Lev's Bio
"It is entirely possible for the paranormal to be amongst us."
More info on Lev is under the cut
Name: Lev Bezrukov
Age: 32
Height: 192 cm
Birthday: 21 September '19
Orientation: Cisgender Bisexual Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Rank: Lieutenant
Unit: RCM-Precinct 57
Country Of Residence: Le Caillou (formerly Graad)
Likes: Anything related to the paranormal, magnets, schedules, his mother's garlic butter buns
Dislikes: Tardiness (late by one minute or longer), Lickra(TM), deep-fried food, loud music (especially anodic music)
Hobbies: Researching about paranormal topics, nightly escapades to 'haunted' locations, playing with his magnetic dice
Highest Attribute: Physique
Personality: Serious and rule-abiding, he's one of the few officers who would never consider taking bribes no matter what. Also extremely observant, he tends to see things that most people would easily miss... However, his hyperfixations make him a bore to interact with to most. It's also not helped by his most critical flaw, which is his lack of tact
Background: After Lev's father accepted a position as a History lecturer in a Revacholian university, the Bezrukovs immigrated from Graad to Le Caillou when Lev was eight. There, he grew up relatively unsupervised and was allowed to pursue his own interests as long as they were legal and didn't harm him. When Lev was 11, he bought a book about the paranormal world and was instantly hooked on the topic, soon becoming one of his well-known hyperfixations
This hyperfixation motivated him to join the RCM as he heard two police officers mocking the existence of the Remote Viewers Division when he was 15. After his parents gave him permission to join, he immediately applied to the RCM and expressed an interest in joining the Remote Viewers Division. However, not only was he met with contempt from the interviewer, he was informed that the paranormal was a scam and he was a fool to believe it in. This prompted Lev to beat up said officer, who attempted to shoot him in self-defence but was horrified when the bullet did nothing to stop him
The fight was stopped by a passing captain, who was impressed by Lev's endurance and pain threshold despite his lanky frame. He was then trained and assigned to the Counter-Truancy Task Force as a junior officer. He proceeded to work in said division for 12 years before being partnered up with a sergeant colleague that was investigating a murder case. While his partner wanted to give up as there was a lack of clues that provided a direction, Lev refused as he was sure that the victim's body was speaking to them, giving them cryptic clues that was sure to help them solve their murder
His partner then told him to solve the case on his own as he didn't want to continue with the dead-end case. Lev accepted and with the help of the clues provided not just by the victim, but also by the murder scene whispering testimonies to him, he solved the case in six days and shocked his colleagues. Soon, he was assigned another murder case as his superiors wanted to determine if he managed to solve the first case by sheer luck, or if he truly was a natural detective. Lev proceeded to solve the second case within a week, which prompted his superiors to assign three cold cases to him
While it took him a total of four months to properly solve them all, it confirmed that despite his unorthodox skills and borderline annoying attention to detail, he was extremely capable of solving cases that were either too complex or too tedious for other officers. He was then transferred to the Criminal Investigation division and worked his way up to lieutenant, much to the displeasure of some of his colleagues as they were jealous of his position despite his young age. Others disliked that he constantly talked about his hyperfixations and/or the fact that he makes a big deal about them being late for work. The majority of his colleagues who didn't fall under either category tolerated him, but still found him strange. Lev, on the other hand, didn't mind nor care about his colleagues' opinions towards him as long as it didn't interfere with his duties
At 29, he was assigned to partner up with Gisela, a fellow lieutenant in the division and one of the few who seemed to not care about his oddities nor envy his high solved case ratio. Together, they solved a few complex cases which cemented their partnership. Three years later in May '51, a cryptic letter written in blood as well with a finger was found at her desk. The letter contained merely coordinates that led to Martinaise, where their colleague Kim Kitsuragi solved The Hanged Man case with Precinct 41's Harrier Du Bois two months ago
Reporting the finger to the RCM, Gisela and Lev were tasked to investigate who the missing finger belonged to as well as head to Martinaise for more clues. However, he could hear the finger cryptically warning him against investigating The Wasteful Butcher, fear engulfing him for the first time in his life. When he informed his partner about it, she had an unexpected reaction upon hearing the serial killer's name. Immediately realising that the case held a personal significance to Gisela, Lev knew that he should immediately report her connection to their superiors... but decided that for once, their bond came before doing what was right

Sel's Bio
"Everyone has an angle, no exceptions."
