Music festival
Activity title: Music festival
Duration: 4 days
Date: july 7. to july 10. 2022.
Type of activity: creativity and activity
Learning outcomes:
Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience
Identify own strenghts and develop areas for growth
Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Activity description:
I went travelled to Novi Sad by bus with my friend a couple of days before the festival began. We went sightseeing around the city and walked a lot. We attended every evening of the festival and saw some headliners like Molchat Doma, Iggy Azalea, Nick Cave and Calvin Harris. We also went to other stages like No Sleep and Dance Arena to listen to DJs. We had problems with returning home because we didn’t book the seats early enough and there was no seats left on the bus so we stayed a bit longer in Novi Sad and travelled with the night bus.
Reflection:
The trip to Novi Sad was short and it wasn’t exhausting. It was good that we arrived early, because we had time to figure out the city, how to get to the fortress where the festival was, get our entry bracelets and find good fast food restaurants. The first night stayed until the morning, however the line up wasn’t that good. The second night we arrived earlier to see Molchat Doma so we didn’t stay long and rested in our apartment to gather energy for the third and fourth day. The last two days were the best, the musicians were great and we had a lot of fun. All of the walking and dancing exhausted us, but overall it was a great experience and we hope to go next year.

Trip to Šibenik
Activity title: Trip to Šibenik
Duration: 7 days
Date: 19.6.-26.6.2022.
Type of activity: Creativity and activity
Learning outcomes:
Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience, develop new skills in the process
Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Activity description:
It was hard to find a good apartment for a good price and near the city centre since I didn’t book early enough and because it was a spontaneous trip. But I found it in the end and it was an apartment in a nice old building in the city centre. We went to beach every day, walked around the old town in the evenings and went for drinks after the walk in a bar that overlooked the city and the sea. There was a lot of walking and physical activity since the old town is on a hill and it has a lot of steps.
Reflection:
The old town of the city is beautiful. I enjoyed it’s architecture since I love old buildings. There were also a lot of small cute shops with homemade mediterranean goods. I also ate a lot of great seafood, which I don’t have at home. I liked that I got a lot of physical activity by walking and swimming. Another thing that I liked about the town is that it has a lot of cats. The beautiful views of the city and the sea inspired me to take a lot of pictures. The planning of the trip was hard but successful in the end. Overall I really enjoyed the trip and would want to visit Šibenik again.

Donating clothes
Activity title: Donating clothes
Type of activity: service
Duration: 1 hour
Date: 12.2.2023
Learning outcomes:
Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
Activity description:
I decided to donate my old clothes to people in need by putting them into the “yellow container” set up by the foundation “Mozaik prijateljstva”.
Reflection:
This year I have become more aware of the negative impacts of fast fashion so I started being mindful about my shopping habits and began to purchase most of my clothes second hand. After a while I had lots of clothes that I have outgrown or that don’t fit my style anymore so I decided to donate them. Luckily there is a yellow container near my house where I could donate them. After this I felt great because clothes that I don’t wear anymore will get more use and not just sit in the back of my closet anymore. I am happy that people in need will benefit from them.

There was a lot of pieces that I liked and that left a lasting impression on me. It was very inspiring. I liked that we got insight into the historical background of the pieces which I wouldn’t know if it wasn’t for the guide. The historical background made the pieces even more impactful for me.

Date: February 15th 2022.
Learning outcomes:
Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth

Activity description:
My classmates and I went to the Museum of Republika Srpska to spend time and draw with children battling malignant diseases. Unfortunately the children couldn’t come, because of the situation with the Coronavirus. Even though we couldn’t spend time with them we all gathered to draw them drawings as gifts.
Reflection:
I was a bit disappointed that the kids couldn’t come, but I got over it because I understood that it is safer for them that way. It was fun to draw children’s cartoons characters and to think about what kind of drawings would they like. I drew Anna from Frozen and I hope that it will make a child happy and that they will like it.

Drawing
Activity title: Drawing
Type of activity: creativity
Duration: long term
Learning outcomes:
Identifying your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth
Show commitment and perseverance in CAS experiences
Activity description:
I have been drawing ever since I remember and it’s one of my favorite hobbies. I prefer digital art over traditional so most of the stuff I draw is on my tablet. Even though I prefer digital I am still going to try to improve my traditional techniques.
Reflection:
I want to improve my artistic skills so I am going to try drawing more regularly than I usually do. I think that it will go smoother than when I attended the national program at school because now I have visual arts classes and more time and motivation to draw. I am looking forward to seeing myself get better at art in these two years!

Asteroid Search Campaign
Activity title: Asteroid Search Campaign
Type of activity: service
Duration: 1st to 26th November
Learning outcomes:
Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
Activity description:
Asteroid search campaigns are run and managed by the International Astronomical Search Collaboration. Each year around 3,500 teams participate from more than 70 countries. Participants make important detections of Main Belt asteroids (MBAs) and occasionally of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs). A "campaign" is a month-long event in which teams search for asteroids
Reflection:
This was a completely new experience for me. I have never been a part of something similar to this so it was both very fun, but also challenging. I learned how to use the software Astronometrica and search for asteroids. There were lots of image sets of the sky to go through so my eyes got tired, but it was worth it because my team found a (potentially) new asteroid!!

