âI hope theyâre to your liking then! Grain cakes I feel are the most filling!â
With Rei seemingly ready to follow, Adaman turned so he may lead the way back into the settlement. He had it all planned out in his head, so that nothing could go wrongâ
Crush the Hearty Grains into a fine dust, mix it thoroughly into the cake-base, set it on a slab, wait for it to bake, once itâs done, carefully remove and then let it cool, then enjoy!
Adaman was so excited for this, he hadnât realized he was leading with a quick paceâ and his long legs allowed him to cover a lot of ground with fewer steps!
âIf you can make my least favorite flavor of cake tolerable enough to eat completely, I just know these Grain cakes are going to be the best of the best!â He couldnât help but laugh as he started moving at a light jog pace to even keep up with the taller man, heâd never seen him this excited for something before! He couldnât stop himself from feeling a bit excited for it too, even if it was just a lure cake! âI hope you know though, if they become my favorite itâs going to be your fault when they suddenly vanish from the settlement!â
#Rei to the future (Rei)#multibunmuses#//He's freaking adorable! X3#//Look at him go! Like an excited puppy!

It was times like this he was grateful Adaman wasnât one to pry to hard into things. He certainly felt embarrassed by his sudden reaction to hide what heâd been drawing but thankfully it was erased. Nothing to worry about now.
He could feel the heat leaving his face as he gave the clan leader a somewhat nervous smile in return before speaking.
âAhaha, right, okay letâs go then. I was beginning to feel a bit peckish anyways. Iâm looking forward to trying these grain cakes of yours.âÂ
@amusinglyhellishâ: continued from [X]
Oh? Whatâs this? Adaman actually managed to startle the time-traveler? He hadnât been anticipating thatâŠ
Nor had he been anticipating Rei to scratch out whatever it was he was drawing on the ground and stand over it like someone protecting a child.
It was something Rei wanted to hide, and Adaman was going to let him keep his secrets. He just gives the shorter man a smile.
âIf I was noisy, I wouldnât be able to sneak up on the PokĂ©mon now could I? Not that I was intentionally trying to startle youââ It was entirely unintentional and he feels a bit bad for doing it. âCome along then! Iâve got all the stuff ready to make it back at the settlement.â

Adaman: Alright Rei, I'm about to make some grain cakes! Want to join me? :D
Rei normally was an alert individual...always listening to whoever or whatever could sneak up on him at a moments notice. Unfortunately he was a bit too preoccupied with a doodle he was drawing in the dirt with a stick after growing bored waiting on Adaman to finish his Leader duties. He hadn't been in the open when making the drawing and it wasn't like it was vulgar or anything but it was a bit embarrassing considering it had something to do with the man in question. He'd almost finished writing the words before Adaman's voice made him squeak and quickly scribble everything out with the stick then kick at the dirt to completely destroy the remains of the drawing! He then stood up, making sure to stand over the scratchy mess just to be extra safe.
"A-Adaman! Haha, I didn't hear you approach!" He coughed to clear his throat a little before he laughed somewhat nervously. "You're ready now? A-about time...I'd um, love to join you."

Oh! He seemed to have enjoyed all of them! Seeing the joyful expressions on his face, almost in pure awe, and the exclamations of delight! Adaman could feel warmth in his chestâ and now he was a little saddened he hadnât made any grain cakes for Rei to tryâ
âOh no, not too much trouble at all. Would you like me to go and make them for you now?â
This was one of those days where Adaman didnât have any⊠pressing matters to attend to. Yes, always keeping an eye on the Clan and how the people are doing, but nothing needing him. The Wardens are all doing well, as are the Nobles theyâre looking after. Their food and medical supplies are well stocked. No one from the Pearl Clan or Galaxy Team require any sort of meeting with him.
For the most partâ he had time in which he could do as he pleased.
Though a mental note is made that Rei doesnât particularly like mushroomsâŠ
With beans being his favorite, heâs going to have to make special trips to Cobalt Coastlands just to gather some of the Plump Beans. Which is fine, Adaman doesnât mind. Theyâre the darker brown ones, right?
âŠ.Â
At least the cakes are the darker brown ones, anyways.
âI am glad that you liked them though, even the mushroom one. I wonât make the mushroom ones anymore, at least not for your consumption. Iâll stick to the bean cakes.â
Rei finished the mushroom cake before wiping his hands together, removing the left over bits off his fingers and palms.Â
âIt doesnât have to be now, but I wouldnât mind having a few grain ones to try as I noticed theyâre your favorite. They must be something special.â He did help himself to another bean cake though. âThese little gems right here are to die for, Iâd come here every day just to have these for lunch.â He took a bite out of it before leaning against the tree trunk behind him. âIf you really want to make some for me to try, may I watch while you do?â It was always nice to spend time with Adaman, especially when he wasnât rushing about worrying about wasting time. These little moments where they could just have a pleasant chat or enjoy each otherâs company made the trip all the way to the Crimson Mirelands worth it.Â

