Bedridden witch: Winter edition
For winter/ice witches! I tried to keep this fairly location neutral - so hopefully you find some helpful things even if you live someplace that doesn’t get snow/cold!
Create strands of pine cones to hang from your ceiling.
Collect a jar of snow so you can always have snow water nearby.
Drink things like seasonal tea, hot cocoa and apple cider.
Burn pine/spruce/wintery scented candles.
Get/make a small wreath and keep it indoors!
Use ice cubes to connect to the cold.
Keep clear quartz and snowflake obsidian around.
Make paper snowflakes! Or find an app/website where you can do a digital one.
Use your heat to draw sigils on frosted windows.
Put a bird feeder outside your window so you get winter visitors!
Use sigils that connect you to snow.
Get empty glass ornaments and fill them with herbs/pine needles/things that remind you of winter and hang them around.
Wear shimmery blue or white nail polish.
Check out the winter decor section of thrift stores when you make it out of bed! (Or have someone send you pictures).
Check out seasonal themed/winter aesthetic blogs.
White fairy lights!
Keep your curtains open during a full moon.
Wind chimes remind me of everything. Including! Winter.
Get some cute little snow globes.
Decorate with winter colors! White, blue, silver, grey, dark green, etc.
Use essential oils like mint and cinnamon.
Listen to music that reminds you of winter/snow falling. Try instrumentals.
Open the window for a minute to feel the cold air (do this early in the morning if you live somewhere warm).
This cute idea for moon charged ice cubes.
Watch gifs/videos of snow, ice forming, fire crackling, etc.
Connect with any deities that are associated with winter. (I connect with Artemis because she is part of the pantheon that I worship)
Watch shows/movies that remind you of the wintertime from when you were a kid.
Keep a bonsai tree/jade plant. Something that naturally keeps it’s leaves even in winter.

tips for walking in an abandoned graveyard
if it’s dark, don’t shine your flashlight into the trees.
if a child approaches and asks you a question, don’t tell the truth.
you may find some harrowing artifacts (i found a ribbon on a tree and some bible pages) pick these up and keep them. they belong to you.
if you walk down a long, straight pathway, you will feel someone behind you. don’t look
you may see people in your peripheral vision; these are the spirits. they won’t hurt you.
if you wish to communicate with the spirits, do not do it alone. cast a protection circle. only ask polite questions.
you will feel bursts of dread and terror. ignore them.
don’t read too much into what the graves say. some things are best left unsolved.
research the history of the graveyard beforehand. you need to know what you might encounter.
some beings may not want you to leave. should you come into contact with one of these beings, leave immediately.
don’t read the hidden graves.
if you find a headless angel statue, don’t look for her head.
if you find a tipped over angel statue, leave her be. she’s only resting.
don’t listen to music. this will distract you from them.
don’t look in the bushes. you will find something that you weren’t supposed to.

