You know, The Nanny Affair may be one of Pixelberry’s lighter books, but the characterizations of the twins? That is some exceptional writing. It isn’t easy to write children that don’t feel like caricatures — the spoiled step child, the patience-testing trouble maker, the unrealistic angel. But these kids feel…real. They think stuffed animals make perfect gifts for CEOs, and pepper us with questions about termites. And I’ve honestly been totally caught off guard by both how much I love them and the skill of the person who wrote them.
