I do not have the energy to dig through my time tracking to total up the amount of hours that went into the draws, redraws, and the numerous redos for the typesetting. We also won't bother trying to find how many hours went into working on it after the program exported in the wrong size and resolution (I ended up finding help for that to bring it back up to print needs after a mental breakdown). This would have gone so much faster if I hadn't been dealing with my back for months on end being the worst it has been since back in 2004/2005/2006. I have had to sit on this cover until everything else for the book came into alignment.

I was not the first editor that the book itself saw, but once it got to my publishing house I went over it several times, then several times with the author, went through again, and had a trusted proofreader (who declined the offer of a credit). I also handled print edition layout, conversion for the ebook, as well as the cover and interior chapter illustration.

"Treasure of the Ancient Wizards" by Alexander Saunders is available now for pre-orders in ebook format. It goes live via Smashwords on September 3rd and on Amazon on September 4. I am still waiting for the physical proof to arrive for the print edition. An audiobook format is planned for later. The cover art minus the text is slated to become a poster later on for the first piece of book merchandise to accompany the story.

When a young Alex hears a mysterious voice and follows it, his discovery leads him on an epic quest to retrieve a treasure he hopes will help his family. When he and his friends enter into a magical world they together learn about bravery, love, trust, and dependability. The biggest question is, can five teenagers do what many adults have not? Can they get back home if they succeed? If they can are they even going to want to go home after entering a world where unicorns, dragons, witches, wizards, merfolk, fauns, and other such mythical beings are real?

Written from the first person point of view as a young Alex retells his story to his mysterious audience, this tale was crafted for the entire family to enjoy. Perfect for a bedtime read to children, adults can also enjoy this on their own for a moment of respite. Our young hero still holds that passion for justice that many of us allow to die down to an ember but also holds the tenacity to keep pushing to make the world a better place.

Ame's Art Desk: Mushroom Sticker Art

There are other mushroom pieces I will do for a sheet of mushroom stickers. I don't expect I can afford a booth at the local Mushroom Festival this year or get items produced in time for this year. I am focusing on being able to afford my yearly booth at the Lumberjack Fiesta in McCloud and need to double-check how much I owe for this year's calendar ad (only one of the two ladies involved in calendar expenses has contacted me so far). However, perhaps the sheet as well as Lumberjack-related sticker art will both be ready and printed by that time.

The first one played around with in this video is inspirited by the Blue Oyster mushroom. The second is taking extreme liberty with the Inky Cap mushroom.

These are done in Procreate on an iPad (9th generation) using an iPencil (1st). The first one used mainly the studio ink brush in the inking. The second focused on using the waterbrush from the calligraphy set. Before anyone asks why so much more time was spent on the first it is because I became dissatisfied with the colors. And style. And picky.

Wip of one of the rp character commissions I have. We are still in preliminary line work to showcase the adventuring gear for Summer Lily and Winter Song. I have not gotten the wings nor tails drawn for these fairy twins. As one can hopefully see in this, when doing digital I work in layers. The ears will be revised later when their player brings me the physical ears they wish the ears to be based from, now that I am where I am ready for those. I will do the finger webbing in the same session. I look forward to laying down color. Character commissions give me time to be more detailed than I otherwise might be. Justin Makay is the older brother of Kirsty Makay in Selkies' Skins: Temple and Skinquest. Kidnapped at a very young age he was corripted with the Taint and raised among the Finmen, a tribe of #merfolk that rebelled against the deities of moon and sea. Even after David helps him fully free of that curse, marks are left, leaving him a marred #selkie that also has fish traits. Here he plays his soul flute seeking either solace or lunch.
