My greatest writing regret is that Gaster canonically talks Like That, and I don't have the brain space or mental fortitude to write a whole fic of it.

Like yeah, maybe he's evil...or maybe he's afflicted with 'vernacular/grammatical pattern of a living jump scare' in an otherwise very friendly and non-violent person, and God that's just so fucking funny to me.

I just found out McKrakens 2nd form was suppose to be in Yo-kai Watch 4 BUT HE WAS CUTTTTTT

At least I know now they were planning to add him.. Idk I just assumed they forgot about him somehow or like weren't planning to to all, still sad about it tho cuz he's one of my favs :(

tweaked maddiman’s horror au design the tiniest bit. i wanted to keep the whole two-toned face thing and was heavily inspired by the mayor from anbc because ummmm. because i think it’s cool. im probably not done tweaking the design (or the others’ designs) but its a start

I'm looking at McKraken's wiki rn and I noticed they didn't have a favorite food listed for his befriendable form in ykw4? Even if you can't give them items/food during their fights, usually befriendable forms (like slimamander, hinozall, etc) get one. Does anyone know what it is so either they or I can add it? I play ykw 4, but I don't have 1 for switch so I wouldn't be able to fight/befriend him =u=

Also, roughly machine translated a bit of his flavor text from the mckraken tag thing in ykw4 and it's. Kinda dumb that this isn't present day mckraken...After they went and set up his and Dame Deartime's half assed redemption in 3 too....But anyways!!

if you didn't then too bad, here's another one :-)

i think a lot about the fact that we never see mckraken use the restoration attribute...it makes sense because he never really has a reason to do it. he's a boss yokai, so he's always alone in combat, so he can't really do anything with restoration that he couldn't already do with drain

but i wonder sometimes if he actually knows how to heal. it would make sense if he does and we just haven't seen it, since he knows how to use all the other attributes just fine

but i think it would be way more interesting if he doesn't know it. restoration is the only attribute that can't harm opponents in any way, and mckraken as a character is. inherently very destructive lol

so maybe he didn't care to master it like he did all the other attributes. as someone whose goals are primarily set on destruction, especially as a yokai strong enough to fight without backup, maybe he couldn't see any benefit in learning to harness something that couldn't hurt his enemies

alternatively, maybe that destructive nature just means that he genuinely Can't Do It, even if he wants to. maybe healing takes a degree of gentleness that he's just not capable of - at least, not as we see him in the mainline.

this would have some fun implications when it comes to a potential redemption arc [ if level5 had dedicated more than 2 minutes to that idea in ykw3 ]

for one thing, i think it would be a really interesting bit of character development to have someone so deadset on destruction finally learn to repair and create as well, and understand the merit of having those skills

and i also just think it would be neat to see mckraken with access to the whole range of attributes...total elemental mastery in a world where most people struggle to even control two sounds like a pretty impressive feat
