Anyway Yui isn’t in a club BUT she’s sorta considered an unofficial member to some of them. She just pops by whenever she can!

🏖️ shore’s celebration outfit 🎉

Yes, I am 100% aware it’s weeks before the actual event drops but 🙂‍↕️ I’m so hype for it that I started doodling and ended up with a design I’m pretty happy with. Can’t say I’m satisfied with the colors (it’s way too much compared to what the canon characters are wearing), but I guess I can claim “it works for her specifically” because usually Miss Raven’s outfits stand out from the others in some way. This is to help signify that she’s from “outside the story” or is an oddity at NRC.

I pulled inspiration from both Ariel and Ursula (well, Vanessa). The hair shape is inspired by both Vanessa's waves and the general silhouette of Ariel's. The big bow in the back is similar to the one Ariel wears on her date with Eric. You can't see it from the front, but the bow is secured with a golden clasp in the shape of the tiara on Ariel’s wedding dress look.

Raven's earrings are the same shape as Ursula's, and she wears a golden spiral shell necklace similar to Ursula's as well. The difference is that Raven's is on a string of pearls (similar to Rook’s). I wanted to incorporate a lot of pearls, which is why you'll see it beading her big hair bow (forming a pseudo-fish scale design) and dotting her skirt. The coral bracelet on her right hand also has pearls (like Riddle’s), and the silver ring on her left hand has pearls too. The pearl ring is actually a callback to an ancient post when a Jade roleplayer gifted Miss Raven a promise ring.

I originally also wanted to give her an oyster and pearl corsage, but then I realized Malleus already had one 😅 so I skipped it… It was probably for the best, it might have made her top look too crowded.

Her dress is a combination of Ariel's shipwreck dress and Vanessa's normal outfit, wedding dress, and the live action Vanessa's doll. There is netting incorporated into her big bow, as well as a rope-like ribbon securing her center. The pattern on the hem of her dress also resembles netting, but doubles in creating the illusion of mermaid scales. I also gave her wedges with straps that resemble rope. The shape of the dress is very close to Vanessa's wedding dress, save for a few added ruffles. The topmost layer of her skirt opens in the middle and is bunched off to resemble a mermaid's tail. She also has a removable violet cloak, similar to what Vanessa wore on her first appearance along the seashore. I thought it was a good reference to include, and it suits Raven's character since she tends to be mostly covered up. (The dress is strapless!)

The colors are inspired by Ariel's green tail, purple seashell bra (+ Vanessa's dress), and red hair. Again, probably too colorful of a look compared to the canon characters, but I think it makes her stand out in a good(ish) way.

Jade and Riddle’s suits are mostly black, while Malleus and Rook’s looks are white/cream with black accents. Miss Raven can be the other extreme for the group (mostly cream/white and with a lot more color), ie the “light” to the dark. It suits her www

Sorry if this has been asked before but considering that Nyoka is a Egyptian Cobra who can be nocturnal or crepuscular, does he pull all nighters from time to time?

He’s definitely more comfortable and active during the evening + night hours, but he’s at NRC so all-nighters are not really prudent. If he’s not in class going through the motions he mostly stays within his dorm room out of sight and out of the way in those hours, or in some deep part of the library since barely any students congregate there to begin with.

You know I honestly think that after some time, when AJ and Riddle are doing their normal study sessions, that Riddle had developed a habit of gaining AJ's attention by grabbing them by their choker

Like I'm justing imagining they're in his room studying (because it's the place they won't be disturbed, cough thanks Floyd cough) and it goes-

Riddle: *Droning on about some sort of magic theory that's in AJ's next test*

AJ: *Slowly losing focus and day dreaming about something*

Riddle: *Notices immediately and grabs them by their choker* Pay attention AJ

AJ: !?!?!?!?! Sorry!!

Though I'm not sure if Riddle would do it in a more public setting, mainly because he would know it would look...more intimate. But that makes me think of possibly the one time he did it (not counting their first encounter if we make that manga edit canon) it happen in front of a lot of Heartslabyul during an Unbirthday party. My god the humiliation dhekjff, definitely how the dorm began to be rosejewel shippers

Amethyst Jewel (Aka AJ or Yuuna)

Background

Amethyst was your average person that had no direction in their life, always floating between groups and interests. They never really saw much value in the world around, what with it becoming worse as time went by, but they tried to stay positive. But that all came to a head when the ebony carriage abducted (this is what they say, as all they remember is falling asleep at home before waking up in the coffin) and whisked them to Twisted Wonderland. This caused them to almost have a panic attack because they’ve never left home (or more forced to leave home) without a family member. But once they became a student, they felt more secure in their position and now try their best to keep their grades up so they won’t be kicked out by Crowley (as much as he says he wouldn’t, they don’t trust his words).

Most students refer to them as “Yuuna”, a name that developed over time. As Crowley had put them as “Yuu” and male on their student file for the sake of keeping the fact the carriage made two mistakes (and also to protect them, as he would “graciously” put it). Though as time went on it became more so an open secret within the school, which led to the name “Yuu” turning into “Yuuna”. But those that are closer to Amethyst typically call them by their name, or their initials “AJ” as a nickname (these people being the main cast and staff in private, who also had silently formed a “protection club” for them).

Notable Relationships

-Grim

While Amethyst was irritated by Grim at first (and still is at times), over the course of the story the two grew such a tight bond and possibly can't live without the other. This is clear whenever Amethyst mentions bringing Grim along with them home, or what the two will do when they graduate together. Though Amethyst is more open about this than Grim, it's clear to everyone how the cat feels whenever the prefect has to leave for a small period of time.

