i seem to gain more followers on my insta account when im ia for nearly a week compared to when im actually active.. so weird..

My boss yelled at me today, so I walked out.

I won’t disclose where I worked for fear of getting in trouble. Anyway, onto the whole ordeal.

I was working today (the 4th of July mind you) a mid shift. That being 11am-8pm. So I planned on leaving after my lunch that’s an hour long that I was taking at 5pm. Yesterday I left early, right after my lunch as well. (I worked a 1:30pm-10pm shift, I left at 8pm right after my 7pm lunch). My boss was working that night until 10pm as was another associate in my department. They both left early too. And the other associate that was working left right after his lunch, remember that!

Today I’m standing outside on the patio (as part of my work duties, I’m allowed to be on the patio) and she comes storming out and says the following in a very angry and loud way:

Her: “Lindsey, what time are you going to lunch?”

Me: “I was gonna go at 5”

Her: “Okay and what time are you leaving?”

Me: “Oh I was gonna leave at 6..”

Her: “No, you’re not allowed to take your lunch within the last hour that you’re leaving. If you don’t like it, talk to management about it because you’ll already be talking to them about leaving early.” and then walked off angry.

First I would like to mention: I was completely unaware we weren’t allowed to do that. I did it the night before and even a week ago. I was never informed that’s not allowed. The time I did it she was literally the one I informed I was leaving RIGHT AFTER MY LUNCH and she said “okay, feel better soon” AND NEVER ONCE TOLD ME IM NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT. LIKE THAT WOULD’VE BEEN THE PERFECT TIME TO LET ME KNOW ABOUT THIS POLICY!!! BUT SHE DIDN’T!

Second off: If she was upset about me leaving early the night before and making my department empty, I get that. Though she and the other associate I worked that shift with LEFT EARLY TOO. Again, I was completely unaware I’m not supposed to take my lunch within the hour before I leave. Her yelling at me was super unprofessional. I don’t care how upset you are, YOU DON’T YELL AT EMPLOYEES.

Another thing I’ll highlight is that I was responding very timidly as I could obviously see and hear that she was upset. There was not an OUNCE of sass or disagreement in the two sentences I responded to her with. The last thing she said made no sense, I never acted as if I had an issue with it because I didn’t know about this policy.

Lastly, I had already put in my two weeks last Tuesday (June 27th, 2023). I fully planned to work all my shifts even though I was fucked over on my scheduling (that’s why I was quitting). But her yelling at me like that? Highly unprofessional and highly underserved. I know for a fact she won’t yell at the other associate who left immediately after his lunch. But I got yelled at.

I did let a member of management know why I quit on the spot. I will be going back to speak to the store manager because that was just unacceptable. With someone else standing right next to me she yelled at me like that. Completely undeserved. We weren’t best friends or anything but we got along just fine. I was even helping solve an issue that morning that we got marked for on a walk through from corporate and she was needing to be fixed before they came back to check on it. I’m a nice person and generally in a happy mood. So I honestly can’t think of any reason that warranted her yelling at me at all. If she would’ve spoken to me about it in a calm manner, I would not have walked out. I don’t even care if she thought I knew what I was doing was wrong, you still don’t yell at people like that. I don’t wish her any bad in life, but again I will talk to the store manager because no one deserves to be treated like that.

PLEASE don’t subscribe to twitter blue because thats exactly the goal of this. show him that we hate what he’s doing and boycot, if we can make twitter non-profitable ESPECIALLY by making ads reach wayyy less people and turning them off from the site we might have a chance at them listening to us again
