So this comic is based on a scene from chapter two in the story “No ill will” by Castiloar I started drawing it after having a conversation with my friend about the challenge of interpreting written scenes and making them into comics :> It was a lot of fun to do.
I can’t say enough how much I love this story! If you haven’t read it yet you should give it a try. The characterization is wonderful for a modern AU :)
I had meant to get this done sooner but work has been crazy. I just wanted to have it finished before I started on my comics for the Reylo Comic Anthology.
Anyways I hope you enjoy <3

Can we talk about this for a moment?
Here we see Ben obviously occupied with Snoke’s guards
But as soon as he see’s Rey he is immediately distracted, despite 5 guards surrounding him.
Ben then appears to be going into protective mode and desiring to defeat the guards as soon as possible so he can get to Rey and help/protect her. (Not that he doesn’t think she can handle herself but out of genuine concern)
He then is caught and almost choked to death.
BUT here’s the key part of this situation. Ben STILL worries for Rey as we can see as watches her become entangled in the guards grasp and Ben then murmurs her name while choking.
Even as Rey throws him the saber Ben continues to keep an eye on her as if she matters more to him than anything else including his own life.

“Here’s the thing,” Driver says, “Life’s shitty, and we’re all gonna die. You have friends, and they die. You have a disease, someone you care about has a disease, Wall Street people are scamming everyone, the poor get poorer, the rich get richer. That’s what we’re surrounded by all the time. We don’t understand why we’re here, no one’s giving us an answer, religion is vague, your parents can’t help because they’re just people, and it’s all terrible, and there’s no meaning to anything. What a terrible thing to process! Every. Day. And then you go to sleep. But then sometimes,” he says, leaning forward, “things can suspend themselves for like a minute, and then every once in a while there’s something where you find a connection.”

Whom Hades Seized // a fanfiction by nightsofreylo
The wind stings Kylo’s face, crisp and cold, but it doesn’t make him feel any less trapped. He braces himself against the outer wall, his composure abandoned now that he is alone. It is all too much. His head pounds, blood rushing through his ears, and his back bows slightly as he tries not to collapse.
He could have lost Rey tonight.
He might still.
{ chapter xvi }
Centuries after the destruction of earth, the Knights of Ren remain behind on the planet’s unlivable surface, an ancient order tasked with reaping the bodies sent to the ground from the ship that orbits above the dead planet. These solitary survivors on the underworld have become feared and hated by those who live in the skies, believed to be masked harbingers of Death…but their master, Kylo Ren, believes that one of the sky-walkers may hold the key to healing his land and bringing humanity home. { ao3 }
