’re nonchalant about it, but really it’s heavy on your mind that you’re just not happy enough

- one class, however, you manage to produce it. not in a flashy, fancy way (cough james cough), but whilst you were trying in the corner. you were thinking about everything you and *insert character* have been through. everything good, and out it springs. a great regal animal.

- on closer inspection, you realise you’ve seen that animal patronus before

- it’s the same as *insert dr soulmate*’s

- you quickly stop casting the spell, but not soon enough, because the person you’re matching with is staring at you, jaw slack, whilst everyone else around you is doing their own thing

- when your eyes meet, everyone else disappears. inside you’re panicking, but you just can’t seem to say or do anything.

- youre an animagus, and you and *insert marauder* sneak out to hogsmeade

- from hogsmeade, you apparate to muggle london

- if you’re muggleborn/half blood, you show them everything. if they’re muggleborn/halfblood, they show you everything. if you’re both purebloods, you explore everything together

- you buy disposable phones (those little ones from pre 00’s)

- you go to cinemas and eat too much popcorn

- you hire a car (for extra spice, the guy can be suspicious about your ages so you use a confondus charm to convince him you’re old enough) and blast music loud down the streets

- you make a muggle friend that you keep in touch with (your very own grant chapman)

- bonus: you go to bars and clubs and restaurants and sing your throats raw before you guys have to send a patronus back to an other marauder to come and pick you up because you’re too sleepy (or drunk if you’re of age). the patronus is so easy to produce because you’re so happy

i’m not great at this shifting thing, but if you want to shift to the marauders, i think this would be really fun for you to script :)

- it’s late, and the 5 of you are pulling a prank

- but you see filch coming towards you on the map and you run for your lives

- whilst your running, the rain starts getting heavier and you split up to try and find the closest entrance to indoors without getting caught

- three go one way, but you and *insert marauder* go the other way. you’re both stood gasping for breath in the entrance hall, soaking wet with rain, clinging to each other to stay standing whilst laughing your arses off

- something clicks when you look at each other

- *insert dramatic music*
