This misinformation drives me wild, especially the pedo allegations. I'd also like to add on a few things.

The Mad Hatter is never addressed as the Mad Hatter in the book. He is simply called the Hatter.

2. The "Why is a raven like a writing desk" riddle never had a real answer. Many people had clever responses to it, but Carroll confirmed that it was nothing more than just silly nonsense.

3. The Queen of Hearts and the Red Queen are NOT THE SAME CHARACTER! This one drives me nuts. It's very telling when someone says they're a fan of AiW but never read the actual books when they mix the two up. The Queen of Hearts is a childishly angry monarch who will order others to be decapitated at the drop of a hat. The Red Queen is a chess piece from the sequel book, Through the Looking Glass, and is a cold, strict ruler. I know some people whine about the animated Disney film giving the Queen of Hearts some of the Red Queen's lines, but she only has a few of them right when she meets Alice. I personally think they made the character more dynamic and it's my depiction of her. If we wanna talk about my LEAST favorite interpretation and something ACTUALLY deserves the blame for this mix up is that horrible amalgamation from those atrocious Tim Burton live action monstrosities. All the charm is removed and all the awful bits are so much more intense that it makes the character impossible to like.

29. What’s one thing you want people who are unfamiliar with Alice to know?

Three things actually:

1. Alice in Wonderland is not about drugs. A popular theory among Internet edge-lords. Just because something is surreal and imaginative does not mean it was made on drugs or about drugs.

2. Alice in Wonderland is not a dark story. It is very clearly a story for children, although adults can appreciate it as well. I remember a classmate claiming that the original book was not for children at all. Utter nonsense, as Alice would say.

3. Lewis Carroll was NOT a pedophile. This is by far the nastiest rumor associated with Alice, and I wish people would stop repeating it. Thankfully, Alice fans (such as @still-she-haunts-me-phantomwise) have written informative posts to dispel this myth.

4. The Alice books are, most of all, fun to read. They're very charming and whimsical, but they don't condescend to children. Also, don't get too caught up in trying to figure out what it all really means. Part of the fun of these books is that you can approach them analytically from many different angles. I don't believe there is one exact interpretation to draw from them, so have fun coming to your own conclusions!

he's so interesting to me there's so much symbolizm in this one aaaaaa the lil connection between Donny's blood and the sea is intentional. both because of the promise that if he keeps supoorting the "wrong side" the sea will run red with his blood, but also because half his bloodline died in the sea , generational curse you see , but also ALSO the whole "eye for an eye" bullshit Scallywag kept going on with every crew she has a personal beef with.

What are you planning on working on next?

Oh, let's see... Well, I've had an idea for a several months now. I rarely ever create fan characters, but on the slim chance I do, I try to make them fit into the universe as much as possible. That being said, the next piece will be another AiW fic, but I think it will be some time until its available. I wanna take care of a few things first, like creating a proper ref of said character (I already have the design in mind), but I may start it ahead of time to get a rough idea where I want the story to go.

The summary will be like this:

In which Alice encounters a bizarre individual who insists on meeting the Queen of Hearts. Despite Alice's many warnings, the stranger sneaks into the hedge maze anyway.

Ok i finished the first page of that disney thing and I'm gonna post it here bc i want feedback (also it's literally fanart of this fanfic, i did not come up with this dialogue lmao)

first off i know this is formatted terribly lol, i have always drawn my self indulgent comics like this bc i normally draw on paper and it saves space, and since I'm not posting them, I'm never worried about readability, so i do apologise for how tiny the top row is (that's why i replaced my handwriting with text)

what i want to know is, are the pictures too small? is it annoying having to zoom in to read each panel? I'll change how i format the rest of the pages so they're easier to read and understand, but should i retroactively change this first page, too? Or is this format completely fine, and im overthinking things as per usual? any other feedback is welcome, too ;^^

Well, there goes Bill! I didn't realize his design in Alice in Wonderland (upper left) is slightly different from his appearance in The Great Mouse Detective (upper right). The bottom one was an experiment to combine the two since I like them both. Oh, and that piece of paper he's reading is a flyer to join Ratigan's crew.