âI did, but itâs not that big a deal. You do so much for others, I figured this would be a nice little âthank youâ gesture in return.â
Still though, hearing Rei being thankful of the cakes made his chest swell. He quite enjoyed seeing that smile upon the time-travelerâs face! Even though it might be a bit of trouble to get some of the ingredients, perhaps he can still make it workâ
âTry some of the others I have, tell me which one is your favorite.â
Which one can he make more of for Rei?
âI donât have any of the grain cakes thoughâ I can go and make some, if youâd like to try it as well?â
Rei popped the last of the bean cake into his mouth before humming in delight, it was probably his favorite flavored cake as it somewhat reminded him of home. Well, home before he was sucked into Hisui.
âMm.~ Bean cakes are my absolute favorite.â He admitted, grabbing a salt cake next. He swallowed the green delicacy before nibbling on the salt cake. a satisfyingly crunch could be heard as his teeth broke through to the filling. âOoh, thatâs pretty good too!â He chipmunked the rest of the salt one in his cheek before taking the mushroom one. He held onto it for a short while, a lot longer than the others before taking a bite of it...only to look surprised by the flavor. âHm!â Well he really wasnât expecting that! He didnât entirely hate this flavor for once. âOkay...wow, I wasnât expecting that to taste good! Not because you made it or anything but...I donât usually like the taste of mushrooms but itâs hardly that offensive! If Iâd had it blindfolded I would have never guessed this was a mushroom cake.â He took another bite of it after swallowing the salt cake that he had been hording in his cheek as a chaser, looks like he wouldnât need it after all. âMm, if you can mushrooms taste this nice then Iâd love to try the grains next time. That is if it isnât too much trouble for you.âÂ

âMmhm.â He nodded as he finished chewing the honey cake, quickly sucking the remainder of the sweet pastry off his index finger before taking a bite out of the bean cake.Â
âMmph, so...what Iâm hearing is,â He swallowed, figuring it be best not to talk with his mouth full not only because it was rude but also because he didnât want to choke. âYou went though all of that trouble to make these for me...?â He couldnât help but to feel a bit honored, besides his twin sister there werenât a lot of people willing to inconvenience themselves to do something nice for him. Heck normally it was the other way around. For some reason it made him feel...well special! Even though he knew he shouldnât feel that way, Adaman was probably just being considerate after ll. âI have to say Ada thatâs really sweet of you, I might even like these better than potato mochi.â
@amusinglyhellishâ: continued from [X]
âI did!â Such display of confidence and excitement. Normally Adaman isnât one to bake, and certainly not ones that arenât grain cakes. Grain cakes were his favorite after allâ but he wanted to present Rei with a variety, to see which one he would take!
That being thought thoughâ Adaman didnât take into account that he couldnât really tell them all apart⊠aside from the honey cake⊠and the obvious grain cake.
âIt took me a little while to find the honey though⊠and the mushrooms⊠and I had to visit the Cobalt Coastland to get the beans. Getting the crunchy salt was a pain too. Iâm thinking I should stick to honey and hearty grain, a little less of a hassle on them.â

Adaman: (here he is staring at a bowl full of different flavors of cake treats. None of them are grain cakes though.) Rei, would you like one?
Rei perked up at the offer, his head tilting slightly out of curiosity. "Ah, well...I am a bit hungry right now so. Yes please!" He took one of the honey cakes and took a bite out of it, a delighted squeak being heard from him.
"Mm!~ These are really good, Ada! Did you make them yourself?" He took another bite of it before picking up a bean cake as well, lightly licking his lips.

