diary entry 3 Jan 11th

Had a winning day so far. Finalized the connection the licensing guy in London. I sent him the 5 songs. Before i would have been in analog state of mind and sent one track. But i did the right thing to get the buzz going. for the 4 portraits ep. I am testing a few things with spotify and twitter. I am trying to get better at this digital hustle. I am use to getting on the phone and talking to people but people don’t want to talk anymore. They want to communicate. I made a connection to get 4 portraits ep out into China,Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. We don’t understand how big the world sitting here in the USA. They have 500 million middle class people and some want western media. Some speak english. The chinese are trying to make sure people get paid for there streams. Will make the call tomorrow. I am lucky i know the guy from 10 years ago. I watched him grow his business. Much props. I wrote a press release to get more word on the preorder of the 4 portraits. The Mantra is the store don’t close...24/7. The internet don’t sleep. I am from the city that don’t sleep. So i get the principle...lol. I still don’t have access to the artist as she goes thru her personal issues in the middle of our preorder campaign. She is not doing nothing right now. It is hurting what we can do but i have to forge ahead. Maybe she will join before Feb 17th. One day at a time....

Prohibition Entertainment music Release diary

This is the first day of my daily story of releasing our first music release in almost 6 years.Today is a snowy day here In the NYC. It is Saturday Jan 7th  I am stressing,strategizing here with the other Starbucks grinders. The music hustle is basically digital now. It is a tough transition to this. Nothing to touch…nothing to look at. Don’t feel like I am working a record. I spend my time talking to apps, data people, social heads, worrying about tweets. People still think I am in the music game. I know that I am not. The tech people have won. All I think about is algorithms. The artist/songwriter I work with TRAEDONYA! Is a gifted vocalist… not a singer. Now that distinction is lost. She is a career music industry person. As far as I am concerned there is no more music industry.. The industry won’t admit they can’t take a artist from ‘‘soup to nuts’‘ anymore. The majors are decimated. They are essentially the wizard of oz. now. I use to have 1800 people in my phone…. now I have 200. Don’t talk music anymore. No one is breaking records anymore. We are all trying to go viral. We are all trying to trend. Ii realize now that I am starting from scratch. No one around me gets that…even the artist. She is not using all the tools that are available. She still thinks we are breaking records. She is wasting so much time…. it is frustrating. This is the Age of creatives not necessarily artist. People don’t know the difference. The tech people don’t talk music. They talk about there platform….their algorithms, their app. They feel the music is secondary. It is all about there platform or app. I spend my time on twitter and Google. I could rant on on,on but I will stop now. I will be doing this till our release is out in the marketplace. The name of the Ep is the 4 Portraits. It is by TRAEDONYA!. During this process I became a songwriter. So this day 1 ….I will try and be consistent on a daily basis. Cheers

DIARY ENTRY-

Jan 10th 2017 - TRYING to get peoples attention in this day n age is a challenge so they can listen to your music is impossible due to the over saturation of music. It has become a commodity. At the club it is Koaroke. It is part of the scenery. Doing a club promotion in this day n age is not productive because so many djs don’t and can’t take chances with there set. The public is now playlist orientated. They want the hits. The club is not a place you educate the public now with music. You have to do that someplace else. So for me the role of the dj has changed. Today i got a licensing deal with a uk and european company that breaks your music in hotels,restaurants and businesses. For once the mattered. We are 5 weeks from the official release day of feb 17th. So i am just trying to garner as much buzz as possible. We picked up some more bloggers over the weekend. Our rep pitches the project to Apple, Spotify, Deezer and all the other platforms. I am nervous this week. Trying to get any buzz...lol. one day at a time
