Faith - a little bit goes a long way
4K posts
God is so amazing to me. Every day Hebrews 11 becomes more and more real to me. Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, and Rahab taught me to step out on faith! A mustard seed of faith is sometimes all it takes.

Your heart is deceitful above all things (Jer 17:9). It lies to you more than anyone else, but you believe your heart. It is desperately wicked, so its lies are always toward folly and sin. Because your heart is so deceitful and wicked, you cannot fully grasp its danger to you, apart from Scripture’s warnings. The verse concludes, “Who can understand it?”
Safety is only by mistrusting your heart; obeying your teachers, parents, and counselors; bringing every thought into captive obedience to Scripture; and keeping your heart there with all diligence (Pr 4:23; II Cor 10:4-6). Do not ever let your mind think outside the word of God (Ps 119:128). Which means you must learn it, and learn it well (Ps 119:11). Do not ever allow the profane thought you can get away with disobeying (Deut 29:18-20).
Other proverbs also teach this warning. “There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Pr 16:25). “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkens unto counsel is wise” (Pr 12:15). “He that trusts in his own heart is a fool: but one who walks wisely, he shall be delivered” (Pr 28:26).
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?"
— Jeremiah 17: 9 (ESV)

Monday prayer:
Dear God, thank You for the opportunity to spend quality time with those who are near and dear to my heart. Many things are screaming for my attention but help me to see the blessing of pausing and enjoying their company.
Guide me as l intentionally choose to build a beautiful life by spending time with the people You’ve blessed me with. Help me to engage with them and love them. In Jesus’ name l pray. Amen.

If I were Satan and wanted to make you hate God, I would use deception, manipulation, and emotional tactics to turn you away from Him. Here’s how:
1. Plant Doubt About God’s Goodness
- I’d whisper, "If God is loving, why does He allow suffering?"
- I’d make you focus only on hardships and tragedies, making you think God is cruel or distant.
2. Corrupt Your View of Christianity
- I’d highlight the worst examples of religious people—hypocrites, corrupt leaders, and extremists—to make you think all Christians are like that.
- I’d convince you that following God means losing your freedom, fun, or individuality.
3. Fill Your Life with Distractions
- I’d keep you so busy, entertained, or obsessed with material things that you’d stop thinking about God altogether.
- I’d make sin seem enjoyable and harmless, so you’d see God’s commands as restrictive rather than protective.
4. Use Pain and Betrayal
- I’d make sure people who claim to be Christians hurt you so you’d associate God with their actions.
- I’d twist your suffering into proof that “God doesn’t care about you.”
5. Encourage Pride and Self-Sufficiency
- I’d make you think, "I don’t need God. I can figure life out on my own."
- I’d promote the idea that believing in God is outdated, foolish, or weak.
6. Distort Scripture
- I’d take Bible verses out of context, making you believe God is unfair, harsh, or contradictory.
- I’d twist theology so you see God as a tyrant rather than a loving Father.
7. Make You Angry at God
- I’d push the idea that God didn’t answer your prayers because He doesn’t care.
- I’d convince you that God is unjust, letting evil people prosper while good people suffer.
The best way to resist these tactics is to seek truth, study Scripture for yourself, and develop a personal relationship with God rather than basing your faith on emotions or negative experiences.