Well now! Where did this sassy attitude come from? Got to say, itâs thrilling listening to Rei speak in such a manner. Adaman lightly tilts his head to the side, still stroking the top of Leafeonâs head.
âOh, the whacking wonât be necessary. If you can complete the PokĂ©dex for the Crimson Mirelands, I will gladly learn and study everything you have to offer so that I may pass the information on to the rest of my Clan so that they no longer fear the PokĂ©mon around us.â
To lead the Clan into fearless endeavors, to allow them to explore to their hearts content and not have to worry about potentially being harmed in the processâ that is a future Adaman would love to see for his people. Knowledge is power, after allâ and the time spent learning will be time well spent.
Feeling such determination from his companion, Leafeon stood up on all four paws and began to purr. His eyes closed in contentment, nuzzling his head against Adamanâs hips.
âFeee~!!â
Rei giggled a little before beaming in delight. âThen weâve got ourselves a deal then! Iâm looking forward to seeing the Clan grow towards the future. And Iâm really looking forward to seeing you take care of the itchy curiosity youâre failing to hide. It looks good on you, being so inquisitive.â âFiani!!â Yuma trilled, doing a little gleeful hop.Â

On behalf of the Time Variance Authority, I hereby arrest you for crimes against the Sacred Timeline.
"Crimes against the Sacred Timeline, huh? Well if you want to arrest anyone, arrest the Volo bastard or his satanic worm for that. It's not like I asked to be Isekai'd into this timeline. I'm just making the best out of strange situation." He took a bite of his potato mochi before continuing, "And besides, the statue of limitation on my crime should be long since forgotten as I've been here several years at this point and you're only now coming to me. I have better things to be doing than sitting in dusty cell I can easily escape from within an hour." "So it would be in your best interest to move along stranger."

Who gave this little bugger âold manâ words of wisdom? This sort of wise talk sounds like something his grandfather would say, aside from it all being PokĂ©mon related. Which was the main issue right nowâ
âWhile thatâs all true, youâre forgetting one major issue that weâre struggling withâŠâ A hand went down to the head of his Leafeon, gently petting the top of his companionâs head. âIs that most people are afraid of PokĂ©mon, they wouldnât be willing to accept help from them. I wish for that to not be the case, but it is.â
Leafeon gave a soft âFeeâ, his ears lowering a bit.
âI would like to find methods of trade with PokĂ©mon, I would like to coexist with them, but I donât think thatâs in the current realm of possibility for us⊠not in the present moment of time. Perhaps soon, when more is known about the PokĂ©mon themselves and the PokĂ©dex is closer to being completed. When that sort of knowledge can be shared with everyone, lessening their fears of the unknown.â
Aha, so thatâs where his main gripes lie.Â
âI see. Well then I guess Iâll need to step up my game a little. If fear is whatâs keeping things stagnant Iâll make sure every PokĂ©mon who reside in the Crimson Mireland is documented in the PokeDex. That way people can read about and familiarize themselves with the PokĂ©mon who also call this place their home.â He grinned at the thought of such a challenge, knowing full well heâd already completed the entire areaâs research but heâd yet to perfect it! Now that would be his goal for the next few months. âIf I can bring it to you, youâd have no other excuses to not go out there and learn until your hearts content. Your Clan will grow with you especially if you lead the way into the change you want.â He then glanced down at Leafeon and smiled. âAnd if he tries to back out of it, please give him a good whack with your leaves for me, okay?â

