This is my Flight Rising related side blog, with some lore things, some sale things, and maybe eventually some art. My main blog is not-a-geek, and on Flight Rising I'm AliceFlutez (#142364)

Oldies Lair Cleanout
Back in the game for the first time in a few years, and I'd rescued a ton of gen ones from becoming fodder before my hiatus, so they're now all a few years old. Got a forum post listing them all so come check them out!

gimme some lore of a tundra that is like… orphaned or abandoned as an egg or something and found by a clan of gaolers and the gaolers raise it like one of their own despite the fact that it’s smaller and weaker and doesn’t have a great memory
and the tundra KNOWS all this about itself so it works really really hard to live up to expectations but it keeps think it’s not quite as good…
until it meets a clan of tundras for the first time in its life and it’s fucking JACKED, like, we’re talking the Alex Louis Armstrong of tundras, and all the other tundras are like ‘oh my god you’re so buff and so hot please stay and protect our modest little village’

You know, sometimes I think about how one day in 2015, FR devs went “listen what if we add different colors to our colors” and so PoiTox were created and pretty much started a completely new era in Flight Rising gene/dragon design. I may not be a huge fan of PoiTox themselves but I always appreciate them for being the genes that started the “accent” gene trend.
(Also I now realized that PoiTox are almost 5 years old and my brain does a bad job processing that)

“The Starfall Isles, once low rolling plains and small islands lined with glimmering shores, were transformed into a skyline of crystalline peaks and listlessly rotating earth streaked in bolts of pure magic. “
- The Starfall Isles, World Map
______________________________________________________________
Arcane at a glance seems to be about otherworldly magic, dreams and space. This is not incorrect, in fact it’s where many arcane mages and scholars choose to study. But that is not all that Arcane magic is. Arcane magic is all magic, it’s pure magic. According to the legends, the Arcane flight’s diety was created from an amazing explosion of magical energies. An explosion of pure magic and mana.
Many Arcane dragons focus on harnessing the ‘default’ definition of Arcane: gravity spells, dream spells, bolts of pure energy. But that is not all that they can do.
An Arcane dragon can make a small flame. A rush of water. A gust of wind. It takes training. Hours upon hours and months upon months of training. But they can wrestle Arcane magic into whatever they need and want. Their lightning spell may not be as strong as a Lightning Mage’s but with dedication, they can do it. Their Envenom spell might never be as potent as a Nature dragon’s, but they can do it. It’s hard, taxing and time-consuming, especially for beginners. Sometimes Arcane dragons only ever learn to harness one type of mana in their lives. Sometimes, they never learn at all. It’s not an innate ability they are born with, it is one that has to be studied and learned. Arcane dragons are scholars after all. As such, the Arcanist is purely that- an arcanist. A being with secret knowledge of a manufacturing technique. He can turn his magic into whatever magic he needs. He doesn’t need to bring plagues or shake the earth, he can transform his magic to do that. He might not ever be able to compete with this siblings with their own magic, but he isn’t limited. He is free.
- The Arcane Flight’s Deity: Why He’s Name Simply “Arcanist”
