you have a very pleasant voice have you ever thought of starting a podcast. you should start a podcast.
Good day, anon. First of all, thank you for the compliment.
I can't say I've ever considered starting a podcast of my own, no -- though this is more due to lack of opportunity rather than lack of interest. After all, serving as the head of the Oak Family since my adolescence left me quite busy, with precious little time to dedicate to hobbies. Although, come to think of it, I do have substantial experience giving speeches on formal affairs throughout my time overseeing Penacony -- perhaps you could consider these similar to podcast episodes, in a way, even if only superficially.
As for my present situation, I find myself milling about anxiously more often than I would like, so it might do me well to consider picking up a new hobby. It has indeed been quite a while since I've given a speech, but perhaps drawing from my experience through the lens of a podcast would lend the concept a creative twist. I shall take up the idea with the Nameless and see what they think; I anticipate that March, for one, will respond positively, as she's always been eager to share her wealth of knowledge and experience with anyone who will listen, so she knows a thing or two about telling stories. I appreciate your suggestion.

Ah, I should have expected that you might try to provoke me. Perhaps I should be less surprised that you think so lowly of me; after all, to say I put you through a great deal of trouble is still a considerable understatement. I can't say I blame you.
Under normal circumstances, I might endeavor to ignore your affront. However, as it happens, I've also been entertaining the idea of a rematch with you, should the opportunity arise. Therefore -- assuming that by "this time next week," you mean to say you're looking for a fight -- I would be glad to accept your proposal.
...Unfortunately, due to certain aspects of my present situation, I am unable to return to Penacony, and am otherwise preoccupied with other matters that require my current availability. I regret to inform you, then, that should you seek another confrontation with me, it will have to be postponed until a later date.
(For what it's worth, I don't mean to imply that a performance necessarily equate to a substantial degree of falsehood. Indeed, the best performances often originate from their respective actors' deepest truths -- at least, in some aspects -- as I gather the case was with yours.)
Hello, Mr. Aventurine. I hope this message finds you well.
In truth, there are a great many things I have considered asking you, but for the time being, I have settled on the following, as it is the question about which I am currently most curious...
I was thoroughly impressed by the performance you put on during your time in Penacony, and I cannot help but wonder if you perhaps possess some form of training in theatre or related performing arts. If you would be willing to share, I would be most interested to hear the details of your experience in this regard.
Well, well. Here I thought a little longer would elapse before you struck up the courage to reach out, Mr. Sunday. You won't mind if I mirror your formality, will you?
Oh, that's funny. I hadn't realized you kept such a sharp wit. If you thought that performance, as you described it, was a spectacle saved especially for the land of sweet dreams, then you're so woefully wrong. I'm not here to tout the sorrows and hardships of my life, but let it be said that those were no unique depths of insincerity to which I sank.
And make no mistake, I would gladly do it again. This time next week, how about that? Now shoo, before you encourage me to reply to another ask with this same level of sincerity. ✨

I have recently gleaned an... intriguing piece of information from browsing the data bank.
I don't properly recall how it was that I got drawn into entries on botany. That aside, it surprised me to learn that, pedantically speaking, roses do not actually have thorns.
To explain this more precisely, there are multiple types of spine-like structures that can grow from a plant's tissue, and they are classified differently depending on the part of the plant from which they originate. The three types are "thorns," "spines," and "prickles," apparently. According to these exact definitions, roses actually have prickles rather than thorns, as prickles are derived solely from the plant's outer layer of tissue, whereas thorns also contain portions of... what are called "vascular bundles."
To be honest, I'm rather dumbfounded at the vast amount of knowledge in fields to which I am hardly privy. It would take me a great deal of study to even begin to understand the technical terms associated with many of these subjects.
Regardless, I think the colloquial association of roses with thorns should suffice for anyone who is not a studied botanist. The connection between the two concepts is drawn in so many figures of speech that it would be a nigh impossible task to reconstruct an entire language solely to reflect this meticulous detail.

hello sunday, do you have a favorite robin song?
Greetings, and thank you for your submission. I hope that you are well.
I would jest that I find it harsh to be presented with such a challenging question. Indeed, I am tempted to give the most straightforward possible answer: "All of them."
Regardless, in the spirit of the inquiry, I shall, somewhat regrettably, endeavor to choose one in particular to exalt above the others.
Previously, I have relished the dramatic emotional swells in "If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking" and "Hope is the Thing With Feathers." Each song's mood mirrors the other -- the former somber and the latter triumphant, yet equally intense in their musical progression -- in what I believe is a masterful display of artistry. In that respect, I cannot truthfully claim that I do not count these among my favorite songs of my sister's.
That said, having recently departed Penacony for the final time, I have come to associate these two songs in particular with bittersweet memories. This, in turn, leaves me with a sense of deep anguish. I imagine it will take some time before I can process my feelings on the matter and listen to them again with thorough consideration.
Perhaps oppositely, then, the upbeat tune of "Sway to My Beat in Cosmos" leaves me feeling motivated and deeply refreshed. Moreover, since I boarded the Express, Caelus has approached me with an inquiry about this song in particular. I find that I enjoy having a recent, positive memory to associate with it -- one linked to my new experiences since leaving Penacony. Therefore, having been asked to designate one song of my sister's as my personal favorite, I believe that, in my current state of mind, I will have to select this one. I do hope that you will find this an acceptable answer.
...I realize only after composing this rather lengthy response that I could have responded to this question with a more succinct "no." Even so, I feel that the details I've included here provide a more cohesive impression of my sentiments on the matter.

