Well this is a bit hilarious, yes.

First, I’ve seen academic articles about the nature of fandom which have obviously consulted fandom sources in order to put forth their arguments. So it would hardly be the first time someone from outside of the fandom has looked in and constructed an argument around fandom from what they’ve read and seen.

Indeed that article about various fandom babygates written by a journalist for The Atlantic did something similar, even interviewing famous fandom voices and printing their urls, whilst gently implying the interviewer thought they were delusional misogynists.

As long as everything is legally above board, you can’t advocate for censorship here. People can and will write books about whichever topics they wish. Defamation can be brought up when books allegedly defame someone but there are a lot of defences to defamation, like the defence of truth, honestly held opinion and triviality. Let’s just say I’d pay good money to see the face of a lawyer who gets told someone would like to sue because a book implied the ‘Sony made a baby’ conspiracy they came up with is dumb.

Second, it’s utterly bizarre to me that these people will claim ‘I’m just doing it in fandom spaces’ whilst at the same time purposefully running websites that get mistaken for an artists professional website, eg LTHQ, and running a plastic doll fan page, which is entirely public, with a little view counter at the top - clearly this is someone who enjoys giving their opinions publicly. I mean it’s interesting that these people will harass their families, run a running chronology of a child’s face, organise fourth wall breaking concert projects, drive hours to find a birth certificate, dedicate their every waking moment to a conspiracy theory and promoting it, but then when the real world comes knocking and reminds them they’ve impacted it, they are like ‘it’s just fandom’.

With larries it’s always just fandom when they are called out, and then it goes back to being ‘a quest to save my two innocent gay babies and not just a ship’ when the critical gaze looks elsewhere.

Too bad doll lady, I guess if you don’t want people using your delusional comments as a source for their work, don’t make them in the first place. I know it’s hard for you to understand, but you’re an adult in the real world, and in the real world, people perceive you, you’re accountable.

And yes, isn’t it interesting that they believe this theory so steadfastly but when people from outside it want to actually talk about it and give their views public accountability it’s like ‘wow how dare you’. If your theory is so convincing, what are you so scared of?

People coming out later In life haven’t lied about children being theirs or a relationship being fake, which is why no one yells at them. Either they have discovered their sexuality has changed or wasn’t what they thought, or they always knew and lied to their partners.

But in none of those cases have any marriages been faked, nor have they ever said their kids aren’t theirs. And they’ve always been very warm and caring towards their previous partners.

but how do you think babygate could be explained? he claimed the child four years ago. IF it was a real situation (not saying it is), he would still be the father of that child, even if he didn’t take a DNA test. no one would take it well him “abandoning” a child that he’s been a public father for for the last 4 years. so idk how this could end...

I honestly think they could be like “the child is actually Brett and so and so’s, and Louis just acted as the father to cover up his sexuality” because other celebrities have had whole marriages and families before later coming out and people weren’t like “omg but you lied!!” because like obviously they have to lie. either that or they’ll just comeout and blacklist the baby and never talk about it again lmao but at least with my first option, louis wouldn’t look like a deadbeat father

Much as I’d love for TPTB to *** ** I don’t think it’s going to happen anytime soon. BG was never meant to last this long. But Jays death pushed any ending back, as to see Louis ‘losing’ his son after his mother’s death would be a big deal. Then Fizzy died. And the GP/Media always mention louis’ losses in articles. Imagine ending BG in that climate, when Louis is already seen as having suffered terribly. (This all hinges on BG ending in a paternity test/ he was never Louis’ type thing)

Harry did NOT “go back to London every weekend” and there are not “pap pics, loads”

May 25th is when he was first spotted on Dunkirk’s set. This is HSD’s gallery of paparazzi shots from that time X

Dunkirk was shot in France, Netherlands, Swanage and Weymouth. Swanage and Weymouth are both coastal towns in England. There are four sets of paparazzi shots of Harry in London. One before shooting started, May 10th. A few days later he’d take the Eurostar from London to Lille to get ready for filming

The July 4th one? That’s on a Monday and it’s between moving sets from Dunkirk to Netherlands, so they all clearly had some extended time off. Then the same thing happened on July 23rd, they wrapped up in Netherlands and moved to Swanage. The most likely scenario is that Harry went from Netherlands to London, spent some time there, then went down to Swanage (which is, as I said, still in England). The last set of paparazzi shots of Harry in London are after they wrapped up filming in Europe and before they moved set to LA, which gave the cast a few weeks off.

