no but really, like
i know that some folks love telling creative people that “you should be doing it for fun because you love it not for the compliments” but creative people thrive on feedback whether it’s critical or just complimentary
so when i write fanfiction and don’t get any actual feedback i feel like i spent all that time and energy doing it for nothing because i’m not getting feedback from the people i wrote it for
doing something you’re proud of and then presenting it to the sound of utter silence is like the worst feeling on earth

This entire book played out like an animated movie in my head so i had to draw the characters as if they were in one 🌊✨

Jane Austen really said ‘I respect the “I can fix him” movement but that’s just not me. He’ll fix himself if knows what’s good for him’ and that’s why her works are still calling the shots today.

Sorry to be an ugly fun-killer but in light of the recent Invasion I urge you all to be mindful of the things you reblog and the memes that you repost. Please remember that behind every "world war 3 lmao" post there is a reality where real people are going to be displaced from their homes and are going to lose their lives.
Before you laugh at that tweet that talks about the draft or whatever ask yourself: are you laughing because it's funny? or are you laughing because you're safe and comfortable in the West and it's not a direct problem for you?

this is my personal view but with the rise of all these apps for us to showcase aspects of ourselves our style our face our opinions on books movies shows playlists instagram twitter tumblr tiktok letterboxd goodreads spotify I feel as if every single aspect of one’s personality has to be cohesive we must showcase that we have good taste we read good books we watch good movies everything we do is up to some weird standard idk it feels like everything we do has to be digestable to other people and we are all putting on silly hats everyday and putting on a show like we have to have opinions on everything those opinions must somehow be linked to how we dress and what music we listen to the point where we have people being so fearful of being seen as having bad taste or being seen enjoying something that isn’t well liked idk man this is a lot I just feel like we weren’t meant to live these weird curated lives like existing liking weird ass music and bad movies with no plot like what must we even market ourselves to be desireable and like perfect in every aspect

“That's the power of literature, you know, it can act like little love letters between two people who can only explain their feelings by pointing at other people's.”

“First of all,” I [January] said, “‘Bridget fucking Jones’ is an ongoing series. It is literally the worst example you could have chosen to prove that point. It’s the antithesis of the oversimplified and inaccurate stereotype of the genre. It does exactly what I aim to do: it makes its readers feel known and understood, like their stories - women’s stories - matter.”
Oh, this book. I wrote all my feelings about it and my own personal writing struggles on my blog.

I love this book so much it hurts. And I really wasn’t sure if I would have these feelings towards it, but I do. I really do.