Theatre play
Activity title: theatre play
Type of activity: creativity
Duration: 1 hour
Learning outcomes:
Identify strengths and develop areas for growth
Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Activity description:
I went to see an operetta Služavka gospodarica after school with my classmates. This was my first time watching an operetta, which was interesting.
Reflection:
I love going to the theater and watching plays so I was looking forward to this activity. Unfortunately I didn’t really like this one. The main reason for that is probably my dislike for comedies ( I prefer more serious plays). I was also looking forward to a more complex story and development of characters. Another thing that bugged me was the repetitive nature of the songs. Even though it is not my cup of tea, I still appreciate the actors’ skills ( their singing was amazing) ,choreography and the pianist’s work.

Vienna
Activity title: Trip to Vienna
Type of activity: Creativity, activity
Duration: 4 days
Learning outcomes:
Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in progress
Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Activity description:
I already visited Vienna a couple of times before and it’s one of my favorite cities. This time I wanted to attend the Vienna International Book Fair, visit a lot of art museums and try lots of cakes. I travelled there by airplane on Friday and went back home on Monday.
Reflection:
The trip was amazing and I had a lot of fun. I travelled there by plane, so it wasn’t too tiring. The best part of the trip was the visit to Albertina museum. There I discovered an artist that I haven’t heard of before-Paul Flora, and of course revisited the works of my favorites Schiele, Klimt, Durer and so on. It was very inspiring, as well as the stunning architecture of the city centre. This is the main reason that Vienna has a special place in my heart. The book fair was also very nice. My favorite stand was the one with all kinds of antique books, they were really expensive though. On the other hand, the food was amazing ( especially pastries, cakes and sweet bread). I went to an old timey cafe called Pruckel to try mozart cake for the first time and it had a rich homemade flavor. In conclusion, this was a very nice trip that I wish to repeat again.

Type of activity: creativity
Duration: 2 days
Learning outcomes:
Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefit of working collaboratively
Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience

My friends and I wanted to celebrate Halloween this year. We decided to dress up in costumes and prepare food for the party. It was also my friend’s birthday that weekend so we also celebrated her birthday.
Reflection:
I always wanted to do a proper Halloween celebration with my friends, but we never managed to organize it until this year. Because Halloween was on a weekend all of us managed to contribute to the party. There were all kinds of fun costumes and my best friend and I dressed up as Sonya and Raskolnikov from the book “Crime and Punishment”. As a part of the birthday gift I prepared some pumpkin flavored cookies and they turned out great! The party was very fun and I hope we will be able to celebrate Halloween like this next year.

Drawing and nature
Activity title: Art in nature Type of activity: activity, creativity Duration: 3 hours weekly ( for 2 weeks)
Learning outcomes:
Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Identify own strenghts and develop areas for personal growth
Activity description:
I went on a walk to explore the forest near my weekend house and to find inspiration for art. Apart from that I also wanted to be more physically active. On my way I took some photos of my gorgeous surroundings and did some quick sketches.
Reflection:
I haven’t drawn anything in a long time and I wanted to start doing it again. In the past, I loved going on walks and finding a nice quiet place in nature to do some sketches. This always helped me relax and get back into making art. Because I haven’t been able to go outside much last month, I decided to use these 2 weeks to spend more time in nature and this is how it went. On my walks I saw all kinds of different plants and I even collected some pretty rocks and shells from the riverside. The beautiful scenery prompted me to take lots of pictures. I felt inspired the whole time and it really convinced me to get back into doing things that I enjoy.

Litter Clean Up
Activity title : Cleaning up litter by the riverside
Type of activity : activity, service
Duration : 3 hours
learning outcomes:
demonstrating engagement with issues of global significance,
demonstrating the skills and recognizing the benefits of working collaboratively
demonstrating how to initiate and plan a CAS expirience.
Activity description:
I went to the Vrbas riverside with my friends to pick up the trash that has been piling up there recently. While we were picking up the trash we were also physically active, which was nice because I didn't get much physical activity the previous week. After we finished picking up the trash we had a nice walk along the river.
Reflection:
I am glad that we were able to organize this activity and that everything went according to plan. Sadly, it was surprising how polluted the riverside was. There was all kinds of trash: plastic bags, bottles, cans, rusty metal parts and so on. It was satisfying to see the before and after of the cleanup and to think that we were able to positively influence our environment by a little. Although it was a bit exhausting, being able to spend that time in nature with my friends was actually very refreshing. On our walk we spotted a praying mantis and a friendly local’s dog came up to us to play. Altogether this was a very fun experience and I am looking forward to doing something similar to this again.