So, yeah, Harry didn’t “go back home every weekend” at all… In fact, there are paparazzi shots that prove he didn’t. June 16th was on a Saturday and he was out there jogging with the Dunkirk crew, not in London.

He went back home when they had time off from filming, as in, several days/a week off. There aren’t any paparazzi pictures, no fan pictures, no sightings of Harry going back to London every weekend while he was filming. This isn’t the first time I hear this lie and it’s really really insulting because what you’re trying to say is that Harry was going to visit Jay, who was in a London hospital being treated for her leukemia at the time. You’re VILE

You also tried to say that this, which was taken on December 8th in London

was Harry bringing supplies (an electric shaver) for Louis and visiting Jay at the hospital in her last days. Obviously you believed the picture was misdated (Jay passed away the 7th) and mislabeled (she was moved to Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, three hours north of London). Why? Because there was am ambulance in the background

Now we know that Harry was probably visiting his stepfather instead, hence the electric shaver. Robin had been diagnosed with cancer a few years back, he’d been in treatment for a while, had gone through remission and then it came back. He passed away in six months after this

But you don’t learn your lesson, you don’t stop when you realize you were wrong. You don’t even go back to admit you were wrong before! You double down and even go as far as making shit up. The whole “trips back and forth to London” here is proof of that. That just flat out did not happen and there’s no reason for you to believe it did at all. And even more so, if it had happened, you now know that Harry’s stepfather was also ill and undergoing treatment but you make it about Johannah anyway. It’s sick in the head. Harry doesn’t “hibernate and hide from the world a certain amount of days” and he’s not “filmed on specific days” … there’s a mixed bag here of throwback pics and videos, selfies with fans, pictures fans took of him when they met him, pictures fans took of him while he was just walking down the street or in a club, pictures where he posed with friends, pictures where he was just in the background (because he’s… you know… part of their group… and sometimes they’ll film the group and he’ll GASP be there!) .. there isn’t any pattern here, sometimes he’s seen several days in a row, sometimes he’s seen every other day. Sometimes he’s not seen for two days

Nobody needs to prove he’s been there for months (one month, not months). He’s just… been there. There’s nothing to prove or not prove because there’s nothing weird or wrong or good or bad about it. That’s just…. where he chooses to be….

The longest gaps are 5 days between the 13th and the 19th and 3 days between the 26th and the 30th, all the other ones are 2 or less. It takes over 24 hours round trip to go from Japan to Europe/US.You’re gonna have to accept that Harry HAS been in Japan for a month. Of course you won’t because you’re you, but he hasn’t gone back and forth. He physically could have only traveled between the 13th and 19th and it’d be a trip where he’d spend over 24 hours on a plane for less than 4 days on land with tremendous jet lag. Why would anyone think he’s doing that? Aside from your conspiracies, of course

There is no “point”  for “this” because there’s no “this” and who’s this “they” that thinks they’re “smooth and clever” WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT

1. You DO care since you just wrote a new testament of tags about it and have been talking about it non stop since that journalist said Harry was there. He hasn’t been in Japan for months. He’s been in Japan for a month. And nobody wants you to believe anything, it’s just what’s happening!

2. These aren’t random and weird IG stories, these people are living their lives and posting about their days. It just so happens that sometimes Harry is with them and sometimes he takes pics with them or he’s in the background and sometimes he’s probably with some other friends so he’s… not with them (Katsuhisa, for instance, who seems to prefer posting once Harry’s gone). WHO is telling them to post them? And who’s handling the three dozen fans that have sporadically spotted Harry all over Tokyo?

3. IDK who “they” is but Harry is taking a break, so there’s nothing exciting to show about his career right now, because he’s not currently working. You were shown exciting stuff about his career almost non stop from April 2017 till July 2018, then he said he’d take a break to write music and come back, it has been six months…. let him fucking live! He’ll talk about his projects when he wants to promote his projects, which clearly isn’t now, because now he’s TAKING A BREAK. Enjoying his life in Japan! With friends!

