The problem is that America has beaten down its people for decades and gotten them weak and desperate and now promises a way out, a way to transcend and rise above, through selling out their fellow man. They encourage contempt and hatred as one way ticket to not being included with the masses being death marched to poverty or whatever other bitter end surely awaits the people theyâre told are beneath them. An embarrassingly large chunk of white men are just straight up nazis these days as a way to dissociate from the rest of the carnage around them, even if theyâre broke and uneducated and from an impoverished background themselves. Theyâll vote for and align themselves with anything for a taste of power and control that makes them feel a little less helpless. The same goes for minorities. Theyâll punch down if they think itâll get them somewhere, even if in reality theyâre punching sideways. I donât know what else to say, really. Everybody is so incredibly hateful. We are a loveless, disrespectful nation. We are so spread thin by our government that we would sell each other out in a heartbeat for an ounce of relief. This is what weâve come to.
Itâs not even about Trump at this point. Heâs gonna get in office and do whatever he does and itâs gonna be a mess but whatever. This is indicative of deeper problem. This is just the ugly consequence of the already present reality in this country that we all just despise each other. There is no solidarity and there is no love. Trump being in office or not doesnât change the fact that America is a breeding ground for violent hatred. Trump has given people a shining example of how to give in to the worst parts of your human nature and make it the problem of everyone around them. I donât even know what weâre supposed to do about that. I donât know if thatâs something we can come back from. And if anything COULD be done about it, Trump certainly wouldnât do it. Honestly, Kamala probably wouldnât have either. We are so deeply fucked.
However, I must say, if you voted for Trump, I hope that peace never finds you. Instead, I hope clarity strikes you someday like a clap of lightning and you have to live the rest of your life with the knowledge and guilt of what youâve done and who you are as a person.
Love yall. Shit is so bleak but the world keeps spinning until it doesnât, I guess. We canât count on the government for literally even a shred of progress or hope so just keep up the good fight in your own personal lives. Thatâs literally the only thing to be done at this point. Stay safe out there. Maybe buy a gun.

many of us do. it's difficult not to succumb to the feeling of not being able to do something and being completely helpless. and while it's true that individually none of us can change the world, we do have the power together to make an impact, especially on the lives of individual people around us.
instead of succumbing to feelings of doom and despair about the election, the climate, or any other ongoing crises, please consider donating to ibrahim. that is a real way to have a real impact on someone's life.
ibrahim is only 15 and is trying to raise funds to not just help him and his family escape the genocide, but also to survive in the current conditions. he has been displaced and exposed to countless horrors time and time again. the least we can do is attempt to help him.
please, if you can: match my donation of âŹ10. if you can't spare that, spare âŹ5 or even âŹ1. if you really have nothing to give, share this post. don't turn away from suffering. this is your chance to do something.

no matter whether you think voting is very important for protecting the right to protest, or a tacit approval of the US government actions and inactions, or anything in between, we can all agree that what is most important right now is to directly help the people of Gaza.
no matter the result of the election today, my friend Hala @hala-15 will be displaced in Egypt with her young son Abdul Aziz. Abdul Aziz was born with a condition called hirschsprung's disease, in which the nerves in the colon do not form properly. Children with hirschsprung's disease are not able to pass waste, and can die from terrible blockages in their intestines.
Abdul Aziz needs surgery to remove the affected part of his colon so that he can poop. voting or not voting will not help him. what will help him is if we can raise money for Hala to pay for his surgeries. Hala had raised almost 500 euro on gofundme, when gofundme did a massive purge of Palestinian fundraiser, and Hala's account was deleted with no warning, and all the money was returned to donors.
If you have already donated, or if you are seeing this for the first time, please send your donations to Hala's paypal account. Hala's blog @hala-15 has pictures in arabic and in english of Abdul Aziz, and of his medical records. her story has been independently verified by @90-ghost. No matter how you feel about voting, Hala still needs help, and every donation, even just one euro, will help her pay for Abdul Aziz's surgeries.