More info on Sel is under the cut
Name: Gisela "Sel" Aschauer
Age: 35
Height: 164 cm
Birthday: 18 November '16
Orientation: Cisgender Lesbian Female
Pronouns: She/Her
Rank: Lieutenant
Unit: RCM-Precinct 57
Country Of Residence: Le Caillou (formerly Gottwald)
Likes: Sausage gratin, pinball, anodic music
Dislikes: Graadian literature, smoking (gives her a headache), horses
Hobbies: Parkour, pinball, clubbing
Highest Attribute: Motorics
Personality: Cynical and unethical, she's willing to do whatever she can to ensure her loved ones' safety even if that means breaking the law and becoming estranged from them. Is also determined, which usually translates to stubbornness especially when it comes to achieving her goals
Background: Growing up in Gottwald, Gisela usually skipped school and spent her free time skulking the streets where she learnt how to pickpocket and do parkour. While this enraged her father, he decided to accept that his daughter will never grow up to be a scholar and taught her practical skills such as learning how to shoot and read maps. Her mother, while disapproving her daughter's lifestyle, also resigned to Gisela's decision and imparted first aid skills to her due to her tendency to get injured
When Gisela was 16, she accidentally overheard a case that her parents were discussing and learnt about how there was a serial killer who seemingly killed people at random and took out either a single organ or bone from their bodies. She asked her parents about this, with her father immediately reprimanding her and told her to never mention it again. Two months later, her mother informed her that her father had been killed on duty but no explanation was given no matter how much Gisela asked
Determined to find out the truth, she joined the police force and started working her way up the ladder much to her mother's dismay. While working overtime sometime when she was 19, she stumbled across documents containing information about her father's death. Gisela then learnt that both he and his partner were killed by the serial killer during an investigation, and that he had his heart taken out. She proceeded to dig up more information about the case her father failed to solve, with the name 'The Wasteful Butcher' occurring multiple times during her investigation
Gisela proceeded to work harder and kissed her superiors' metaphorical asses in order to be given more cases to solve, eventually being partnered up with a lieutenant for a case possibly linked to The Wasteful Butcher shortly before she turned 20. However, her partner went missing two weeks after being given the case, forcing her to be reassigned to another case. After four months, Gisela was helping an elderly woman open the garbage bin when she noticed her partner's fingers sticking out from a garbage bag within, his wedding ring serving as his identifier. Gisela then reported this to her superiors and returned to her desk, only to find one of her partner's bright green eyes on it
Realising that The Wasteful Butcher knew about her and was very likely playing a game with her, she kept asking for more cases in hopes of finding out more information about them. However, her mother learnt about Gisela's hopes to encounter them, and fearing that she would lose her daughter, tried to convince her to resign but failed. A week later, the precinct's lazareth was ransacked and her mother was sent to the hospital for traumatic brain injuries sustained during the break-in. Gisela then resigned from Gottwald's police force and left for Revachol once her mother was well enough to travel
Against her mother's wishes, she entered the police academy and became an officer at 23 years old, appreciating the power police could wield towards citizens. She proceeded to work her way up the ranks which was helped with her street knowledge, ambition, willingness to use dirty means to get results, and the occasional ass kissing, all while secretly hoping that she would get noticed by The Wasteful Butcher despite being isolas apart and resume her investigation. Her mother, learning about this, decided to apply for a position at Precinct 57's lazareth after learning that the previous one had recently retired, much to her daughter's dismay. Unfortunately for Gisela, her mother had successfully gotten the job thanks to her past experience in Gottwald
When she was 32, she was assigned to partner with Lev, who was seen as strange by their colleagues. Nonetheless, they worked together on numerous cases at Precinct 57, eventually establishing a strong partnership. Three years later in May '51, a cryptic letter written in blood as well with a finger was found at her desk. The letter contained merely coordinates which led to Martinaise, where their colleague Kim Kitsuragi solved The Hanged Man case with Precinct 41's Harrier Du Bois two months ago
Reporting the finger to the RCM, she and Lev were tasked to investigate who the missing finger belonged to as well as head to Martinaise for more clues. However, Gisela knew that The Wasteful Butcher had finally found her and planned to resume the game that she had abruptly quit... and she planned to beat them at their own game before they get to her partner or worse, her mother
