“Thanks,” he tipped his head, accepting the glass, “Do you visit often?” Amos inquired, not taking the hint. As per usual.

“Drink more water. That ought to help.” She said, passing him her glass of water. “My family is nice. They’re very kind and caring people.” She replied, leaving it at that.

“Surprised. I mean, I figure everyone likes to have fun. Even you sometimes,”

“Oh? Then what word would you use? Please, enlighten me.”

“I don’t think relieved would be quite the word I’d use,”

Gwen scoffed at his question, rolling her eyes and shaking her head before saying, “I would expect you to already know the answer to that question. But if you must know, then fine. I didn’t go. And everyone seems to be quite relieved that I didn’t show my face there.”

Amos cocked an eyebrow at her statement, and she definitely wasn’t wrong in feeling so, “Mmph, if I’d have known my head was going to hurt this much, I’d have just stayed in the dorms,” he admitted, “What’s your family like?” Amos asked out of the blue, even surprising himself. 

“It’s quite alright.” Daisy was tempted to tell him the full truth, but alas, she couldn’t. Not yet. “Yes, thank you for asking.” She glanced around the room at the mostly hungover students. “I think I’m sort of glad I missed out.”

“That it would,” Amos agreed, drinking from his glass once more, “So, tell me -- too cool for last night’s party?” he asked in attempts to make conversation. Amos has never been good at talking with Slytherins, the hostile ones at least. He wasn’t sure which side Gwen fell onto yet. And that just confused him even more.

Gwen looked over at him and raised her brows before saying, “Everyone’s hungover. And you’re eating a lot, and you look like somebody killed your puppy. It’s pretty obvious.” She shrugged at him, crossing her legs and looking away. “Not that I blame you, it’s not like I’ve never been hungover before. It’d be hypocritical of me to judge,” she said, surprising herself by how civil she was being towards the Hufflepuff.

“Hey,” Amos held his hands up feigning innocence as he chuckled, “I have absolutely no problem with not hurting Daisy. I’d say the same to you but, I think that pretty much goes without saying at this point,”

“Good. Because if you hurt Daisy, I would have to kill you.” Fabian laughed, even if he was only half joking. He would kill anyone just for dating a friend of his, but if someone had hurt Daisy and then happened to have an accident where they fell off a broom - coincidences were a funny thing.

would you rather date daisy or lucinda?

Daisy, of course. Lucinda is gorgeous -- don’t get me wrong -- but, so is Daisy. And, I’ve known her for years.

Top three people you love and top three people you hate?

I can tell you right now that I love my parents more than anything in the world. Amazing people they are to the wizarding world, and all I want is to make them proud, yes? Yes. Do they count as two? Crap, I, uh, I’m just going to count them as one. Next, has got to be my cousin, Marlene. She may be a pain in the ass but, she’s my pain in the ass. And, of course, Dorcas. You’d think I’d stop loving her the minute she walked away from me on that platform, right? Wrong. Uh, Ted. We’re basically betrothed, so there’s that. 

As for hate I’m going to cut the whole “hate is a strong word” bullshit, I’d start my list off with Voldemort…I think that is a clean cut answer. Self-explanatory. Blood-purists as a whole. Again, self-explanatory. The entirety of the Chudley Canons. Ruddy quidditch team, they are.

Most attractive male and female of every house?

Gryffindor: I’d say Dorcas but, unless she hears about this and attempts to hunt me (or my guitar) down – I’m going to say Alice. Adorable bird, she is. For a bloke, I’m going to have to go with Gideon Prewett. 

Hufflepuff: Well, when it comes to Hufflepuff, I have to stay true Ted Tonks. We’re going to run off into the sunset together someday – it’s going to be lovely. And Daisy Hookum. Interesting kind of girl, you know? Sees things the way other people don’t, or choose not to. 

Slytherin: Pfft, Lucinda Talkalot, as if it’s even a debate? And I’m not on best terms with most Slytherin guys but, Lucius is alright?

Ravenclaw: Edgar Bones. Merlin, I answered that a bit too quickly, didn’t I? Well, he’s on the Quidditch team, he’s a little socially awkward, and if you look closely his jaw line is a little uneven. What’s not to love? And definitely Pandora Ellis. Though, I don’t talk to her much.

“Oh. Okay. Sorry for prying,” he said, taking a bite from a piece of toast, “Make it back safe?”

“I…um…” Daisy muttered, trying to find a good excuse. “I asked Dumbledore, my uh, family was there. I wanted to just say hi.”

“I didn’t know we were allowed to go to Hogsmeade this early in the year,” Amos stated, sounding far more accusatory than he’d intended.

“I wasn’t with Pomfrey.” She replied, stuffing more scrambled eggs into her mouth. “I went to Hogsmeade, just for fun. Though it’s nice of you to say that.”

“Me and Daisy?” He was hoping Fabian didn’t mean Marlene. Amos shook his head at the Ravenclaw, “Not since the last time I checked,”

“Yeah that’s uh… weird.” He nodded, shrugging his shoulder. Down the table, Marlene waved to him and he gave a curt nod back before turning his attention back to Amos. “Are you and her.. together?”