And he might even be preparing something for later, who knows? But he’s never shown us the process, he always comes with the finished product and goes “ta-da!” so why would this be any different?

“They” are not “showing” him talking or drinking, that’s…… what……. he’s…… doing…….. His break isn’t for our entertainment, if people are “bored to death” of his stay there, then that’s… fine? Find another hobby until he comes back? I mean, if it was up to me, Anna, you could altogether dip out of Harry (and Louis’) fandom and I think it’d be overall a better place, but we’ve had to put up with you and the damage you do to this fandom since 2013 so I doubt you’re gonna leave us over Harry having a drink with friends in Japan, sadly

Debunking Babygate

A sad masterpost of sorts that I am sorry I even have to make.

First of all, I want to start by stating that I created this blog to serve one purpose: to find truth. Upon discovering Louis and Harry’s rumored relationship, I was torn by the idea that something that seemed so real to me was officially considered a wild conspiracy theory. So, I started this blog to look at all the details. I did not “ship” Louis and Harry, but I believed they were more than friends. It seemed clear to me. I tried to debunk their relationship and I could not. Now, this lead me to babygate. I was so upset by the scale of which Louis and Harry’s relationship appeared to have been covered up that I almost believed it the first time I saw “proof” for BG, but I knew, like most things, there are two sides of a story and you have to view both in order to see the whole picture clearly.  So, I began going through BG proof and trying to see if I could disprove it. To me, this was very easy to disprove, unlike something happening between Louis and Harry. The ease at which I was able to disprove things lead me to the conclusion that Louis did, in fact, have a child. This brought me furthermore to the conclusion that Louis and Harry were likely not together when this child was conceived. 

I didn’t receive the answers I “wanted.” Of course a fairytale perfect love story for Louis and Harry would be what I would want, but what I always wanted more was the truth. On my blog, there is no bending the truth to fit a desired narrative. In fact, I have often posted things and discovered they were debunked later, then updated the posts to reflect their debunked status.  A lot of what I have written have just been theories because there is not enough information to come up with a definitive answer. I’ve tried to make that clear when that is the case. People take theories, even other peoples’ theories, and hold them as facts. This is both problematic and closed-minded. Both “antis” that believe Harry and Louis were never together, and Larries that believe Harry and Louis are still together, ignore massive amounts of evidence that point in different directions because they don’t want it to be true. When a story becomes something you want to believe more than you want the truth, you get fake proof and bogus theories. Unfortunately, it appears a vast majority of the popular 1D blogs fall in this category.

I think a lot of people in this fandom don’t understand how to discern fact from fiction, and I think that might largely be due to age. This is often a skill acquired with age and experience. If you look only at the proof that Eleanor was Louis’ girlfriend, or Taylor was Harry’s girlfriend, you will believe it.  It looks like the truth.  However, if you spend real quality time on a good Larry proof source, you might begin to see things a bit differently.  I’ve spent hours and hours on Elounor and Haylor proof blogs and still found that the evidence and timeline for Louis and Harry’s relationship was stronger. Similarly, those that already believe Larry is real tend to take any babygate “proof” as fact, or, at the very least, as a solid argument. In order to really see if something is, in fact, credible, you have to look at the other side of the story, no matter how painful that may be. In the case of “babygate,” the other side of the story paints a very different picture.

“You only get half of the story…” - Louis Tomlinson

I received the following ask, so I am going to address the points made as well as some others.

1. Firstly, the opinion that Freddie is Brett’s twin is a subjective opinion. I strongly disagree, as do many others. Aside from having blonde hair and blue eyes, I see nothing in common. His lips and nose look exactly like Louis’ to me.  This doesn’t debunk anything, it just proves that visually, there is no proof to be gained. You cannot prove or disprove parentage based on looks unless maybe race is involved, but since Freddie is white with blue eyes and so are both Brett and Louis, that leads us nowhere. To me, Louis’ nose and mouth as a child look near identical to Freddie’s.

2. Once again, the thing about Calvin cannot be used at proof for several reasons. First of all, it came from an update account and in terms of proof it is as weak as Anastasia Steele’s tea (I am sorry for this reference). It is hearsay. There is no proof that he said that. Second of all, it is ludicrous to assume you can know the date Briana would have gotten pregnant. Assuming she carried to full term, which it appears she did, there was a good window of 2-3 weeks that she could have gotten pregnant. 

