“Unpopular opinion but protein shakes are absolutely disgusting.” He grumbled as he slammed the plastic container down onto the table like it had offended his entire family. “Why can’t I just have a milkshake?” He paused a moment before continuing. “Do you ever just considering quitting all this spots bullshit? Trading it in for a life of reading and eating junk food?”

slender fingers tapped the back of the person he was approaching, ‘‘remember me?’’ he asked, Addison glanced towards his friendship group who were egging him on with laughs and wide smiles. He looked away from his friends, not wanting the other to catch on that other people were watching the conversation going on. ‘‘wait..I do know you, right?’‘ He questioned.
Gabriel wasn’t stupid of all things. In fact, he was quite observant and it was easy to note the group that the other male had come away from. A California Allstar approaching him. This had to be a joke, surely. So he just rolled his eyes and fixed the other with an unimpressed stare. “I’m on the same team as you, dumbass.” He responded flatly. “Did you want somwthing or are you just here to bug me? Hm?”

“you know, i heard a rumour that two teams have the same routine this year. how embarrassing! i mean, who’s so lazy that they can’t use their brains to make a routine for themselves? i guess that’s what they get for being so lame!”
“I mean, you could also try not gossipping about other teams. That would be such a great idea, right? Anyway, you should be glad if two teams have the same routine. Means it discredits two and gets them out of your way. More room on the road to victory.”

❝ AM I the only one that’s a little disappointed that last year’s champions aren’t here this year ?? I would have loved to win against them. Now that would have been a victory !! ❞
“Implies we’re gonna win. And we won’t unless we work our asses off.” He arched a brow at his teammate. “Besides, shouldn’t you be glad that we have less competition? Helps us secure a win easier.”

Tapping furiously on the keyboard, Alina ignored the cup of coffee that she’d purchased twenty minutes earlier and barely touched, allowing it to go cold. Any second spent not typing was a second wasted, she reckoned, and her editor’s demands were becoming increasingly unworkable. She noticed someone out of the corner of her eye, but chose to ignore them, focusing solely on her laptop. However, after a minute or so, sensing they were still there, she sighed deeply, closing the lid of her laptop and raising an eyebrow at the other person “Can I help you”? she asked, her tone brusquer than usual.
Now, Gabriel knew that the other woman was competition. Competition from South Jersey Storm to be more specific. So he wasn’t about to pass up an opportunity to fraternise a little and mess with her. Even if he did keep it somewhat lighthearted. He was an antagonist by nature. “Ouch, dollface. Your tone almost makes it sound like you don’t want to talk to me.” He slumped down into the chair opposite her, sipping from the takeaway cup and dropping the duffel bag by his feet. “What’cha working on?”

“Well, I thought I could help you with your tumbling. Maybe. Being a gymnast, I could probably give you some helpful tips. We are on the same team, after all.”

GABRIEL MONTGOMERY ( JACK FALAHEE, HE/HIM ) - is a TWENTY-THREE year old CHEERLEADER for CALIFORNIA ALLSTARS. On their team they’re a GYMNAST and some people describe them as DEDICATED and ORGANISED, yet SELF DESTRUCTIVE and STUBBORN. We will soon see about that, won’t we? [ ivy, gmt, 20, she/her ]
lil intro is under the cut!
Gabriel;
Twenty three years ago, a little boy was born and his parents lovingly named him Gabriel Ezekiel Montgomery I. Of course, at the time his mother looked down at him in his crib and had big dreams for him. Hoped that one day he would grow up to be a doctor or an athlete or a pastor. Something impressive and something to make her proud. His father… just wanted him to survive, honestly. Not throw up on him too much and give him only a few sleepless nights rather than many. It took some adjusting to his current career but they’re getting used to it. As long as he takes it seriously, acts like a professional athlete. Anyway, that’s skipping a little too far ahead. Back to his childhood, his upbringing, his education.
He was raised in a religious home, his mother a pastor herself. His father in his secure career of real estate, it was the perfect way to socialise but still have the opportunity to hide behind his wife when he could. He liked to stay out of things. Like when Ethel disagreed with some of the subjects on the syllabus in school, he stood idly by while she protested, treating the Headmaster’s office like the room belonged to her and she was delivering a sermon. Michael had gotten good at being invisible as the years passed, a skill which Gabriel observed closely in the hope he would one day inherit the skill himself. He had always been aggressive, snarky, sharp around the edges. It was how he got through and how he justified keeping himself at a distance to hide whatever emotional turmoil he was feeling and didn’t want to share but still get what he wanted and when he wanted. He was driven and what was wrong with that?
Discovering cheerleading was chance, honestly. He’d started as a bit of a rebel, always getting arrested in highschool, and doing a sport was a good way to get out of detentions. However, football didn’t work out. At all. It channelled his aggression in all the worst ways. So.. He tried cheer. At first he hated it and did nothing but bitch but then he started to get on well with the rest of them and discovered his years of jumping fences and running from the cops had actually given him well developed gymnast skills. So he attended classes and it was only once his parents saw him perform that they saw he was serious. That this was his life. And now be competes with California Allstars.
Ivy;
