well it was more that she knows i've always been more manly and she knows i'm vaguely genderqueer, but had never seen me in a binder and was just curious where it was going since the last convo we've had about my gender was like 2 years ago probably lmao

i just had a half-assed conversation about gender with my mom cuz she noticed me wearing a binder

i say it was half-assed because i felt myself building a safe little wall around myself to protect me and only giving vague answers which is dumb as hell cuz my mom is literally one of the most supportive people in my life. i'm just scared to say anything because then it becomes real and like, what if it's a phase. i'm not saying being trans is a phase i know it doesn't work like that but what if i, specifically me, is just an idiot going thru a phase. then i'll have said a bunch of stuff and i'd have to go "oh lol nevermind"