Full-term is considered 39 weeks through 40 weeks and 6 days. That is nearly 3 weeks.  That means there is a three week period in which a woman can get pregnant and still have a full-term pregnancy.  However, babies are often born a week early and are perfectly healthy, which would extend the window that B could have gotten pregnant to four whole weeks!

3. Her bump did not disappear. This is one of the proofs that bothers me the most. I don’t know who first suggested this. She is sitting down, far away in the picture and wearing all black, which makes it hard to see.  Even so, I can clearly see the bump, so I assume everyone that “doesn’t see it” doesn’t want to see it. You can tell from the other picture taken in that dress that she was carrying rather low, so the bump wouldn’t have been big right under her bust line.

Carrying low:

People love to ridicule Briana’s pregnant body and say her belly looked weird or was not big enough. After having worked with hundreds of pregnant women, I can tell you this: no pregnancy is the same. The way women look during pregnancy and carry their child depends on genetics, age, whether it is a first pregnancy or not, their natural body size, etc. Many young, fit women have smaller bumps for their first pregnancy. To compare Briana’s 8 month belly to another woman’s is fundamentally wrong and proves nothing.

Additionally, look at all the people in that picture. All those people knew her and saw her. I am to believe they were ALL in on babygate? That seems like a lot of moving players and way too many NDAs.

4. While I don’t understand why people that lie do what they do, it kind of doesn’t matter that Ashley stole some pic of a random girl in the hospital (or other times).  She was probably craving attention and not being given any pictures.  She was really riding on the coat tails of Briana’s momentary fame. The thing is, we do have real pictures of Briana in the hospital bed, wearing the hospital gown, with a newborn Freddie, as well as other pictures taken in the hospital.  So, that real picture cancels out whatever Ashley did earlier on in the day, despite how shady it was.

5. Guess what? Briana did NOT have a nose job while pregnant. Below are two pictures of her.  The one on the left was taken before she got pregnant/when she and Louis were hanging out. The one on the right was taken the day she left the hospital with Freddie. Clearly, her nose is exactly the same.

The pictures used to “prove” she had a nose job while pregnant are terrible pictures of her that do not properly show how she looks.

6. How is the lack of a video of Freddie being called by his name proof? I take videos of people all the time and rarely do I call them by their name. If there is no video of him being called Freddie, then we cannot assume he does not respond to it. There is no logic there.  This is a very weak point.

7. The newborn Freddie looks very much like the Freddie we see today. The reason for his temporary medical helmet was never disclosed, but it doesn’t matter.  I also don’t know what pierced ear picture you are talking about, but below is a picture of Lottie with Freddie.  You cannot fake this kind of love.  You cannot force an entire family to fake a relationship with a child.

You could not have forced Jay to fly to America to play a part in such a sick and twisted lie.

8. People state that Briana carried the carrier out of the hospital and no woman that just gave birth would have done that.  The picture that they always use is to prove this, is this one:

This picture was actually NOT taken when she left the hospital. This picture was taken when she brought Freddie out of the house for the first time. Louis carried Freddie out of the hospital right after he was born:

People also like to make a big deal about the fact that Briana walked out of the hospital instead of being pushed in a wheelchair. I worked on the maternity floor of a hospital for over a year and young mothers that gave birth vaginally without complication were often completely fine to walk out of the hospital. It really depends on the mother.

9. People act like Briana was planned for awhile to be “the mother” of his “fake child.” What is interesting is April 25, 2015 this article was printed. The article was titled:

The girl in question was the girl in this picture with him, not Briana.

Several other girls were also pictured in the article and a group of girls were mentioned, but none were Briana.  The thing is, Briana was there.  Why would she be left out of an article if they were “seeding” this relationship, trying to lead up to BG?

Briana can also be seen in this video. She is the first one to enter the building before Louis says, “das your fookin job you fookin loosah!” to the pap. (The title that mentions her by name was changed after she had been identified as the mother of his child.)

10. Even more interesting is the fact that the following pictures are not widely circulated.  The first one is actually pretty hard to track down outside of some Briana timeline tumblr posts. It was taken on May 5th, which would have been around the time B got pregnant. Wouldn’t they have been widely circulated if they were only taken to “prove” a fake relationship.