6 Alternative Altar Inspirations for Witches that are Bored of Altar Tables
No matter what path you follow as in witchcraft are, chances are you have some sort of sacred space. If you are a witch whose practice is part of your religious beliefs, this might be a place to communicate with your deities. If you work with spirits, this could be a place where honor your ancestors. Non-religious witches like myself often use altars as a space where they can connect with their magical and spiritual sides. Even though we all share this desire to have a place all our own dedicated to our craft.
That doesn’t mean we all need the same type of space. Whether you are a new witch who can’t show off your craft publicly (we’ve all been there) or just a witch who isn’t really into the more standard altar table setup, there are plenty of options for customizing and creating an altar space that meets your needs.
Window Altars
One easy way to create an altar is to take up a windowsill. Depending on the arrangement of the room you’re using, your personal preference, and the space available, the size of this type of altar varies.
This generally small altar space can be good for witches in the broom closet and green witches who like to keep their altars populated with plant friends. Because it is literally a window to the outside, these altars are also great places for charging things like crystals, spells, and water under the light of the moon.
Benefits:
Good for altars that are heavily planted (hello, sunlight!)
Generally discreet
Keeps your altar space contained (for all us witches that do not know when to quit)
Garden Altars
While pretty much any altar can include plants, there is something else to say for an altar that is almost completely plants. If you have some space indoors, why not design a witch’s garden that doubles as an altar space?
A small tray planted with succulents with offering bowls and candle dishes set into the soil and crystals scattered around can be a unique, and even moveable altar! You could also use potted plants so that you can change the arrangement or plants out whenever you need a refresh.
Benefits:
Deeply connected to nature and the earth
Pluck herbs for spells right off your altar
Generally pretty moveable
Bath Altars
If you love bath magic as much as I do, you’re a water witch, or your bathroom is one of your most sacred places (self-care anyone?), a bath altar could be the perfect thing to give your craft a physical home.
We’ve all seen those pictures of wooden tray tables for baths surrounded by eucalyptus and candles. Add a statue of your deity (or a symbol of something important to your craft), some crystals (check how your crystals are affected by water and humidity first!), and some jars of your favorite things to mix into bath spells, and your bath altar is set.
Benefits:
The perfect place to combine witchcraft and self-care
Perfect for witches that incoroporate the water element in their craft a lot
Magic really does belong in every room in the house
Travel Altars
If you tend to practice on a whim rather than waiting to be in a specific place or if you need to be able to stash your altar quickly, a travel altar is perfect. These altars can be fit into matchboxes, Altoids tins, jewelry boxes, and even hollowed out books! If you can carry it with you and find supplies small enough to fit, anything goes. (I’ve even seen locket altars!)
Some witches will create multiple travel altars for different purposes or focuses, but don’t feel like you need to collect them if that’s not your thing.
Benefits:
Small and discreet, it’s hard to make a mess with these
Very customizable (and easy to have multiples of!)
Perfect for witches in the broom closet
Virtual Altars
Tech witches, I haven’t forgotten you. If you’ve been following me for a bit, then you might know that I threw out the idea a while ago about a altar lockscreen/wallpaper for your phone/tablet/etc. Now that I’ve talked to some tech witches, I know this is actually a pretty sound idea!
Whether you commision an artist or design one yourself, a lock screen wallpaper for an electronic device (you could even go as big as a laptop with a touch screen!) could make the perfect altar for a tech witch. Even if you decide not to use it as a wallpaper, designing an image that serves as an altar and opening it in GIMP or Photoshop where you can create additional layers for placing other virtual elements could be useful.
Benefits:
Travel friendly
Can be synced across devices, so your altar is always with you
Easy to change and “redecorate” throughout the year
Paper Altars

(This incredible paper altar was created by Stella Witchcraft! Please click here to check out their full post and their blog!)
Similar to a virtual altar, a paper altar is a portable, customizable altar. Many witches choose to include paper altar setups in their grimoires, but there’s nothing stopping you from making larger paper altars with poster paper that can be rolled up and stored away.
If paper altars are attractive to you, don’t be deterred if you aren’t an artist! Minimallism in paper altars is perfectly fine. You can always outline your altar with symbols or even words alone. If you’re happy with it, it is perfect. You don’t have to meet and requirements for aesthetic or any other witch’s expectations.
There you have it! Of course, there are so many more types of altars, and even table altars can be created to fit your own personal needs. If you’re attracted to more than one of these, why not try combining the elements that call to you to make something entirely your own? The possibilites are endless.

• 🍯 Honey Magick 🍯 •
Honey
Honey is a natural substance created by bees within their hives. The hive consists of primarily female bees, which will leave the hive to collect nectar from flowers and then return to transform this nectar into sugary honey for later consumption.
Humans have been collecting honey since 8000 BC, and it has been utilized by nearly every culture across the globe for food, healing, and spiritual purposes.
Honey is universally considered a talisman of prosperity, beauty, health, and sweetness, and it can be utilized in all of these types of witchcraft.
Prosperity
Honey is a representation of abundance: its primary use in nature is as a stored source of food to be used in times of hardship, both for bees and for humans. It is also created from the nectar of flowers, imbuing it with the energies of the Sun and springtime. As such, it can be added to spells for wealth, abundance, fertility, or prosperity in order to amplify the effects and create surplus in your life.
Beauty
Sympathetic Magick states that an object’s physical qualities are reminiscent of its spiritual properties. Honey is golden, pleasing to the eye, and sweet. On its own or added to face masks, it can cleanse, nourish, and moisturize the skin. It can also be added to beauty or glamour spells in order to add a sweet glow to your energy.
Healing
Honey has been used to treat wounds since the time of the Ancient Egyptians. Its viscosity and moisture creates a moist seal around a wound. It also contains natural antibacterial properties, providing a stable and sterile environment for wounds to heal in. Metaphysically, honey can be added to protection spells or wards in order to create an environment of positivity and sterility, and can also be added to healing spells in order to strengthen the recovery process.
Sweetness
Honey is appealing to humans and animals because, above all else, it is sweet. One of honey’s most ancient uses - utilized in magical practices ranging from Egyptian to Greek to Voudoo - is to add ‘sweetness’ to a spell.
It can be added to glamour magick to make the illusion more easily accepted. It can be added to curses in order to make the energy seem harmless when entering the target’s life. It can be added to money spells or job spells in order to ‘sweeten the deal’. It can be added to love or sex spells in order to sweeten a relationship or conjure an appealing partner. In general, it can be added to any spell to make the effects more pleasant and inviting.
Offering
Honey’s final use is especially helpful to witches who work with nature spirits, fairies, the Dead, or deities. Honey contains a very pleasing, warm, Sun-type energy, and therefore it is extremely enticing to spirits. Since the time of the Ancient Egyptians, honey has been used as an offering that symbolizes the utmost love, care, and respect.
Honey can be drizzled onto a candle and burned. It can be drizzled into a body of water or directly onto the earth. Most commonly, it can be drizzled into an offering bowl (or on top of an offering meal) and left outside, in a graveyard, or on an altar. Because it is excellent at preserving itself, offerings of honey can be left somewhere for prolonged periods of time without worry of it spoiling, which is extremely helpful to forgetful witches (like me) or witches with long-term altars.
So, all in all, honey is maybe one of the most underrated magical ingredients, and I hope this post got some of you hip to honey magick.
Happy Witching 🕉

