Dr. Andrew Charlton, who spoke to Australia at the United Nations Copenhagen Climate Conference, has composed another book tending to the worldwide atmosphere challenge. Charlton says that the two difficulties confronting the world are neediness and atmosphere change, and they are inseparably connected. In Man Made World, Andrew Charlton examines the tradeoff between these goals: progress versus planet; rich versus poor.

Here’s an extended excerpt of Morrison’s pre-released remarks ahead of today’s speech:
Our first priority for budget repair remains controlling growth in expenditure. It is not sustainable for Australia to continue financing our recurrent expenditure by borrowings.
Australians understanding taking out a mortgage to pay for their home is a wise investment for their future. But they also know that…

Andrew Charlton: The Dragon’s Tail
Andrew Charlton is an economist and writer, who has written or co-written several books and numerous articles. He is the author, with Nobel Prize-winning author Joseph E. Stiglitz, of Fair Trade for All, and of Ozonomics: Inside the Myth of Australia’s Economic Superheroes.
Andrew Charlton is also the author of Dragon’s Tail: The Lucky Country After the China Boom, in which he shows that the economic growth of China is reaching its limit and is facing an uncertain future. The fate of the world’s most populous nation and its economy will have a dramatic impact on Australia and the foundations of its wealth. Andrew Charlton says that Australia must find a way to revitalize its economy and secure its prosperity.
“Understanding China’s growth model helps explain why Australia has done so well in the twenty-first century,” he writes. “But it also explains why, at the same time, our economic anxiety is reaching a zenith: why Holden is leaving, why the budget is in such an apparent quagmire, why house prices are soaring, why the dollar is so volatile. China’s growth has brought us a windfall, but it is a precarious sort of prosperity.”
Andrew Charlton attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, and received a doctorate in Economics. He also attended the University of Sydney. He was a Research fellow at London School of Economics, and a Consultant to the United Nations, a General Manager at Wesfarmers, and an Associate at the Boston Consulting Group. He also served as a Senior Advisor to former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
