The IRL altar has been repositioned and cleaned.
Corvus seems much happier with this

For grounding oneself in physical/tangible reality after having experiences outside of normal states of consciousness or periods of disassociation, as well as traditional grounding and centering.

How do I connect with local spirits?
Most witches consider local spirits to be a cornerstone of their practice. It's much easier to cast a ward on your home when the local forest spirit will back it up. Ask five witches how to connect to spirits and you'll get seven answers and three arguments.
So I'm going to give you a foolproof answer.
If you live in the united states, your state will have a list of endangered and threatened species. It will also have a list of invasive species. Look through these. There's a pretty good chance that you'll be surprised and find something you've seen before. "I didn't know that was endangered! I've seen that in my grandma's backyard."
Great! You are now that species guardian angel.
Figure out how to protect it. Find out how to spread it. Then do it. It spreads from cuttings? Awesome! Take some cuttings and sprout them, then plant them somewhere.
You don't have anywhere to plant them? That's okay. Get a high-vis vest, pull over onto the side of the highway in a nice spot, plant them, and leave. No one questions the high-vis vest. Someone does? "I'm a volenteer at an endangered species reintroduction program." It's not even a lie, it's just a program of one. Hell, that program may actually exist and you may actually be able to volenteer for it.
"But how does this help me connect with local spirits?" You are actively protecting your local ecosystems that your local spirits are a reflection of. They will appreciate that far more than any other offering you can give.

Warning this post contains mentions of Animal injury and Death
Part of my work involves animals, being that i vowed to Corvus to help and protect those that i could. This vow came after I attempted to save a possum, who passed while i held him in the blanket i had used to get him off the road. I have a small plastic container sphere with some of his fur in it. He was nicknamed Fleetfoot.
Unfortunately that vow sometimes comes to me in the form of an animal being unable to go on, as was the case with the koala i had found tonight. I called the person i knew (a vet nurse) who took a look at his injuries and let me know he would have to pass on, they euthanised him.
I then went to my car and the compartment I keep a small bag of crystals in and the sphere of Fleetfoot's fur was open. The ball had rolled forward. I felt as though this was Fleetfoot saying that it was okay, it was the right decision for the Koala, and that he was safe.
May that koala rest easy now and be free in the afterlife wilds. May Corvus guide him to the Garden.

The rose bushes in my garden are growing well. This one is called Dark Desire. And while it needs a bit of a trim and some water it's still very healthy.
The garden it is in is dedicated to my craft and this rose was chosen by name to be for Corvus

Pinned post!
This blog is ran by @a-shattered-goddess to serve as a digital altar for the raven god I follow in my practices.
This blog is open for questions and messages :) i'm more than happy to answer what i can
---
Corvus takes the form of a large eagle sized (or larger) raven with deep purple eyes. He does not share his entire name outside of a small circle of beings and the pantheon.
He is the Dark messenger god and represents death. He is also seen as an omen of impending misfortune. Some see him as a guardian, though he has questionable methods.
Common things which are left at the physical altars I have set up are: water, protection herbs, Onyx, obsidian and moonstone. A rabbit skull is also on the main altar.
---
There is no intent on asking for worship or anything of the sort here, though prayers and offerings can be given of free will.
We will actively discourage cult behaviour via multiple means.
---
We thank you for your time.
This post may be edited at any point in time. Please be respectful.