i really can't emphasize how heartbreaking it is that the recent harassment campaign against @/90-ghost (among others; see: 1, 2, 3) has led to well-meaning people telling others not to listen to him. he is one of the most visible survivors of the genocide here on tumblr. his entire journey of escape is so well documented! and yet, it only took a few people confidently pointing fingers to create an entire witch hunt accusing him and other palestinians of being disreputable scammers and liars.
i can't help but feel like the reason why people were SO eager to believe those accusations, is because it was uncomfortable to see posts from palestinians every day asking for our time, attention, money, and support; so when someone presented the perfect excuse to ignore all those posts and asks while also taking the high ground, people just LEAPED onto it. they wanted to believe it, because it would be more comfortable.
honestly, i understand feeling overwhelmed by bad news, by the number of asks and messages in your inbox, and so on and so forth. i understand needing to set boundaries for yourself so you don't get burned out. i think this is really when you have to have a set of principles to fall back on, even when you're tired, uncomfortable, angry, and/or sad. so here's the one i suggest, which has been working for me best: don't make your discomfort with this situation into someone else's problem, and for god's sake don't make it a public problem.
if you hate seeing fundraiser posts or news about gaza, i can't emphasize this enough, JUST MOVE ON. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND SCROLL PAST! all you have to do is absolutely nothing. which is what you were doing anyway, so it shouldn't be hard. if you don't have the heart to read, or reblog, or share, or donate, or support in other ways, at the very least, don't obstruct the efforts of people who ARE trying to make a difference. this is, quite literally, the least you can do.

another campaign brought to my attention by a palestinian i speak personally with, and i trust its legitamcy. Hamdy has suffered great loss since the start of this genocide, his mother, aunt, siblings, cousins, neices and nephews, and 5 month old sister were martyred. despite making the campaign months ago, Hamdy has only received FIVE donations so far, and hasn't gotten any donations in months.
please share and donate to his campaign, no amount is too little!

if you're cringing at the genre conventions of the genre you are writing in then why the hell are you writing in it. either have something substantial to say about those conventions or shut the hell up! i will not cringe alongside you at superhero powers and spaceship battles and big eldritch worms and bone magic. i came to this story to SEE that shit and I don't appreciate it when an author tries to pretend they're above the very things they're selling themselves on

god. its really frustrating the way internet virality works. everyone who sees success can only do so at the expense of others.
both shahed and shaima+mohammed (wafaa's siblings) were the initial targets of the recent wave of scam allegations, yet only shahed's gofundme was spread and received support as a result. maybe this is because and shaima and mohammed are slightly older, more traditional people who can't work the internet as well, maybe because they were less willing to share the intimate details of their pain online. maybe it's plain luck. either way its pretty shitty that only one person received the proper support after all that abuse, and that everyone else is being ignored.
since shahed reached her goal i want to redirect all of our righteous anger and empathy toward some of the other palestinians who were primarily targeted by this hate campaign. many of the campaigns on this list are stagnating in the amount of donations they recieve, despite the amount of attention they've received lately. of course, everyone here is vetted by either 90-ghost or el-shab-hussein:
shaima and mohammed @wafans-blog, who was accused of being a scam for having the same organizer as shahed, even though that is very common with gofundmes. [verification]
mahmoud balousha @helpfamily, who was targeted by one of the biggest blogs on this website and likened to a porn account. [verification]
amira alanqar @amira-world , who was targeted by some arrogant bitch who thought they knew better than actual palestinians how to vet a fundraiser and who also claimed that there was no point in donating to palestinians because evacuations are uncommon. [verification]
basel ayyad @basel-1995, whose posting habits were scrutinized to an inhuman degree as an excuse to dehumanize him. [verification] (he has been vetted twice!)
basel's cousin fadi ayyad. [verification]
heba al anqar @heba-baker, who was accused of being part of a belgian botnet because of her surname. [verification]
ahmed and abdulrahman al-nabih @ahmedalnabeeh11, who were accused of scamming for having relatives with chronic illnesses during a genocide. [verification]
and of course:
omar saad, ahmed @/90-ghost's brother, who is still in khan yunis with his family. ahmed, our sole vetter for a while, has gone through immeasurable abuse in the past week and we all owe it to him as people who have benefited from his labor to take one burden off his shoulders. [verification]
