This summer, I get a 30-day paid sabbatical from work. At my most extravagant, I wanted to go to Japan for 30 days. But with new businesses & real life happening around me, I needed to stay closer to home. So I decided to check a bucket list item off my list — Travel the @elcaminotejas trail from Laredo to Nacogdoches … solo. Like a Texas Cheryl Strayed, but hopeful with less drama, I want to do the journey myself. To go at my own pace. Be bored with my own mind. And hopefully discover lessons about myself and my state I never knew. Enter: my truck tent. It was my first test of the journey. If I could set it up myself then I could go. Building a practice takes patience & persistence. In October, I hit 60 days of yoga, then the holidays happened & my practice ended. But today I’m happy to say I picked myself back up, committed myself yet again & hit that first milestone I strive for — 60 days. Day 3: PGA merchandise show with @ogringolf & @sharonogrin — I got to meet a ton of my dads friends and got lots of SWAG. (This was the real reason we came to Orlando. Day 1: Magic Kingdom. We went ahead and bought Genie+ and ended up never waiting longer than 30 minutes for anything. We walked around the park (almost) twice. Saw the parade twice. Detour on the way home to Point of Rocks Roadside Park, halfway between Valentine and Ft. Davis. Brian’s grandpa brought him here every summer, so he wanted to stop and pay tribute on our way home. While he climbed the rocks, I did some yoga on the rocks and thorns. I ended up mostly just sitting and feeling the cool desert air on my skin. I love it our here. More than anywhere.