The Express's data bank has, of course, been a great boon in my ascetic journey, so I am thankful to Dan Heng for granting me access. The amount of knowledge I've gleaned from the data bank is comparable to that contained in all of the anecdotes that March and Pom-Pom have, likewise, shared with me. Needless to say, it's been an intellectually stimulating experience.
I've since come to realize that many unexpected forms of knowledge are relevant to my ultimate goal of constructing a paradise. For instance, I once found myself scouring numerous data bank entries on the lifeforms of aquatic planets; as I've previously mentioned, I am not well-versed in the hard sciences, so, at first, it was difficult to imagine how I might go about utilizing this newfound knowledge. After some contemplation, I came to the conclusion that even the most esoteric knowledge is a microcosm of paradise; its synthesis reflects someone's passion for and dedication to the subject. In other words, encyclopedic knowledge of marine organisms might be a crucial aspect of someone's definition of "paradise," even if that person is not myself.
It seems that paradise comes in many forms. Achieving my goal feels at once significantly closer and yet so much more distant.

The other day, I sent Caelus a message asking whether there was a piano anywhere onboard the Express, and his response was:
"I can make it have one"
...I have to say, I am intrigued by his word choice. Typical Caelus, I suppose.

Hey, Sunday! In a hypothetical universe in which you were a Vision wielder in the world of Teyvat, which elemental Vision do you think you would have?
Hmm, I suppose that depends on if I was granted said Vision by some higher power, or if I was allowed to choose its element myself.
Assuming it's the latter case, I feel I would resonate most with either a Geo or a Cryo vision. I would find satisfaction in manipulating as physical and tangible an element as earth or ice -- especially since these two in particular are capable of forming crystalline structures. Perhaps predictably, I enjoy observing the orderly nature of the crystallization process, though, regrettably in this case, I've never been one for mathematics or science.

I still find myself tempted by the concept of a week consisting of seven consecutive rest days.
Yet, in perusing the Express's data bank, I've encountered a number of novel concepts.
It might be better to say that the concepts are not novel in and of themselves -- rather, that I have read works in which they are applied in novel ways (at least as far as my personal experience goes).
Namely, the terms "enrichment" and "comfort zone" are ones I've heard before, albeit only on occasion. I can't say I have extensive interest in behavioral science, hence my lack of familiarity with these terms. That said, it's all too easy to meander across a staggering range of research topics that are, at best, only tangentially connected... but I digress.
In any case, there are anecdotes of people who follow schedules consisting of those seven consecutive rest days I've previously proposed. It seems that the resulting lack of structure in one's life can, depending on the circumstances, lead to extraordinary, mind-numbing tedium. As it turns out, stress, like many things, is beneficial in moderation -- in this sense, I mean regular engagement with novel concepts and stimuli.
...Much like my exploration of the data bank, I suppose.
Perhaps it's not unreasonable to think we should also set aside time for non-rest activities -- ones that give us a sense of engagement and fulfillment. This would be a logical approach to staving off the boredom that often sets in during a lengthy interval of unstructured time.
...Having mused for this long, I can understand how behavioral science is an entire discipline worthy of study. Perhaps the concept of seven consecutive rest days warrants further research.

Your tie should be on the center line, your shirt must not protrude from your vest, your trouser creases should be perfectly straight, and always aligned with the tips of your shoes...
I've followed this etiquette for as long as I can remember, hence my lingering tendency to repeat it ad nauseam. I've recently begun to give myself permission to deviate from it, at least a little bit at a time.
What I was never told growing up was that the configuration of your attire will naturally vary no matter how impeccably you prepare before leaving the house -- unless, I suppose, everything is permanently stitched together how it should be. (Still, I that would indeed make for a positively cumbersome outfit. In such a case, dressing oneself would be highly impractical, if not outright impossible.)
In reality, one's trousers cannot stay perfectly creased forever; any form of physical exertion so light and regular as walking will gradually erode the integrity of the crease, which will then need to be reestablished. Likewise, a tie will not permanently affix itself to the center line of your shirt.
Invariably, adjustments will have to be made sooner or later. I think that learning to be comfortable making these adjustments -- to fix one's tie and move on -- is a valuable skill in and of itself. Acquiring this skill may not be easy, but I hope it will be a rewarding journey.

Your tie should be on the center line, your shirt must not protrude from your vest, your trouser creases should be perfectly straight, and always aligned with the tips of your shoes.
I used to live by this mantra, so, of course, it would extend to my every experience, including holiday gift exchanges.
There's something satisfying about a flawlessly wrapped present -- I can't deny that.
That said, if every present were indeed wrapped flawlessly, I can't help but wonder whether that wouldn't make them impossible to differentiate.
Perhaps an assortment of presents wrapped with various different methods might be more... visually enriching. Moreover, the handiwork of the wrapping can say a great deal about the sentiments of the person who prepared it. A quirk in the way the paper is folded or in how the bow is tied, or even the choice of wrapping paper itself, might serve as a fond reminder of the friend from whom you received the gift. And what is the occasion of exchanging gifts if not a fond reminder of our loved ones?
Additionally, I can't help but imagine a scenario in which one instead feels great disdain at ruining the impeccable handiwork of a perfectly packaged gift. Yes, presents are wrapped primarily for the presentation, but also for one to experience the joy and excitement of unwrapping them and discovering the surprise inside. Getting too particular about the details could very easily subtract from the experience of exchanging and unwrapping gifts, in the form of precious effort expended on a task of diminishing returns.
In conclusion, I believe I will appreciate a gift regardless of whether it is wrapped in a meticulous manner, or in a way that one might describe as more fun and carefree. As some might say, it's the thought that counts.
Ah, but I have rambled on for quite some time already. My opinion on gifts notwithstanding, I wish you all a festive winter holiday season.