-Riddle

Amethyst was deftly afraid of Riddle at first since it was clear the male had talent for something they had no chance of doing. This didn’t help when they became acutely aware of his tyranny in his dorm, and especially when he first overblotted. Though as they were forced to witness his memories at his defeat (something they keep secret from even Grim), and see his improvement they began to try to form a friendship with the dorm leader. 

Part of their plan for friendship was to ask him for help with their studies, since they knew he would be able to help even with subjects they have actual problems with. While at first most of their attempts were rejected, soon the two’s study sessions had turned into something close to study dates. Though neither are willing to try and reach for a deeper connection for fear of rejection, as the two are oblivious to the other’s mutual feelings. But everyone else is clued in on it, it’s even to the point that most of Heartslabyul has a secret bet going on who will confess first or if anyone will confess at all. 

-Vil

This was another dorm leader that Amethyst was afraid of approaching, though they hardly had a choice when the man had noticed their roots showing and practically forced them into Pomefiore for the sake of helping them re-dye their roots. This had led to the prefect developing a small crush on the man and willing go to Vil for help as they are a bit clueless on all things past basic hair and skin care (even though they hardly listen to him as he tries to make them do more than they deem necessary, which they absolutely hate being forced to do). Though this is a rare occasion as they are too nervous to bother him, so a common interaction is Vil approaching them and telling them to meet him at his dorm on a certain day. Or if he truly is too busy, tell them to ask Rook, who is extremely happy to help (a little too happy for Amethyst).

Though what caused their dynamic to change was during the course of preparation for VDC, as it caused Vil to see more of the different sides of Amethyst than he was used to. Which led to him appreciating their oddities more than he thought he would, something that Rook was glad to point out. Though Vil wasn’t able to fully realize what he was beginning to feel because of his overblot, afterwards is when it began to hit him that he had grown a fondness for the prefect. Which Amethyst is completely oblivious to, as they take his more tough love as annoyance than hidden affection.

-Malleus

Though Amethyst was frightened at first when the fae prince appeared before them, mainly because they were able to recognize he was a fae, the two had developed a fast friendship. Though while the prefect didn’t fully know who they were interacting with, they still were as polite as they could because of the stories they’ve heard from their own world. But they soon relaxed once the fae prince had told them to speak freely with him, allowing themselves to speak more openly about their worries and fears over their situation. Which made Malleus the only other person, besides for Grim or Crowley of course, that knew the full extent of the secrets Amethyst was keeping during the beginning of their first year at NRC.

This has allowed the two’s bond to rapidly grow into the close friendship they have, where the two allow the one to be open with the other. So it isn’t too much of a shock or surprise that some small romantic feelings would arise from their deep conversations, though neither have realized it.

-Ace

While the two had a rocky start, what with Amethyst straight up punching Ace in the jaw when he tried insulting them for their lack of magic (something they didn’t care about, it was more so the audacity of the male to try and insult them and Grim), and the constant bickering they had during the night at Dwarves Mine. But it came to a head when Amethyst had broken down in front of him, Deuce, and Grim about their otherworldly and unwanted situation that caused them to bond into the friendship they have now.

Nowadays it’s a common sight to see the group bickering, but especially with Ace and Amethyst at each other’s throats. Though their back and forth is more playful than most realize. But to a keen eye it is easy to see how fake Ace’s jabs are due to the hidden fondness he began to hold for the prefect. One he refuses to ever admit to.

-Floyd

When Amethyst had first interacted with Floyd, they weren’t afraid of him at all. They had actually found him cute, until their deal with Azul. Then they truly saw how others were terrified of him, making them avoid the eel as much as possible. Though that barely worked thanks to the male’s weird fascination with the prefect. Over time that fear dissipated into a strange friendship where Amethyst just takes the rough affection and squeezes from Floyd with a blank face. In fact they had secretly loved the male’s squeezes, mainly due to being touch starved since they were in actuality a very touchy person that’s too scared to touch anyone in NRC.

Trivia

-Most people assume Amethyst wears a binder to keep up their secret, when in actuality they had already been wearing one for awhile. Though they kept it on for longer than intended thanks to keeping up with their appearance. Though on weekends, or off days really, they rarely wear it.

-Continuing from the first one, this had led to a shock amongst several students when it turned out that Amethyst was…well let’s just say they experience more back pain than they would like.

-Because of Crowley’s low budget, they make it a habit to take several shifts at Monstro Lounge for the extra cash. Though they know that’s what caused their secret to be more open than intended, as their uniform has a skirt, but by that point no one really cared.

-They don’t really understand Floyd’s nickname for them, “Shrimpy”, because they know their pink hair isn’t the right kind of pink for shrimp. But they don’t voice this and just let Floyd be happy, not realizing that their ahoges look like blue shrimp when they're scared.

-While a part of them wants to accept, they routinely refuse any gifts from Kalim. Mainly because they feel uncomfortable being given expensive gifts randomly, especially if it’s something they’re not asking for. Though they almost did when he offered to buy them a whole new wardrobe of clothes in any style they wanted, it’s a dream of theirs to have a gothic or alt style closet.

-It’s actually a common sight to see them drinking ice coffee in the morning, though the one time Ace tried it he almost spat it out from how sugary sweet it was. Turns out a good portion in their budget goes to buying sweeteners for their coffee.

-During the beginning of the school year they tried to keep their cursing to a minimum, mainly to keep a low profile (mission impossible being a magicless student but eh, points for effort), but soon they stopped caring and now cuss instinctually. Something several people get on their case for, but they just shrug it off.
