In many ways, I prefer my own company. It gives me time to think.

Don’t listen to your mind. It knows all your worst fears.
After some experiences and frustrations I realized that things are not so big and complicated as we first think they are. I still fight with it. At first I try not to give the importance that things seem to need. The mind always brings up our fears.
You sense that something is wrong. But do you fear being alone? Being rejected? Having no stability? Having no money? Loosing someone? Regretting a choice? Well, guess what... Your brain willl ALWAYS bring the best chaotic scnearios to make sure you won’t stop thinking, and believing, that!
It’s just absolutely counterintuitive. I can’t (and I actually wouldn’t even) explain the hole biologial, physiological system behind this magic (which is somehow fascinating for me). But that’s something I just learned: Go against your brain. Don’t listen to it. Just go. Somehow... Just do something.
It’s interesting how we think we need to be super rational, and well, we need to be rational in order to survive, but then we try to be as rational as we can and end up forgetting the most beautiful part of being alive: feelings.
We will try to plan our happiness and security (survival) and we’ll just supress the flame we have inside, until we feel an unknown discomfort. “This is the right job because it pays well, this is the right relationship because we care about each other, this is the right house because it’s near the town center”. But actually we’re not really satisfied. Why? We look for the reason of it and find nothing, so we keep pushing it until, for “no reason”, we explode! - Is it really necessary to go through?
Right answer: there are no reasons! There are feelings! Feelings which you’re just ignoring, or supressing, because of your brain trying to scare you: you’ll find no other job, you’ll loose everything, you’ll loose this special person forever, your parents will never talk to you again, you don’t want that, do you?
Don’t blame yourself. Our brain is a very primitive thing, and it only wants us to survive. We, as a complex species, created society, norms, rules, what’s right or wrong, blablabla... But our brain doesn’t care. It brings us fears to make us survive.
With time and experiences I'm learning to first ignore my mind, to endure the pain a little bit (hours or days, depending on the situation) and see what happens. Most of times, nothing was bad as I though it was. But then, if something keeps making me uncomfortable: I just do something to try to solve it. To talk, to ask, to stay, to go, to reflect... One thing is for sure, I just don't want to waste time worrying and being somewhere (physically or mentally) I don't really want to be. I don’t like the idea of wasting time, because time is life (not money) after all. Loosing, changing, hurting or getting hurt is an unavoidable part of the process.
But we should focus on what we’ll GAIN afterwards, and say that to our brain! Beginning by a huge feeling of freedom. All we have is our time. If there's something you can do to change whatever is bothering you, just do it. Just do something. Just start somewhere!
It's easier said than done, right? But look, I'm just trying to be the helpfull outside voice here. To show you that I've been there. We all have been there. Lots of people in the hole world already been through what you're going through and it’s fine! Just realize that it's not a big deal.
I don't know, resisting to take risks is useless. Being too rational to fight life... Life just happens, things just happen we wishing it or not. Why not just embrace it? To try it? Don’t resist if it’s MOSTLY because of fears.
Life won't be perfect. But there are problems that are worth, that give us joy to go through when we analyse the outcomes. So we just have to focus on these kind of problems and say to our brain to shut up a little bit.
Remember: “life is what happens when we’re busy... being too DAMN RATIONAL”! - Me.
Just some thoughts.

It's super impressive how the little things make me happy. Wearing the same boots for eight years, having an old Kombi Van, being able to build a garden, having breakfast in the yard during a nice cold weather, spending time with people that truly matter...
Can't deny that some things and people are missing in between. But that would just make everything complete. It would be absolutely awesome if my sister + husband were here, I miss them everyday. But life's a crazy thing, nothing has to be forever and everything is an experience.
We just need to enjoy it the most and focus on the essential, what and who brings us this feeling of belonging, of peace and fulfillment. "The rest is the rest".
As Mumford and Sons sing: in these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die, where you invest your love you invest your life.
Just some thoughts.
