A breath of air rushed out of Dani's lungs as soon as Santana pulled away and whispered the words she already knew. But god, did she love hearing them anyway. "I want you too," she murmured, reaching up to pepper kisses to the girl's lips and down her neck as her hands continued to palm at her girlfriend's ass cheeks needily. She swallowed thickly and lifted her back off the bed as much as she could to make it easier for Santana to reach her goal, another soft moan escaping her lips with Santana's words.
She rolled her hips against Santana's and groaned, reaching around the front to unbutton her shorts and slide them down as much as she could without moving away from Santana's touch. It was like she desperately needed each touch, goosebumps rising on her skin despite the way it felt like it was on fire where ever Santana's hand touched. Dani's fingers drifted up Santana's back after she gave up on the other girl's shorts and unsnapped her bra, tossing it aside without a care. Where their clothes ended up the last thing on her mind at the moment.
With heavy lids, her eyes scanned the beauty above her, heart picking up speed at a seemingly impossible rate. "So are you," she breathed finally, her eyes raising to meet Santana's. "So so perfect."

Santana’s body shuddered as Dani’s weight settled above her, the fingers that tangled in her hair only spurring her on as she nipped and sucked at Dani’s full lips. The hand on Dani’s thigh slid higher while the other moved to press low against her back, holding their bodies tight together, as though Santana were afraid Dani might disappear if she weren’t pressed right up against her. It felt like that sometimes - like the other girl were simply a dream, and if Santana didn’t hold on tight enough, she’d disappear right before her eyes.
She rolled them once more, shifting so that she was on top as she reached for the hem of Dani’s dress, tugging on it gently and using her free hand to lift the other girl slightly so that she could pull it away from her body completely, discarding the fabric over the side of the bed without ever taking her eyes from Dani’s. “You’re beautiful,” she murmured, bracing herself on hands at either side of Dani’s head as she fell into another kiss, murmuring “I love you”s as she pressed against her girlfriend’s now bare skin. She ached to feel it against her own, and sat up once again, tugging her own shirt over her head before tossing it carelessly behind her.
The first touch of their bare torsos ripped a moan from deep in Santana’s throat, and she couldn’t help the way she pressed and slid her body against Dani’s, relishing the feel of skin sliding against warm skin.
A breathless gasp fell from her lips when she suddenly found herself underneath her girlfriend, and felt her tugging on her dress. Biting down on her bottom lip, Dani braced her elbow on the bed so she could assist in taking off her dress. She felt a shiver run down her back from Santana's gaze alone, a soft smile playing at the corner of her lips before leaning forward to meet the other girl's in another firm kiss, tugging gently at the girl's bottom lip between her teeth.
Dani's hand found it's way under Santana's shirt, smoothing it over the girl's bare skin before she was pulling away and tugging the offending piece of clothing off much to Dani's approval. As soon as their bare skin met, Dani let out a moan of her own that mixed perfectly with Santana's. "You're so perfect,"she murmured, letting her hands resume their previous roaming, needing to touch as much as Santana as she possibly could, loving the way the touch of her bare skin under her fingertips felt.
Her hands wondered until they found the hem of Santana's shorts and she slipped them underneath so that she could palm her cheeks and pressed her impossibly closer. At this point, she thought Santana might be able to feel the way her heart was pumping in her chest but she didn't care. She actually hoped she could so the girl would have yet another clue to how she affected her.

Dani smiled against Santana's lips. More than any promise she'd ever heard, she knew she could believe what Santana said was true. That she could count on her to always be there. That she would always be there and that wasn't a feeling that Dani was particularly used to. But she could feel that promise whenever her and Santana were together, whenever they kissed or touched or passed "I love you"'s. It had to be quite literally the best feeling in the entire world.
It was easy to melt into the other girls kisses, kissing back just as fiercely and letting out a soft moan as Santana rolled underneath her. Dani braced herself above her with her elbow on the bed and her fingers tangling into the other girls hair as she pressed her body into Santana's. The contact as she rolled her hips caused a shudder to run down her back and another muffled moan to pass between her lips. As close as they were, it wasn't enough. It was almost never enough. They rarely had moments alone anymore and she planned on taking full advantage of it now- especially during a moment that felt as significant as this one. She'd had almost completely forgotten about the days earlier events at this point. All that mattered was what was right in front of her.