When has Louis ever had a moment like this with Eleanor? Did he suddenly, overnight, become not only a good actor, but also suddenly agree to go along with stunts to this extreme? He had more chemistry with Briana than he ever displayed with El.

10. People say Briana was never pregnant. I’d like to end this right now. She clearly had a post-partum body.  She gained weight in her face and thighs during the pregnancy, and that was visible. With a strapped on pillow tummy, that would not have been the case.  Additionally, her saggy belly was visible shortly after giving birth.  She is young and naturally slim, so she “snapped back” quickly, but there are still pictures that show she was obviously pregnant.

11. People have stated that Louis never got a paternity test because it is not public record. They state there was never a custody hearing/agreement. I went so far as to speak to a lawyer about this who said that nearly every single celebrity will have these records sealed, so there is absolutely no way to prove he did not get them.

Here is the thing, whether he got a paternity test or not, his name is on that birth certificate. So, guess what that means? Legally, he is claiming him as his son. Since Briana was, in fact, pregnant and she and Louis looked very cozy together around the time she got pregnant, it would not be out of the realm of possibility that it is biologically his as well.

There are a lot of other things people use as proof, but this post would literally never end if I tried to debunk them all. These are the major points and a lot of the tiny things are so ridiculous that I don’t see the point in debunking them. A lot of things have debunked themselves over time. People thought the pictures of Louis and his kid were fake/photoshopped originally, but clearly there was a real baby, so why would they have photoshopped anything? People thought the baby was a doll initially, but that was also proven false with time.  There are a lot of strange things that occurred PR-wise with this kid.  The early announcement of the pregnancy and all of Louis’ pap-walks with the kid were so bizarre and I don’t have an explanation for them, but they cannot be used as proof that the kid is not his.

I leave some final questions for those that believe in BG to mull over:

If they wanted to make the baby a big deal/hide H&L’s relationship, why did they ban the discussion of the kid from MITAM promo and allow H&L to sit together? Don’t these things completely contradict each other? Management also “allowed” (aka most likely orchestrated) RBB for promo, so why would they simultaneously use H&L’s relationship for promo/larrybaiting while trying to cover up their relationship with an elaborately orchestrated fake baby stunt that has lasted years into hiatus? 

When, in the history of ever, has a “fake baby” been a thing that was pulled off and carried out for years to forcibly closet someone? Bearding is a thing. Not fake babies.

The kid was born after the hiatus, but before Louis went solo. What purpose does this serve? Timing wise, how does this make any sense? Who was pulling the strings for this to happen to essentially out-of-work Louis?

If Louis is the underdog whose album is being held back, thus the one who is making zero profit for Sony at the moment, why would they invest millions into an elaborate and very risky fake baby scandal for nearly four years? They’d be hemorrhaging money over an artist they essentially don’t support and receive very little profit from.

Parting thoughts: I know we, as a fandom, are all obsessed with Louis and follow every breath he takes, so we care about the baby’s existence and what that means. You know who doesn’t care about the baby or even know he has a kid? The general public. Louis is NOT that famous outside of the 1D bubble. Most people couldn’t pick Louis out of a line-up of 2. Most people have never heard of him. So, essentially, this elaborate, risky, incredibly involved “stunt” would be just to try to get to Larries?  That’s essentially what Larries believe. This is for their benefit, so they might change their mind about Louis’ sexual orientation or his relationship with Harry. Seems unrealistic.

Additionally, I beg of anyone that is reading this to have some sympathy. These are real people you are calling names, making bizarre theories about, and harassing. Even if you’ve read through this whole post and still think the kid is Brett’s, and Briana was never pregnant, you should know that you cannot be 100% sure.  If there is even 1% chance that the kid is Louis’ and Briana’s, they need to be respected.  Briana may be young and still party while her parents watch the kid a lot, but she is a young single mom that loves her son dearly, and all the hate she gets from the 1D fandom is surely eating her up inside.

Wait what did Armstrong do? People were saying Louis kept texting him throughout the live and wanted it to end? And something about discussing someone else’s private life or something? I liked that he defended Eleanor, but what else did he do?

