Just a psa for fic writers who use the “trauma bond” tag, please make sure you’re using it correctly. A trauma bond is not two people who experience similar trauma and bond over it. It’s a carefully curated, manipulative bond between abuser and victim to keep the victim coming back because of the addictive highs and lows that come with abuse.

If you want to tag two characters bonding over shared trauma, a good substitute tag would be “bonding over shared trauma.” Trauma bonding is, by definition, an abusive relationship and may steer people who have experienced it away from your fic. Please spread the word and happy writing!

Where is your favorite Dragon Age place? Do you have a favorite romance?

Mine would have to be Skyhold just because all our friends are there and it's home. My spouse and I have played all the romances in Inquisition and I love them all sooooo very much that I couldn't choose a favorite and I just wish you could romance every last one of them at the same time.

I've actually only played Inquisition all the way through (oops) and every time I start Origins, life gets in the way and I unfortunately never end up finishing it. Cullen's always been a favorite of mine because I love his growth in Inquisition, especially if you pair him with a mage inquisitor. I've always been curious about Solas (yes, I know, Sollavelen hell), Bull, and Sera though.

As far as places, I do love Skyhold because like you said, it feel like home, and I think Haven for similar reasons. I'm weirdly emotionally attached to the Hinterlands as well, just because I think that's the first place you go outside of the home base in game and the people there kind of feel like a big melting pot, very similar to where I grew up.