As soon as Dani hit the bed, and felt Santana against her, it was like the best feeling in the entire world. "I was hoping you would say that," she whispered as her fingers trailed down Santana's back, re-memorizing every contour and shape to her girlfriend's body. Every time they were this close it felt like the first time- even after all of this time- Santana still managed to give her goosebumps whenever they kissed or fill her stomach with butterflies whenever she touched Dani. Her inner thigh seemed to tremble even at Santana's teasing touch.
Her lips curled into a smile against Santana's lips, pausing one of her hands pausing to press into the other girl's lower back, holding her exceptionally close. "I love you too," she murmured without breaking the slow kiss between them. She pressed forward after that, deepening the kiss for just a moment before pulling away. Only to reach up and cradle Santana's head in her hands, her thumb brushing along her girlfriend's cheek and her fingers tangling in her long hair. "So so much," she added, pressing another quick kiss to Santana's soft lips. "You have no idea how much it means to me that I can come to you after everything." Maybe the days events had made her a little sentimental, but she felt like then was a better time than any to make sure Santana knew how much she meant to her.

Santana listened quietly as Dani spoke, trying to ignore the resonating sting in her heart as she thought of her own family members that had practically raised her - family members that still wouldn’t acknowledge her existence. But no, tonight wasn’t about her, tonight was about Dani, and Santana was going to make sure the confused relief she heard in her girlfriend’s voice was something she watched over, not ready to let Dani get hurt by the people that had hurt her so greatly before.
"I’m really happy for you," she murmured into the kiss, before she was being led to the loft towards her curtained bedroom, a smile forming on her lips as she allowed her eyes to trail appreciatively down to Dani’s backside. Before she knew it, they were in the privacy of her curtains, Dani pulling her down onto the bed with a soft "oof," her hair falling to curtain their faces as lips were pressed against hers once more.
"I think that sounds like the perfect plan to me," she murmured against soft lips, the hand not currently playing with the strands of Dani’s hair shifting lower to tease at the hem of the dress she’d unknowingly helped Dani pick out for the night. She couldn’t help but smile at the memory, her fingers tracing along the edge of the fabric before stroking along the smooth skin of Dani’s thigh. "I love you," she hummed against her girlfriend’s lips, content in a way she could only be when they were like this, the two of them closed off from the world, cocooned not only by the curtains that surrounded them but by each other’s presence. "So damn much."

Dani smiled and nodded, locking her fingers behind Santana's neck. "I think so." She looked down and twisted some of her girlfriend's hair around her fingers. "It was strange, but it was nice seeing them. I didn't realize how much I missed them until I was seeing them again. They weren't perfect, but they still raised me, y'know?" It was such a strange feeling and it was almost dificult to explain and to anyone else it might have been even harder trying to explain it, but she loved Santana and things were just easier with her.
As soon as she felt her girlfriend press up against her and their lips connected, a soft moan slipped past her lips. Her hands unlinked from their loose position so that she could more easily tangle them in Santana's hair and cup the back of her head. Her lips curved into a soft smile when they broke apart, a content sigh leaving her lips as she leaned her forehead against Santana's.
Without a word, Dani slid her hands down to tangle with her girlfriend's, bringing them up to kiss her fingers before sliding out from between her and the wall and tugging her to the part of the loft that was Santana's bedroom. She climbed into the bed and tugged Santana down with her and pressed against her again. "As relieved as I am that tonight went well, I really just want to enjoy the rest of my night with girlfriend," she smiled, leaning over to press her lips to Santana's again.

Santana’s eyes lifted from where they had been examining every inch of Dani’s body to find her lips when the other girl suddenly spoke, unable to help the way her own lips curled into a smile at the way Dani had been able to read the question that was so obviously brewing in Santana’s mind. “Yeah?” she asked softly, feeling relief flood through her. The hesitation was definitely still there, and she wasn’t going to put her trust into Dani’s parents yet, but her girlfriend seemed to be okay so far, and Santana’s shoulder’s relaxed significantly at the thought.
"I’m glad it went well, babe," she said softly, leaning in to steal a quick kiss from Dani’s lips before pulling back again, her hands moving to settle on her girlfriend’s hips. "I’m guessing that means you’re glad that you went?" She knew Dani had been a bit unsure and back and forth leading up to the actual dinner, and the last thing she wanted was for the other girl to have any regrets when it came to handling the situation with her parents.
Unable to help herself, she leaned in again, pressing their lips together in a full kiss as her grip on Dani’s hips tightened. Her body moved forward almost on auto pilot, pressing fully against her girlfriend as she hummed into the contact. “Sorry,” she murmured as she broke the kiss, keeping their bodies pressed together, “I’ve just been dying to do that all night.”

