I love the dynamic of one character being an obnoxious twat and the other giving absolutely nothing in response, refusing to feed the troll until it drives the first character mental.

Motswolo did this beautifully with Sirius and Regulus in TCOPTP and it lives rent free in my head. Knowing that Regulus’s internal monologue must be unhinged, but never seeing it in the moment? Brilliant!
