StudyAbroad: Abu Dhabi Has Been Ranked Second Globally In A New Study Of Best Cities
Abu Dhabi has ranked second on a global round up of cities according to the best place to live, work and do business. Coming second to New York, the capital topped the list, overtaking both Paris and London on the Ipsos City Index. More than 18,000 people were interviewed for the study - aged 16-64, in 26 countries. Director general of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, Saif Saeed Ghobash said: "The rise of Abu Dhabi in this global ranking is testament to the ongoing efforts to establish the emirate as not only a tourist destination of distinction, but a location that international communities want to work, live and do business in. "It’s distinct popularity among the younger generations highlight the need for global cities to diversify and innovate to sustain their position and strength as business and tourism hubs." Processing UAE visa application to take just 5 minutes A new visa system launched on Tuesday means people now need not visit centers to obtain their entry permits and visas, announced the Ministry of Interior. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs of the Ministry of Interior has launched a new system for smart services, 'E-Channels', as part of the UAE 2021 Vision, which allows UAE nationals and residents to obtain entry permits and visas in only 10 minutes. The Ministry of Interior said the new system will allow customers to have their applications completed without having to visit visa centers, adding: "This is a pioneering step to ensure speedy process and accuracy in the visa and residency services." Experts estimated the process to not exceed 10 minutes, according to tests and trials of the new system. However, if the applicant does visit a typing center, the process is estimated to only take five minutes. The new system goes under the slogan: 'Smart Services, Future Vision.' Brigadier Mansour Ahmad Al Daheri, Director of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, said the new system will be effective for all customers and aims to cut the number of customers visiting visa centers by a whopping 80 per cent in 2018. He added that through the modern system, customers will not have to provide hardcopy documents, and can simply provide all the required documents and information through the application process online. "Some entry visas may be issued within a few minutes," added the ministry. Private-public partnerships have been at the core of this transition as they have established new institutions and lifted qualitative performance of existing institutions through increasing efficiencies with the application of technology and introduction of new subject areas in order to adapt and respond to changing market circumstances and demands. One of the major advantages of studying in the UAE comes due to its strategic location that allows its provinces to be positioned within a 5 hour radius of half of the world's population, bridging Asia to the West. To station the UAE as an attractive destination, the government has invested heavily in infrastructure combining its natural surroundings intelligently with artificial architecture to create cities that are optimal both in appearance and functionality. Owing to these and more reasons a large number of students are opting to study in UAE.

StudyAbroad: Russia predict  to triple international enrolment by 2025
Russia has announced a new international recruitment programme that is designed to dramatically expand foreign enrolment in the country’s higher education institutions. Under the Ministry of Education and Science’s “Development of the export potential of the Russian education system” programme, approved an executive council of the government on 30 May 2017, Russia wants to build its international enrolment from just under 220,000 students today to nearly 310,000 by 2020 (a 40% increase). The programme also sets a long-term strategy to build Russia’s foreign student base to 710,000 students by 2025. This is, to say the least, an ambitious strategy, and one that builds on recent forecasts by Gulnara Krasnova, lead researcher at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration‘s Institute of Applied Economic Research (RANEPA). Dr Krasnova points out that the population of foreign students at Russian universities has grown by an average annual rate of 9% since 2003. If that average growth holds through 2029/30, Russia’s international enrolment would rise to roughly 670,000 students. The newly announced strategy clearly relies on even more aggressive annual growth rates. With implementation underway as of May 2017, the programme will initially be rolled out to group of 20 leading Russian institutions, and then to all universities in the country by 2021. Its major components include: Strengthened support services for international students Expanded English-medium degree programmes An increasing range of joint programmes, pathway options, summer programmes, and online programmes On this last point, there are roughly 100,000 foreign students enrolled in distance and online learning programmes with Russian institutions currently, and these numbers are also forecast to increase sharply through 2025. The Russian news agency TASS reported on 23 June that the Science and Education Ministry has brought forward new legislation to ease visa regulations for visiting students. Under the current rules, foreign students can only apply for an initial three-month visa on beginning their programmes in Russia, and are then required to go through regular one-year renewals during their studies. However, under the proposed legislation the maximum term for study visas would be extended to three years. In a recent summary, Russia hardly figured at all among the world’s leading study destinations in 2001. However, in the following 15 years it has gone on to earn a significant market share. As of 2016, Russia was the destination of choice for 6% of the world’s internationally mobile students – making it the 8th-largest host of foreign students after the US, UK, Australia, China, Canada, Germany, and France.

