From 2009 to 2011 was a struggle, but I am proud to say that without those trials and tribulations, we wouldn't be where we are today. This blog is dedicated to my husband, my best friend, my sailor, and the beginning to our beautiful marriage. II.X.MMXII

The life of a military wife
It's not an easy task and it's not the life I would have chosen for myself. But the simple fact is, I love him and the military just so happens to be a part of the package. When he's home, we're counting down the days until he leaves out to sea and when he's gone, we're counting down the days until he is home again. It's a cycle that as a military wife, I have to deal with; there's no ifs, ands, or buts. It's a definite must. No, I don't get used to the separation. If anything, it becomes a heart-wrenching routine because there's always that possibility that he won't come back. In a sense, it does get a little easier as the weeks go by, but there are always the bad days where I refuse to leave my home and those days are typically the weekends. Keeping busy and staying positive are the two most vital functions and without either one, the day becomes slow and depressing. Birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays become a hit or "we'll celebrate all of them when you come home". Then when those days come, I become envious of everyone around me even though most of them take advantage of the time they have with the person they're with. Bottom line, everything, big or small, became a sacrifice that I made to be with the love of my life.

I have the BABY fever!
It's funny 'cause I always said that I never wanted kids. Mainly because I've just never envisioned them in my life. I always came up with reasons as to why I'd be an unfit mother because of how my mother raised me or at least attempted to every now and then. With every stage a child goes through from birth until adulthood, I found at least one negative thought that would convince me that I was meant to only have FURbabies. It wasn't until recently that this topic came up with a couple of friends of mine and all of a sudden, everything I felt about having kids before were suddenly irrelevant. I clearly did not feel the same. I'm not sure what it is in the air, but I'm ready to start my little family.

I never thought this could ever happen.
I lost my bridal set. Either it's somewhere hidden under the floor boards of my apartment or I accidentally threw it away when I was in the midst of cooking last night. I thank God that my husband is an understanding man 'cause He knows how guilty I feel. I also thank my husband for getting me a new wedding band. Although I don't have the "engagement" ring to pair it with, it's beautiful as is and it expresses how deep my husband's love and commitment is to me. Either that or he just wants people to know I belong to someone, haha. But of course, I don't mind that at all<3 Getting another "engagement" ring is next on our list, however, 'cause yeah, every wife just needs one :3

Just goes to show us that even when our loved ones walk out the door for a “non.deployed” day of work, they are still in constant danger. Prayers go out to all the family and friends involved. And to all those who love and support a military member, give thanks they’re still in your life and give them a big hug
