Tim Gunn: “Mmm….The hoodies are a mistake. Make it work!”
Tim: *draped over Jason’s couch, deeply depressed*
Jason, awkwardly: Would you, uh, like a gun? That always seems to help me…
Tim, wailing: You want to turn me into Gun Batman???
Jason: Gun… what?
Tim: I thought I could trust you!
Jason: In retrospect I’m sure you can see where you went wrong there.

Always excited for more stories from this universe, but especially looking forward to all the callbacks to the story that began it all! The Cardinals as we know them will be a fascinating backdrop…
CALL IT HOME comes out on November 23!
Hello friends! Here's an official announcement: My next book will be published on November 23, 2024.
On the worst day of his life, Ryan Harris, formerly a rising star, gets traded to the Connecticut Cardinals. On the best day of his life, Louie Hathaway, struggling hockey royalty, gets called up from the Cardinals’ farm team. When they decide to move in together for convenience’s sake, worlds collide. While Ryan tries to find his place among his new teammates, all Louie cares about is his performance on the ice. The more time they spend together, the more common ground they find – along with some inconvenient feelings.
As always, you will be able to pre-order the ebook from Amazon, it should go live within the next few days. The ebook will also be available from Kobo. Pre-orders will be possible there as soon as I have a finalized version of the book. I will be sharing links!
I'll also add a paperback edition. It will have a wraparound cover drawn by the wonderful @caroll-in – I'm very excited. Paperbacks cannot be pre-ordered as Amazon prints them on demand.
You can add the book on Goodreads!

I do like Blake and Elliot!
300 words of summer - #6
Pairing: Any [Blake/Elliot]
Prompt: Snippets from the NHL Awards
---
“Are you gonna thank me in your speech if you win?”
“For what exactly?” Blake turns around, considering Elliot, who is still only half-dressed. Because Blake came to his room and distracted him. He clears his throat. “I’d like to thank Elliot Cowell for scoring on me three times this season and keeping me humble?”
“It bugs you, doesn’t it?” Elliot grins. “That I scored on you three times.”
Blake rolls his eyes at him. It does bug him. One Elliot goal a season is normal, that’s what Blake expects. Two? Fine. He can deal with two. But three is too much. Elliot was unbearable after that third goal.
“You still got nominated for the Vezina,” Elliot says with a shrug.
Blake leans back in the chair by the window that looks out on a bright, burning hot Vegas afternoon. “What if you win?” he asks. “Are you gonna thank me?”
“Obviously,” Elliot says. “You practiced with me every day in juniors. Wouldn’t be here without you.”
Damn him for being all sincere about it. Blake gets up and kisses him. Distracts him again.
This always happens when they go somewhere together. It happens almost every year at the All Star Game, it happened when they both played at Worlds last month, it’s happening now.
They’re lucky that they end up in the same place so often – Blake may have ended up skipping the Awards if Elliot hadn’t come with him. Actually, no, Elliot would have never let him skip the Awards. He would have dropped him off at the airport and forced him to get on the plane.
“See? This is fun,” Elliot says, like he read Blake’s mind. He does that sometimes. “I told you this would be fun.”
“Maybe we should just stay in your room,” Blake says.
“Uh-uh…” Elliot kisses his cheek. “Later, though. If I win, I’ll thank you personally.”

Seems like the right time to stop lurking and start posting/reblogging
300 words of summer - #5
Character: Zach Goldman
Prompt: Coach Z moves to Seattle
---
“Are you sure we’re ready for this?” Zach asks. Needless to say, he’s not sure they’re ready for this.
“And by this you mean…” Angie glances out their kitchen window. “Leaving Connecticut after living here for actual decades? Or leaving our son here by himself?
Ah, she’s seen right through him, like she always does. “Both,” Zach says, “but a little more of the latter.”
He joins Angie at the window. Alex is in the backyard with the dog, throwing sticks and tennis balls for him. Every time, he darts through the sprinkler. Alex is completely drenched as well, but he's smiling.
“I’ll be here for a few more months,” Angie says. “We won’t be gone from one day to the next.”
“I know, but…” But every day of his life, Zach is worried about this kid. If anything happens, they’ll be in Seattle. 3000 miles away.
“You’re wondering if we should stay? Live here with him for the rest of his life and make sure nothing else ever happens to him?” She smirks at Zach. “Cover him in bubble wrap?”
Angie has managed to convince herself that it’s the right thing to do. Zach isn’t there yet. Problem is, he’s supposed to get on a plane to Seattle tomorrow to find a house for them before the season starts.
“I almost asked him if he wanted to come to Seattle with us,” Zach admits.
“He wouldn’t have come,” Angie says, gently patting his back. “And that’s a good thing. He has a real chance to build himself a life here.”
“And be the rink manager?” Zach sighs. “He could do anything he wants–”
Angie tuts at him. “And right now this is what he wants.”
Zach nods. “Well, I’ve already signed the contract, it’s not like I can back out now,” he quips.
“Admit it,” Angie says. “You’re excited that you get to coach an NHL team.”
Of course he is. He just wishes it was easier to leave.