Q18: Through the moonlight my intuition radiates. What is it I am not seeing?
With this question I did a one card draw and drew the one card that scares me the most. The Tower... luckily or maybe unluckily it was in reverse. This card has the meanings of disaster avoided, delaying disaster, fear of suffering, and upright it has the overall meaning of sudden upheaval or change.
To answer my question it seems like I am not seeing an upcoming change or a disaster I avoided in the past. I think disaster is a strong word because when you look back on big events in your past today sometimes they don’t seem so big. It is also important to remember that the cards are not set in stone so this upcoming change or upheaval may not occur.
I suspect this card may be referring to either my financial situation or my education. I feel like I have been falling behind in both just a bit so if I act now I can save myself from what may happen. The Tower card does not have to be scary, it can be a warning and put you on the right path.
Blessed be!

Q17: That which I do, is that which will come back to me. How can I remember to always keep this in mind?
For this question I drew The Son of Swords as it is called in this deck, The Wild Unknown, but more commonly known as The Knight of Swords. I drew this card in reverse so I has the meanings no direction, disregard for consequences, and unpredictability. The son overall is dynamic and a man of action like most Knights in other suits.
Swords are all about action and intellect. This card is very fitting for this question because we are trying to educate ourselves to be aware of the karma we put out into the world which will inevitably come back at us stronger. The son reminds us to not disregard but be aware of the consequences for all of our actions. I need to stick to my direction and know that karma is unpredictable.
Overall it is good to be aware of what you do and how that will affects others around you negatively or positively.
Blessed be!

Q16: Fears flourish in the darkness, What is it that my fears have to reveal to me?
I drew one card for this one and it was The Five of Wands. The fives in all suits are a card of conflict, but more specifically in wands it is a card of internal conflict. I drew this card in reverse so this card would stand for avoiding conflict and respecting differences.
From this card I can say that my fears teach me how to respect differences in others and not make conflict because of them. Some think you should accept peoples’ differences because everyone is unique, but when you find someone you just cannot agree with the best you can do is respect them.
Blessed be!

Q15: The journey of healing requires dedication and an open heart, what is the first step I need to take in order to allow myself to heal from the past?
I did a one card draw for this as I only need the first step in this healing process. I got the Two of Cups which represents unity, partnership, connection, love, and romance. That is a long list of interpretations of this card but I think in this situation it can mean something really quite simple: turn to the ones you trust and love, whether that be your family, friends, or significant other.
Most of the time we turn to these people in times of success and accomplishment, but in our time of need we can become ashamed or guilty and not seek the help we need from those who care most. It is important to have at least one person you can turn to if you need help whether it be for advice, support, or just someone to vent to.
To heal from wounds of the past I need to have not only an open heart, but open arms to welcome the people I trust into my life at my time of need.
Blessed be!

