Freddie Mercury
'I wont be a rockstar, I will be a legend'
This day brings about so many emotions, some being that in the short time that I have began this journey from first listening to queen songs to delving deeper into your world, I have learnt so much. You taught me so many things about myself that I didn't even know, you gave me courage to not be scared to be myself and fight past every tribulations that come my way. Your lyrics and songs spoke to me in a way that I'll never be able to describe. Your spirit is very much alive and you bring joy to the whole world with your music even now, 30 years later. Even though your gone, your closer than ever.
You are such an inspiration to me and so many people, you did everything on your own terms and you were so strong and determined. You were brave and you fought back. You didn't deserve what happened in the end and we all wish that we could have you back and hear you sing all of your beautiful songs once again. Everyone misses you, your band members, your family, your friends and the whole world, but your legacy shines on. I hope you know how loved you are and were, how your music influenced a whole new generation and more to come and how your story has helped fight against this terrible disease.
I hope that your resting peacefully up there with the cats and your husband and dont forget that all of us down here will never forget you. Today is a day of celebration of the beautiful life that you led and the legacy that you leave behind. We love you Freddie.

alright i Promised myself i wouldn’t talk about borhap for the sake of my mental health but i Have To fucking say this…
jim hutton has been treated like shit since day one of it all
since freddie died, since mary moved into garden lodge, since he wrote mercury and me, since the movie started production… he’s been treated like a stepped on piece of gum by more casual queen fans since day one.
he’s gotten constant shit for writing mercury and me and telling the true story of what happened after freddie died.. people hate him for it under idiotic reasons. he’s always been treated like a partner who “won’t be able to live up to mary, the true love of freddie’s life” which is horseshit, and borhap did nothing to help that
yes the reception of jim has been taken fairly well by the incoming queen fans but the way he was treated in the movie is kind of bullshit. reduced down to a waiter that got his ass grabbed by his “boss”.. while im totally biased when i say i enjoyed every scene, i also acknowledge the fact that their relationship was Severely underdeveloped. they moved around the timeline to have them meet in 1980 only for him to fuck off for 5 years, aka the day of live aid. why? what’s the point? why not just have them meet in 85 if you were gonna treat their relationship like it was nothing
he’s Always been treated like some throwaway partner freddie had for One Main reason: homophobia. plain and simple. people can’t handle the fact that freddie was happily in love with a man. that’s why mary is Always favored over jim. treated like some saint whereas jim is treated like he didn’t mean anything to freddie. they were the love of each other’s lives. they wore wedding rings, went on vacations, called each other their husband, laughed together, lived together, loved together. jim was Right There when freddie died. he is the Furthest thing from any of freddie’s throwaway partners. and it makes me angry to see someone treat one of the closest people to freddie like this

It was extremely sexy of Jim to ensure homophobes could never fully erase him and his loving partnership with Freddie by being brave enough to be a HIV+ gay man who published his memoir about his relationship with a man in 1994

I actually did a version of this last year, but I redrew it because I’ve improved since then. I figured I’d post it now in celebration of reaching 400 followers on instagram, and in light of the recent interview where Brian said he’d tell Freddie he loves him :(
