Sama-sama sa Distansya | GlobePH
youtube
One of the most powerful lessons of quarantine is that isolation does not have to equal loneliness. Technology provides numerous options for connecting with the people we care about. We can reconnect with friends we haven't seen in a while and chat with family from worldwide. Other than that, we can socialize while socially isolating ourselves, collaborate with coworkers via screens, and make donations with only a few touches on our phones. Make our presence known without leaving the house.
Globe remains determined to work alongside Filipinos in this struggle. They aid us in delivering messages of hope, as seen through the video that shows support and faith that we will all withstand this crisis. The video advertisement is about the "pain" that Filipinos are going through. While social and physical distance may assist in flattening the curve, it also keeps families and loved ones away. The commercial demonstrates how Filipinos continue to help one another and become a part of the communities to which they belong.
The commercial is for anyone affected by the pandemic, whether front-line or not, who is optimistic about the future. Everyone wishes the outbreak would end - Our friends and family bonding, expressing love and worry, exchanging stories, working out, dancing, laughing, and crying together, albeit virtually. "While we go through this crisis together, Globe will do everything it can to provide uninterrupted connectivity, especially during these times," Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu assure consumers.
Hence, there was no form of Media Manipulation present in the advertisement, given the fact that the service Globe provides benefits the users, and according to GlobePH (2020), since the start of the ECQ, Globe has been helping its customers with different solutions, from free access to COVID-19 hotlines and government websites, free WiFi in hospitals, quarantine facilities, and even groceries.

Dove: Courage is Beautiful
youtube
Up to this day, Dove celebrates healthcare heroes and raises awareness about the significance of frequent hand washing. The brand produced an encouraging video of healthcare heroes at work, and the photos are remarkable. The brief commercial, "Courage is Beautiful," depicts American doctors and nurses wearing scrubs and protective gear like masks and goggles perched on their necks and heads. The commercial encourages viewers to wash their hands for 20 seconds and declares, "We don't care which soap you use. We care that you care. For you. And for all."
Dove is well-known for its body-positive Real Beauty campaign, but this advertisement redefines beauty and courage. They are not the only ones displaying the "battle scars" many doctors and nurses have acquired due to the coronavirus pandemic. On the other hand, Dove went straight for the heart with its Courage Is Beautiful campaign, which expresses gratitude to healthcare staff who work hard on the front lines to aid COVID-19 patients. The first commercial is remarkable in its simplicity, flashing the faces of nurses and doctors who must wear safety gear regularly. The advertisements first aired in Canada and are now broadcasted in the United States.
Due to the publicity factor, the personal care brand company also announced that they have made a $2 million grant to the nonprofit Direct Relief, which financed PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), ventilators, and medicine, for front-line healthcare workers. Dove also worked with the foundation to donate personal care products, including 200,000 face masks, to New Jersey infirmaries, where the company is based.
With that, no forms of Media Manipulation were present in the advertisement. It was made to encourage and enlighten the people and improve their view of the term "beautiful" by recognizing the courageous front liners and healthcare workers. As the brand states, "Taking care of ourselves and each other and staying safe are important messages we all need to reinforce. It's essential to show the world that care can significantly impact."
