#inktober day 17 Yet another nameless girl, however this one's not intentional. She is a blind princess who has a third eye on her forehead, which can see the future. She believes that her father wants to kill her. It is her quest to find two more people with similar abilities as hers—a deaf guy who can hear people's hearts and a mute man who can use telepathy. #inktober day 16 This is Cleory. Cleory Hawthorne. She is an archer who goes on an adventure in search of her missing mother. She was first created in 2004, as part of a collaborative story with my best friends—but it didn't work out. I kept her, because I like her design and personality. Her design is altered slightly—added the elbow pads and fingerless gloves, because it seems stupid not to have those as an archer. You might have seen here a couple times on my gallery. #inktober day 15 These four are the last OCs from the same universe as the previous two posts. From left to right, these are Satoru, Akane, Miyuki and Takumi. They are all childhood friends. Akane and Miyuki are twins, and so are Satoru and Takumi. Akane moved away in middle school, after her and Miyuki's parents divorced. They are all reunited in high school. Again, Akane and Miyuki were both my characters on Ragnarök Online. Akane was a swordsman (like Chikaku) and Miyuki was a thief. The colours on their clothes indicate their synonymous personalities. #inktober day 14 Belonging (again) in the same universe as Chikaku and Mikoto, these are (from left to right) Yukiko, Yotsuba and Shinnosuke. Yotsuba used to be Chikaku's closest girlfriend before Melisa came along—and still one of her dearest friends—who's so in on trends and great at makeup and fashion. Yukiko is a part-time model who admires her. Shinnosuke is Mikoto's cousin who has feelings for Yotsuba. Yukiko and Shinnosuke are a year younger than her. Yotsuba and Yukiko are also inspired by my characters from Ragnarök Online. Yotsuba was an archer, Yukiko was a mage. #inktober day 13 Originally created as my OCs for the Pokémon universe, Melisa and Carlos are childhood friends who go their separate ways as Pokémon trainers. Melisa's dream is to become a Pokémon archeologist, while Carlos just wants to travel and see the world. In another universe, they are transfer students who come to Mikoto and Chikaku's school and become their best friends. They are practically nomads, moving from one country to the next very frequently. Their designs are slightly altered to create a bit of diversity among my OCs—in terms of looks. Might also change Carlos's name, because his Spanish-sounding name doesn't suit his light blonde hair. Melisa + Carlos © @aliveasalways

#inktober day 12 The boys from my story 'Shima De.' From left to right are Takuma, Tatsukichi and Kazuki. Takuma is a newcomer on the island. Tatsukichi can never get along with Suzuka and has one-sided feelings for someone else. Kazuki's an orphant who lives with Miku's family. I absolutely love guys' friendships. They're just inherently different from girls'. This pose, in particular, is inspired by my favourite guy threesome IRL. Shima De © @aliveasalways

#inktober day 11 These characters don't have names. They are only called by their defining characteristics: The Heartless Girl and The Guy with the Gun. They used to be best friends, but somewhere along the way ended up being involved in a bloodbath with each other instead. Just so you know, it's a metaphor. #inktober day 10 Three girls from my story called "Shima De" (On the Island). It tells the story of six childhood friends who live on a small island and is set in high school during that transitional period to another chapter of their lives. From left to right, you'll find Ayane (a feminine and mature but one-sided romantic), Suzuka (an energetic, aspiring makeup artist) and Miku (a naïve happy-go-lucky who lives in the moment). I actually set up a whole smackjeeves page for their story, but never got past the covers (the site is no longer available). But, you can find out more about them here. The boys are coming soon! #inktober day 9 Another set of twins. Surprise! These are Koharu (left) and Kohaku (right). They are twins with amazing abilities. Koharu can control mosquitoes, while Kohaku can control ants. They have opposite personalities and fashion sense. They are inspired by mine and my sister's name. Apparently, my name means "ant" in some language I don't know, and my sister's name is kind of similar to mosquitoes. They don't really have a story, but I love their abilities. #inktober day 8 From left to right, these are Hera, Aphrodite and Athena. That's not their actual names, it's their mecha/mobile suit name. Their real name is, thus far, non-existent. Their story also isn't all figured out, but it will involve a whole lot of combat with different choice of weapons. Their story is inspired by the Greek mythology of "The Golden Apple," which is basically the root cause of the Trojan war. Aphrodite, in particular, is inspired wholly by a character from Gun x Sword—as well as the whole mobile suit theme. The Golden Apple © alivegurl

#inktober day 7 Meet Asha and Asthore. They are twin college students, the first children in a household of twins—with two more pairs of twins as younger siblings. Asha is pretty quiet, serious and studious. Asthore is more outgoing, carefree and friendly. They're very popular in their campus. It might be strange to know, but these two (and their siblings) were created because I wanted to design/imagine what my future kids would look like. #inktober day 6 Nana and Lucas are basically a mashup of humans and dogs. Nana is a beagle and Lucas is a german shepherd. Lucas is absolutely smitten with Nana, but she has no clue whatsoever. However, looking back at their origin story, it feels incredibly problematic for me now. So either I'll change it or discard it altogether. They have two more friends who will most likely appear later this month. You might've recognised them from this drawing. They were created when I was in around 6th-7th grade. #inktober day 5 High school best friends, whose friendship fell out, reunite 5 years after graduation, here are Saito and Sawako. Sawako used to be a tomboy with short hair. Saito used to pick her up everyday for school on his bike. Somehow, it just seems that their friendship was cut short and they stopped speaking to each other since they left school. Their reunion brings back memories of promises unkept and words left unsaid. You might've recognised them from <a href="https://www.deviantart.com/alivegurl/art/OC-copic-4-490350888">this drawing</a>. Saito's hair is supposed to be dark brown, but my pen marker doesn't deliver—so are their eyes, tbh. Also, I'm always contemplating how to end their story well. Sawako & Saito © alivegurl

#inktober day 4 Throwing it all the way back to 4th grade, when I created my first ever OCs. These are Tomoya (middle), Sakura (left) and Narita (right). They are high school best friends who have a crush on the same guy. They are inspired by myself and two of my friends who happened to like the same guy back in primary school. I'd like to tell a story where girls can like the same guy and still remain great friends with one another. Way back when, I made a whole comic book of this story and forgot it at school. The very next morning, I found one of my classmates reading the book out loud to the entire class. Probably not ill-intentioned, but it was embarrassing as hell (especially because it was loosely based on true story). #inktober day 3 Meet Ava and Azra. They used to be normal high school students until they somehow got transported to an entirely different world, where they are suddenly the prince and princess of neighbouring kingdoms. They were apparently stolen and sent to another world when they were little.
