Round 2 of logo explorations for Symmetry.  I'm leaning towards the top middle one at this point, but it needs to be fine tuned a bit more.

I thought I would blog my process as I create the elements of my senior graphic design project.  I've already done quite a bit of background work as far as coming up with concepts and researching, and I thought it would be good to show how the whole thing develops from several different ideas and elements into one cohesive project.

For our projects, the idea is to come up with a product or service, name it, brand it, and create several elements to promote it.  Your brand basically determines what those elements will be, but some basics would be brochures, website, business cards, etc.   Those elements can be more specific and unique however.

I came up with a nonprofit that builds houses for those in need (think habitat for humanity for example); however these houses would be energy efficient and built with sustainable technology in order to offset the harmful effects of wasted energy and wasted resources on the environment.  This company also builds playgrounds or play spaces for children while keeping the idea of sustainability in mind.

I named this organization Symmetry.  The idea is creating balance.  Balance in the environment by saving and restoring what you can and offsetting the impact of what you can't.  Balance also applies to the idea of providing stability and structure in the lives of the people who these houses would be built for.

This is the first round of logo drafts, so you can see how this brand develops from beginning to end.
