Let's do a JSAMN fanfic exchange!

So I am writing this post to see how many JSAMN fans will like to participate in a fanfic exchange. My intention is to make an event in which people request something they would like to read such as a ship, a story idea, a worldbuilding detail, etc... and offer to write somebody something they request. There are already a few people in the JSAMN Readalong server who have expressed their excitement for such a fic exchange and said they would like to participate in it.

I am writing this post to ask two things:

Whether you (JSAMN fans) will like to participate in such an event as a writer and how you will prefer it to be (any specific idea).

Whether anybody wants to mod this event. Besides me, there is already another person who expressed interest in modding this event. However, because of irl stuffs and our lack of experience, we hope to find somebody with experience or some understanding of how fic exchange events tend to be run. What would you guys consider the worst movie you've ever seen? Not something that's fun to make fun of, nothing you ironically enjoyed, I mean just an absolutely miserable moviegoing experience that you paid for, hated every second, and wish you had walked out of and asked for a refund.

For me, no joke, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. It did not even feel like a real movie to me. It made me see red! I was SEETHING with anger and annoyance throughout the entire thing, and I cannot for the life of me articulate why. I saw it once in 2012 when I was 15, I remember almost nothing about it now, but it struck a nerve with me like no other movie ever has before or since.

Tell me in the tags, which movie makes you disproportionately angry just thinking about it?

Late-Night Calls

lying in bed, phone next to them on the pillow

speaking in hushed voices, so no one gets woken up

pressing a hand on their mouth, to stifle their laughter

talking about a million things and nothing

having their guard down and being open with each other

imagining the other person next to them in the dark

missing the other person even more than during the day

first calling just to say good night, but it turns into hours

wanting to be the last person the other hears at night

not wanting to hang up, they both try to stay awake

finally, one falling asleep, leaving the other person to fall asleep to their breathing

Let me tell you, I've taken lots of vacations by myself, and I've also taken lots of vacations with other people, and by far vacationing solo is the easiest, most stress-free vacation you can imagine. There's some kind of societal stigma against this. Ignore this. Vacationing by yourself is amazing. There is zero negotiation or compromise. You do exactly what you want to do when you want to do it. You eat whatever you want to eat, whenever you want to eat it. You pursue whatever tourist attraction you want, or none at all. It is the purest release from all obligations and responsibilities. You don't need to worry about whether anyone else is walking faster than you or slower than you and you've lost them in a crowd, did they want to do something different, have you railroaded them into doing what you want to do?

And it's easier to buy solo tickets to things. It's easier to squeeze into crowded bars. Everything about it is just so incredibly relaxing. Don't let society talk you out of it. It's obviously good to socialize and have friends and family who you want to hang out with and see, etc., etc., and it's okay if traveling solo just doesn't appeal to you at all. I'm just saying, I was just on vacation with people, and I had a great time, but we were out to dinner at the hotel restaurant and at the table next to us was a woman by herself having a glass of wine and eating spinach and artichoke dip for dinner while she read a novel and I was just like, honestly, I know that kind of dinner and it's so great lol. If you've ever wondered what it's like to travel solo, it's like that: dip for dinner and a glass of wine and a book lol

one of the most infuriating things about becoming an adult is when you realize that it actually is 10x easier to solve problems by making a phone call vs literally any other communication method
