you can fall in love at 30. you can discover your true passion at 40. you can go back to school at 50. you can learn to draw, or paint, or sing at 60. relax. just because you didn’t do most, or any, of the things considered “young adult milestones” doesn’t mean you never will. there’s no time limit on happiness.

navigating BPD during vacations
3 tips:
1. let go of the need to control others and your feelings!
truth-you can’t control how others will feel or behave
perspective-it’s scary to feel intense emotions around other people and that’s ok. nobody enjoys it. if everyone else in the world had bpd, they’d fear this shit too.
empowerment-no matter how other people react or treat you, you are always in control of how to respond.
2. keep in mind the reasons why you want to experience relationships/good times
truth-the ones in your life now have stood the test of time
perspective-they might more or less know you have bpd and accept you
empowerment-you deserve to feel close and be happy with ppl despite your interpersonal challenges
3. accept yourself when symptoms bubble up (prep for that shit)
truth-you can’t control when you split and have to love yourself regardless of when you do
perspective-you only lash out when spiraling in shame. you know this. so why not nip the shame before it buds?
empowerment-shame is a waste of energy. stewing in it won’t make you stronger or invulnerable to unpleasant emotions like you once believed. acknowledge it then kick it TFO and enjoy your time.