Study Abroad MBBS: Now, pay Rs 9-25 lakh for MBBS seat
StudyAbroad: As per the fee structure on the website, Kochi-based Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences has declared a fee of Rs 15 lakh per seat. Even as the Supreme Court has brought the MBBS admissions of deemed universities in the country under the ambit of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), they continue to be beyond the reach of financially weak, but meritorious students. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the directorate-general of health services, Union ministry of health and family welfare, opened its website on Wednesday for students to register themselves for participating in its counseling for MBBS course under deemed universities. It also published the fees in these 38 universities in the country. They can register their choices on the website from Friday.   Interestingly, the shoddy way in which the website has put out the details is revealed from the NRI fee given against the name of three medical colleges. It is the same as the regular fee while it is shown against the $ sign, which makes it a phenomenal sum. The three colleges are the SDU Medical College, Kolar, Smt B.K.Shah Medical Institute& Research Centre, Vadodara, and Sri Sidhartha Medical College, Tumkur. “There is no rationale for allowing such a wide range of fee structure between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. The UGC, the MCI and the Central government have the responsibility to enforce a reasonable fee structure for the sector to enable meritorious students to study in such institutions,” said Dr S. Rajookrishnan, former joint commissioner of entrance examinations. “Everyone was under the impression that the fee in deemed universities will come down once NEET ranklist is made applicable to them. The government could have regulated their fees to a reasonable level on the strength of the Supreme Court order which made NEET applicable to the deemed universities also. However, sadly that has not happened. The SC order making NEET ranklist applicable to deemed universities has effectively wiped out several unhealthy practices that have so far happened in their admissions and this is the right time for the government to intervene to enforce a reasonable fee structure also,” said Mr Rajendran Puthiyedath, an education expert based in Kochi. As per the fee structure on the website, Kochi-based Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences has declared a fee of Rs 15 lakh per seat. The highest fee out of the lot is charged by Dr D.Y. Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai, at Rs 25 lakh while Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, which is one of the oldest in the country, has a fee of Rs 10.30 lakh. The SDU Medical College, Kolar, Karnataka, has the lowest fee of the lot at Rs 9,00,000. As studying medicine in India gets tougher due to limited seats and high capitation fee, a number of medical aspirants check out the options abroad to become qualified doctors. Although taking the overseas route in the healthcare industry has been in prevalence for quite some time, over the past few years there has been an average increase of about 10-15 percent increase in the number of students going abroad for studying medicine.STUDY MBBS IN RUSSIA Universities in RussiaWhy Indian students choose Russian medical schools MBBS Admission 2017: Unified Fee Structure For Private Medical Colleges

StudyAbroad: Preliminary figures show Canada is set to see double digit growth in international student enrolments
The country’s low currency, welcoming immigration policies and streamlined visa processing for key markets are finally starting to pay off, according to educators. So much so that many in metropolitan areas are now running into capacity constraints.
“Even if Clinton had won the election, we would still be seeing the same number of students in Canada this year that we are seeing now,” said Mike Walkey, managing director of ELS Canada.
At ELS’s two language schools in Vancouver and Toronto, Walkey
expects enrollments to be up 20% on last year, giving a major bump to the group’s growth trajectory.
“Even if Clinton had won the election, we would still be seeing the same number of students in Canada this year that we are seeing now”
Canada’s done a lot of really good, really smart things recently, particularly with immigration and pathways and work rights, that have helped raise its profile overall
,” he said. “Canada has always had a reputation for being welcoming and safe, but I think that’s echoing with people more than ever now.”
Statistics from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada show the country saw an 18% increase in international students to 414,285
as of December 2016 compared to 2015’s year-end data. The country is on
track to reach its 2022 goal of doubling international students to 450,000
“as early as this year”, according to an IRCC representative at the recent BCCIE summer conference in Kelowna.
China continues to be the country’s largest source country but
India and Vietnam saw the biggest gains in 2016: a whopping 57% and 55%, respectively.
“Vietnam is an example of good synchronization with the sector and government policy,” said Walkey, referring to the Canada Express Study Program rolled out in Vietnam last year. “Numbers have gone way up, I’ve heard it’s going to become the third biggest nationality, especially for colleges.”
With short courses (two years) and direct routes to employment after graduation, colleges have also absorbed the growth in Indian students. “Our number one source country right now is India, and they’re choosing Canada
Director of international education & development, Beatty said that more than pulling students from the US, the college is attracting students from the UK. “Over the last three or four years we’ve had students that are originally from Nigeria, from Vietnam, even from India, who have gone to the UK, they’ve done a degree or a diploma in the UK,
but because there’s no postgraduate work option or long-term immigration option they come to Canada
,” he said. Higher education institutions expect to see major growth this year as well.
Canadian schools offer to international students: a high-quality education in a safe and tolerant country that is competitively priced when compared to similar institutions around the world.
The
ability to get a work permit after graduation as well as possibly permanent residency is also very appealing.
Because there’s no postgraduate work option or long-term immigration option in the UK, they come to Canada
The value of the
Canadian dollar is also a major contributing factor to Canada’s desirability.
It’s a significant element.