Normally I’d be peeved that you’re asking me what happened in a video that I just posted but dang that thing is 40 minutes long and a lot of the time he’s responding to things that people are typing and honestly I skipped around a bit too. But from what I saw, none of this is accurate at all.

1) He did some sort of livestream where people could skype in. I think he does these regularly, but in this one he mostly was addressing how people flipped out in his instagram comments after he tagged Eleanor in this picture (it’s just a promo pic of him but he tagged a bunch of people including Louis and Eleanor). He was basically just asking people to be positive. He has that sort of inspirational, positive energy thing going, but he also specifically mentioned how great Eleanor has been and how people don’t know other people’s lives.

I skipped most of the first two people he skyped with, although at 16 minutes he goes through how weird some of these comments look when they insist Louis isn’t really dating Eleanor. The third was a Larrie who basically was saying ��yes some larries are mean but most of us are just INNOCENT VICTIMS and it’s US who get harassed all the time.” And Armstrong was kind of just boggled and was extremely sweet to her but still called out Larries for treating Eleanor so badly. 

There was also a moment that really hit me where he asked a Larrie if they would do this to him if he ever said he was dating someone.

Mostly he just spends the entire time asking people to send love, not hate.

2) After literally 40 minutes of Armstrong talking to people about Larries, when he’s already wrapping things up, he got a text and said “well, the boss has said to end that convo, so that’s what I’m gonna do.” At 17 minutes into the video he had said “ok i’ll just talk to one more person and then I’ve got to go, I’m late for everything” and then he talked to two more people for over 20 more minutes. No one rushed him off the video.

3) He talked about how crazy it is that he literally just tagged Eleanor, an ACTUAL PERSON HE KNOWS, on instagram and then had to go do a livestream to address all the nasty personal comments he saw addressed towards her, and yet somehow people yell at HIM for discussing Louis’s private life. At 8:45 he reads a message that’s “this is none of anyone’s business” and he’s like “YES THAT’S SO TRUE… so why are there comments about it all over my instagram post now.”

All he did was try to call out this bizarre and awful behavior that he’s suddenly been confronted with while also trying to keep his positive attitude and be nice to people. When Larries get mad about someone discussing Louis’s personal life, they mean acknowledging the basic facts of the people who are in his life. And Larries are the only ones in this entire scenario who discussed anything personal. All Armstrong did was say “I like Eleanor, they are really dating, don’t be mean to her.” And all Larries can say in response to that is “why did he have to talk about her???” when IT’S BECAUSE OF THEM. They brought this entire thing on themselves, all Armstrong wants to do is talk about all his future plans in music and instead he has to do a whole video telling people not to flood his instagram with misogyny and delusion.

I think it’s really tragic and twisted that the best day of someone’s life is the announcement that a couple with a baby are splitting up.

Bear is still going to be Liam’s son. Liam will end up dating someone else and probably having another baby and I’m sure there’ll be a reason why that’s fake as well. At some point you have to look at your lives and beliefs and think ‘why don’t I spend as much time on myself and what my dreams are?’ and then hopefully you’ll leave conspiracy theories behind.

i’ve been trying to find a way to properly articulate this for a while, so bear with me if this isn’t the best way to word this, but it’s something i felt the need to finally post in light of recent events. larries and their cringy behavior is entertaining to poke fun at and pick apart, understandably. but i just think it’s important to also say and realize the fact that the whole system of larries on this website, namely “big” larries, and how they treat their following is seriously, SERIOUSLY fucked up. beyond what anyone outside looking in could possibly know, honestly. these are grown women, mostly over the age of 30, who control and manipulate a following of (mostly) very young, impressionable girls. they are systematically fed lies and bullied, their minds are so forcibly twisted by this strange, dangerous mentality that they don’t even realize what‘s going on. they’re threatened if they try to leave. they can’t distinguish reality from this fantasy world that these bigger blogs of grown women, (who DEDICATE THEIR LIVES TO THIS, mind you,) have created for them. its a shitty power complex for them, and i know this from first hand experience. i was manipulated by them, myself, at a young age. literally got death threats at the age of 13 for questioning “larry”. this has led to actual predatory behavior in the past, too, if some of you can recall. something needs to be done, something should be done, and i encourage blogs to be open for these young ex larries that are trying to get out. that’s something i wish i had.