There was never anything as comforting and calming as being held in Santana's arms. Even when she didn't realize just how much she needed feel her strong arms wrapped around her, it was always one of the best feelings. She was positive her other top feelings all had to do with her girlfriend as well, and seriously- it was no wonder that this girl was the love her life.
Her lips easily found Santana's, as they always did. Her arms snaked around Santana's to return her embrace just as tightly just before she found her definitely pinned to the door. Her eyes slid shut automatically and she reveled in every touch from Santana before she pulled away all too soon as far as Dani was concerned.
Dani kept her eyes closed until after Santana spoke, the corner of her lips curling into a smile. "I missed you too," she whispered, finally opening her eyes and almost immediately meeting the other girl's gaze as she did. Dani loosened her hold on Santana only I slide her hands around to find Santana's hands and bring them around between them. She gave them a gentle squeeze before lifting them up to kiss her girlfriend's knuckles.
"It went surprisingly well," Dani said suddenly, her voice unnaturally timid as she answered an unasked question that she could practically feel buzzing in the air between them.

Santana sat at the edge of the couch as she waited for Dani to arrive, knee bouncing anxiously and her phone clenched almost painfully in her hand. She could see Kurt giving her glances out of the corner of her eye, but she ignored him, knowing that if she opened her mouth to brush she’d end up snapping and probably saying a lot more than she needed to. Dani hadn’t said anything went horrible, and she hadn’t been called to rush there and save the day, but she wouldn’t feel right again until her girlfriend was there and she could see for herself that everything was okay.
There was just something about the entire situation that threw Santana. Estranged family matters didn’t just show up out of the blue and decide to patch things up, and as happy and hopeful as she was for Dani, she knew she had to be the overly cautious and protective one in this situation. There was no way she was going to let them break Dani’s heart all over again. They’d only briefly touched on the subject a few times, but the hurt Santana had seen brewing in those eyes anytime her parents were mentioned was enough to make Santana want to rip them to shreds at first sight.
The second she heard the door begin to slide open, she was up off her feet, relief flooding through her when she took in Dani’s appearance and saw that she seemed to be relatively okay. It threw Santana a bit, but she didn’t dwell on it at that moment, choosing instead to return Dani’s smile before pulling her into her arms, lips pulled by some unknown gravitational force to her girlfriend’s own as she fumbled to shut the door behind her.
"Hi," she murmured quietly when she finally pulled away, eyes flickering open while she guided Dani’s back to gently find the now closed sliding door that led to the hallway outside of their apartment. "I missed you."

Dani waved to her parents, barely controlling the shaking in her hands as she walked around the corner. She reached for phone almost as soon as she had turned from her parents and typed out a quick message to Santana that she was on her way. She could still feel her heart pounding in her chest and she didn't think it ever slowed the entire dinner. She still felt on edge despite the fact that dinner had gone well and she couldn't wait to get to the loft and see her girlfriend and hold her in her arms.
The weather was nice, maybe they could go up to the roof again. A tiny smile started to form at the corner of her lips as memories of their previous visits to the roof started to spring up. There was something about that roof that never failed to bring a certain peace to everything and she could feel her heart rate slowing just thinking about it.
Dani weaved in and out of the NYC traffic until she found the nearest subway, needing to get to Santana's as soon as possible. She knew that Santana had probably been waiting for her the entire night and she didn't want to keep her waiting any longer.
It took a little bit of time, but finally Dani was making her way into the elevator that would take her up to Santana's loft. Santana knew she was coming, so she didn't bother with knocking. Instead she just let herself in, immedately spotting Santana as soon as she walked through the sliding door, a bright smile breaking out across her face instantly.

Santana: Okay. Let me know when you do and exactly when so I can make sure I take off work and stuff. As long as you're sure. But of course. I'll have my phone on loud and everything.
Santana: I love you. You know that, right?
Dani: I'll make sure to do that and I'll call you immediately after the dinner if I don't need to call you before that, okay?
Dani: I know and I love you too.

Santana: Fingers and toes, babe.
Santana: I know. And I love you, too.
Santana: When are you gonna see them? Do I need to like...hide two tables over? Be waiting outside? Whatever you need...I'll do it.
Dani: I'll get on that.
Dani: In a few days, I have to call them back and let them know for sure. I don't think that will be necessary, but maybe just.. be ready in case I call?
