"Todo menos X" is much more common than "todo excepto X". How would you say "You got them all right except the last one"? --- INSTRUCTIONS: Card 1) Listen to the audio and try to guess (or look up) the meaning of the words that you don't understand. Card 2) Try to translate it into Spanish. Card 3) Listen to the answer. Card 4) Try to repeat cards 1 and 2 from memory (using the hints), but do it out loud 📢 📢 📢 . It has to be out loud, otherwise it won't stick. Come back to a few hours later and see if you can still remember it.

"Tardar" and "faltar" are extremely useful verbs in everyday conversation, although they're not easy to directly translate. "¿Cuánto vas a tardar? ¿Vas a tardar mucho?" (How long is it going to take you? How much longer?) "Me faltan dos paradas. Me falta una hora para terminar" (I'm two stops away. I'm an hour away from being done). That's the knowledge, now you have to make it yours 😉 This deliberate practice exercise is an excellent way to internalize new structures. Listen to each audio as many times as you need to be confident about how each word is pronounced. Then, use the last two images to help you repeat each sentence out loud 📢 📢 📢 . It has to be out loud, otherwise the knowledge won't become ingrained, and you won't get out of intermediate purgatory 💪 🇪🇸 Learn more Spanish at http://itsnachotime.com