Q14: In which ways do I connect to my higher self already? Which areas have I yet to venture?
For this I did a 3-card spread kind of like the past, present, and future one we all know and love. I worded it a little different for this question to address my journey with my higher self: Where I’ve been, where I am now, and where I will go connecting with my higher self.
I pulled: The Four of Wands reversed, The Sun, and The Father of Cups reversed. With this spread I notice right off the bat that I start and end on a sort of place of conflict, but in my present I am doing well and enjoying the brighter aspects of my higher self.
The Four of Wands represents instability and lack of communication. The Sun stands for vitality, enlightenment, and positivity. Finally, the Father of Cups stands for manipulation, moodiness, and trickery.
From how I interpret the cards, I see that in my past I had a lack of communication with my higher self and did not connect to them as much as I do now. This might be the time before I started my path into Witchcraft and Paganism. Now it seems I am exploring the positive parts of my higher self and am undergoing a sort of enlightenment. As for my future it looks like I still have yet to venture into the darker side of my higher self which deals with moodiness and manipulation.
The journey into your higher self is not always what you expect, or don’t expect :0 It is like any other journey with twists and turns and SUPRISES!
Blessed be!

Q13: How can I be more prepared to deal with loss?
For this reading I drew only one card as this question seemed very simple. How fitting that the card I draw would be the one that deals with loss the most... Death. Most people are scared of this card but I am a known optimist and try to look on the Brightside of everything.
I drew Death in reverse which has the meanings fear of change, holding on, and stagnation. Both versions of the Death card have similar meanings (upright and reversed) with the upright representing closure and transformation.
I believe to prepare for loss I need to accept that change happens to all of us whether big or small all the time. It is important not to fear it or try to hold on to what is comfortable for us. What is comfortable maybe be good for now but not in the future as we may get stagnant and not be able to progress. Change is vital and loss is just a part of it.
Blessed be!

Q12: I release control, and in doing so I am rewarded with new perspective. What is the first thing I notice?
For this I did a clarity spread which consists of 4 cards. One being the central focus or idea and the other 3 are what attribute to it. The focus of this spread was The Ace of Cups reversed which represents wasted emotions, blocked creativity, and emptiness. So the idea is that with this new perspective I can see that my emotions are empty or wasted on some situations that possibly aren’t that serious. It also could mean I am caring for the wrong people.
The cards that attribute to this idea are The Magician reversed, The Page of Pentacles reversed, and Justice. The Magician stands for trickery, illusions, and being out of touch. The Page of Pentacles represents daydreaming, laziness, and impracticality. Justice stands for cause and effect, clarity, and truth.
One thing I notice right away is the amount of reversed cards we have in this spread. We have a lot and this does not always mean things will be bad but in this case that is how it works out. In these cards we can see that there are blockages in the mind through daydreaming and illusions. This shows how my emotions are being wasted on things that are superficial or fake. We have laziness and being out of touch which shows how I need to realize my goals and work towards them rather than be idle. Finally the Justice card to me shows the hopeful end result from this clarity. I am hoping to find the truth about what I need to worry about and do versus what I do not.
I think this spread was a success and I hope to be using it more soon! It is important to have clarity in life.
Blessed be!

Q11: At times it can be difficult to find a balance between our desires and needs. What is it I desire and what is it I need?
For this question I did something different this time. Since it seems this question requires 2 answers I did a two card draw. I would say it is a successful draw although hard to interpret in the scope of the question.
I drew in order: The Nine of Wands and The King of Pentacles (or as this deck calls it The Father of Pentacles). The Nine of wands stands for resilience, pushing forward, strength, stamina, and confidence. The Father of Pentacles represents abundance, security, steady, and entrepreneurial.
So as I said this two card draw is a bit challenging to interpret, but as I see it the wands shows the near end of a journey which is what I desire whereas the pentacles shows the steady security I need. Right now I need to remember that although I am in college and very busy I need to keep strong and have the stamina to make it till winter break. That would be the end of the journey I desire and home is where my security and abundance is.
This would make sense for me because I just came from a visit at home with my family for a baby shower and I never realized how much I missed it till I was back. Especially my bed. I just have to make it till winter break, go to class. and get good finals grades :D
Blessed be!
P.S. I mentioned the new deck I am using, which is The Wild Unknown Tarot by Kim Krans, and that is also why I have additional insight into the card’s meanings. I got the full box set for the cards on Amazon (FOR AN AMAZING PRICE) and a book came with it so I went mostly off of that. I am loving it so far!

Oh Boy...
It has been a busy past few days. I am sure my 8 followers have not missed me all too terribly but I am sorry for the absence. As for my 31 day tarot readings I will continue to do that and make up for the days I missed. I went to visit my mom for those who were wondering and went to a baby shower. The days leading up to it were busy as well but now I am back and ready to roll again.
ON WITH THE WITCHY SEASON!
Blessed be!