Adaman was a bit taken back, as he wasnât expecting that sort of response. It had him quiet for a moment as he thought it over. Technically in a sense, no⊠itâs not time wasted if heâs spending it doing things he likes or enjoys. He would encourage others to do the same.
To be able to spend hours with Pokémon, just watching them⊠learning about them⊠learning from them⊠and perhaps learning the answer that for some reason stuck in his mind, where do Pokémon come from?
âŠâŠ
âWhile you do have a point, I have my responsibilities to tend to⊠and I canât shirk them to go do whatever it is I please. Taking care of the Diamond Clan is my main priority, I just donât have the time to spend countless hours to spend on whatever I desire to do. You, on the other hand, do. Itâs part of your job while in the Survey Corps. To learn about PokĂ©mon and to help the professor out in filling the PokĂ©dex⊠to make it so that humans and Pokemon can coexist together without strife.â
âI suppose thatâs fair but consider this Oâ Diamond Clan Leader. Wouldnât it be beneficial for the Diamond Clan to have positive relations with the PokĂ©mon around the settlement? Would it not be beneficial for you to know more about the PokĂ©mon who share this land with you to perhaps one day create trades between humans and PokĂ©mon?â âPokĂ©mon are smarter than many would like to give them credit for, they are different to us in many ways but some share a community and space with each other the same as we do, willing to learn to live with and protect each other in this vast changing world.â âI would go so far as to say, theyâre better equip to out thrive all of the clans due to their knowledge that we as humans are just now realizing. Perhaps starting to bridge the gap between us and them would be not only beneficial for my cause but yours and Iridaâs as well. You may not have to invest as much time as I have but maybe think about how the Clan could thrive with the knowledge and assistance of PokĂ©mon. Could you honestly say your shirking your responsibilities then?â

âSecond to know, mm? The first being yourself, or first being the professor?â
Logically it would be the professor. After all, Rei is helping him out with filling out the PokĂ©dex, it would make sense that Rei would tell Professor Laventon first. Then again, itâs not like itâs a necessity to knowâ it doesnât really benefit the Diamond clan⊠or does it?
âŠ..
âI would assume it would be the as with humans. Though Iâm not sure where evolution would lay in all of it⊠it leaves a lot of questions on the offspring⊠and what about Alpha PokĂ©mon? Is that a genetic feature orâ? It turns the wheels in the mind. Though itâs best not to dwell on questions that donât have quick answers, I donât have time to be running around and figuring it out.â
âThe professor of course. Heâd want to know the ins and outs of everything if I were to figure out the mystery of where PokĂ©mon come from.âÂ
He could see the vast curiosity that Adaman tended to have hidden away. He had to admit it was endearing and...maybe a bit cute seeing how invested was in figuring out more about the PokĂ©mon he shared a planet with. But of course he always claimed he never had time for such things. Amazing how a guy who always rushed about to make up for lost time never had time to spare when it came to his own wants and needs. âAda, havenât you ever considered that life isnât always about quick answers? There is always time to learn more about the things youâre passionate about, quick or drawn out as long as you enjoy what youâre doing with your time can you truly say itâs been wasted?â

Oh, so thatâs a question that not even the future has figured out yet. Guess the future doesnât know everything about PokĂ©mon just yet. While itâs something heâs curious to know about, itâs not something he wishes to seek out.Â
He has a clan to look after, he doesnât need to be concerning himself with PokĂ©mon reproduction.
âWonât be in my lifetime it seems, which is a little unfortunate. Iâm not the only one curious, and if it hasnât been discovered in your future, then maybe itâs not something humans are meant to know.â
Leafeon watched quietly as Yuma ate the rest of the offered berry. He meandered back to Adamanâs side, sitting there and waiting patiently.
âYes most likely. We can always theorize however based on our own knowledge of reproduction. PokĂ©mon are very interesting creatures.â Itâs a bit interesting how they got such a topic but heâs grateful it isnât getting too intimate with details. Maybe on Adamanâs death bed heâll give him a mind blowing revelations but for now itâs best to keep quiet. âIf I figure it out, youâll be the second to know. I promise.â Couldnât leave the professor out of discoveries like that. Heâs never forgive him.

The clan could always use more medicinal herbs. With the members occasionally getting harmed by the Pokémon nearby, one can never have too many medicinal herbs! Adaman steps closer and takes the pouches offered to him.
âThank you very much, Iâll be sure that these will go to good use.â The pouches are placed within his own satchel.
SubomieâŠ? Adaman was aware that Rei referred to PokĂ©mon by alternate names, and sometimes it took context clues to understand which ones he would be referring to. A Pokemon related to Roserade, the shy ones, born this season, which obviously would mean Budew.Â
âWith new Pokemon being born, it leaves me curious on how theyâre born⊠itâs not something humans have ever seen before.â
Oran berry! Leafeon happily closed the gap between him and Yuma, opening his maw and taking a bite of the berry offered. He did, however, only take a bite of it and let the rest fall to the ground. Chewing upon the mouthful, he lowered his head and poked and nudged the berry with his nose. Didnât seem like he was going to eat the rest of it.
Ah yes, the age old question of where the PokĂ©mon come from. Being from a time where this question was answered was a bit of a blessing and a curse. And yet he didnât think heâd have to heart to tell Adaman how or where they came from as itâd probably paint him as delusional. Best to feint ignorance. âI have wondered that myself sometimes. Itâs pretty interesting to think about what causes them to reproduce and how. Perhaps weâll find out one day.â One day waaaaaay into the future hopefully. Yuma blinked before finishing off his berry, figuring Leafeon wasnât all that hungry.

âFee!â Leafeon nuzzles into Reiâs hand as he was pet. Bright brown eyes watch as the time-traveler stands, trotting back to stand at Adamanâs side once more. He nudges his head into Adamanâs hand, to obtain more pets.
Adaman doesnât hesitate in giving his companion head pets! He listens in silence as Rei explains, though it thoroughly confuses him. Roseradeâ bouquet?Â
âA Roseradeâs bouquet, huh?â Heâs going to pretend he knows what Rei is talking about. âWhat a kind thing for him to do. If youâre offering, I donât mind taking some of it back for my clan. Iâm sure they would appreciate the added supplies. How is Roseradeâs bouquet doing, mm? Growing healthy?â
âGreat, I hope I can find a bit more things while Iâm out and about. Just in case you need some more medicinal herbs as well.â He sifted through his satchel and pulled out a few pouches of berries and herbs, holding them out to the Clan Leader. Yuma reached two of his feelers into his trainers pouch to grab two Oran berries from it, he kept one for himself before holding out the other to his fellow Eevolution, a sweet smile similar to that of his partnerâs appearing on his nuzzle. âFiia!~â âYes theyâre all quite healthy, in fact I saw there were a few new Subomie around the territory. Theyâre a bit shy so they must have been born this season! It was very exciting to see the bouquet thriving.â

A praise! Not that he was looking for Reiâs approval of his puns, but hearing it brought a smile to his face nonetheless. Seeing the time-traveler stand with his Sylveon, the Clan leader could only vaguely gesture to his own Pokemon.
âLeafon sensed you nearby and wanted to come say âhelloâ.âÂ
Said Pokemon gave a soft âFeeeâ in response, dancing a little in place with an excited expression on his face.
âThough I have to ask why you are on the outskirts of my clan. On a mission perhaps, with that unique phone of yourâs?â
âAh, did he now?â Reiâs attention was soon brought to the grass type, a warm smile appearing as he knelt to pet the Leafeonâs cheek. âKonnichiwa Leafia, how are you, my friend? Your leaves are looking as lush as ever, the weather must have been very kind to you these past few days!â He stood straight yet again, resting a hand on his hip as he glanced over towards the Cloudpool Ridge. âSomething like that yes, I was just finishing a little research on Roserade and his bouquet. He was so happy to see me again he gave me a bunch of berries and herbs for my departure and I figured Iâd stop by to see if youâd like some? I can barely carry these in my satchel.â

âHa! Choco-late, now thatâs more like it!â He slipped his phone into his satchel before pushing himself up to stand. Yuma did the same, his feelers wrapping around his trainer as he chirped happily. âMay I ask what brings sir no waster of time here on the outskirts of his clans borders? Surely it isnât just to make small talk and weak puns?â He inquired, a teasing tone dancing throughout his voice.
