My name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. But you can Just call me Hiccup. I live in Berk, where it snows 9 months out of the year, and hails the other 3. Any food that grows here is tough and tasteless. The people that grow here are even more so. The only upsides are the pets. While other places have ponies or, parrots... we have... dragons. Hiccup watched on Pitch, on edge as the other knight threw blows at him, "Come on, Pitch... Focus.. You can do this.." He muttered under his breath. Once the man landed on his back, Hiccup knew Pitch had won the first round. Before he was able to let out a breath of relief, Hiccup noticed Pitch wince, and limp slightly as he left the arena. He was hurt. As quickly as he could, Hiccup took of for the tent.

He took up his position in the ring and adjusted his grip on the hilt. A horn sounded for the start and Pitch watched as the man started forward. Wait. Wait. Wait. Breathe. Take in what moves. Weak right which would benefit the lefty. Stutter in his step so move quickly and he won’t be able to keep up, footwork wise. Breathe. Wait. He’s tensing for and attack. Pitch reacted quickly and blocked then counter attacked before the blow was being lifted. The man side stepped a good portion of it but the blade still landed a hit. Pitch withdrew and sidestepped then took another quick swipe, moving gracefully.
The fight continued for another few blows before the man was on his back with Pitch’s sword at his neck. He winced. He’d been hit in the leg and knew there’d be a nasty bruise later if nothing else.

The moment Pitch had left the tent, Hiccup raced around through the back of it, and hurried to the stands to watch. As confident in Pitch as Hiccup was, he was still nervous for him as well. Some of the best fighters in the kingdom were there to accept the challenge. He knew a bit about who was going to be in it, because Astrid had been complaining about them, and how it was unfair she couldn't join the tournament as well.
As Hiccup finally made his way to the stands, he sat and watched as the battles continued, and waited until he saw Pitch take the arena, "I believe in you.." He muttered under his breath, as he saw Pitch enter.

"Excellent in actual battle, yes. The politics bit doesn’t make much sense but I need this. I have to move up." He had a daughter to take care of and a nanny to pay to help raise her while he was away. Pitch needed all of the help he could get. “Thank you though Hiccup." He smiled and grabbed his sword and helmet. Sword play now. Jousting this evening and tomorrow… Too much to keep up with. “Ready then?"

Hiccup nodded, "Knock 'em dead." He was confident in both Pitch's skill, and his armor. He knew Pitch would be a force to reckon with. Hiccup was the best blacksmith in the kingdom, so naturally he had the utmost confidence in it's defense. Hiccup was well aware of everything Pitch had at stake.
"I know you'll do great. We all do." He smiled, referring to to him and Pitch's daughter.

Hiccup glanced up at Pitch, a small smirk crossing his face, "You have no need to be nervous. You are an excellent knight, and this tournament will only prove that." As he finished adjusting Pitch's chest plate, he stood back, admiring his work, "Armor fit for a king!" He said with a grin, "You'll do great."

"Haddock! I need you to help me get my armor back on." Pitch stumbled into his tent, looking out of sorts with his chest plate skewed. He looked helpless. The usually composed, young man was disheveled more than he’d ever been. Nerves were getting to him and there was no way in heck anyone was going to see it outside of this tent. Especially his men. They could never see him nervous, no matter the situation.
Maybe on his wedding day if he ever managed to get that far with anyone…that was understandable.
This was not the time to be nervous however.
"Please?" he pleaded quietly.

"I'm sure it did." Hiccup mused with a small chuckle, "So, Jack, care to tell me what brings you here?" he asked curiously. It wasn't unusual to see Jack around every now and then, but Hiccup was always curious as to what the winter spirit was up to.

Hiccup jumped at the sudden intrusion, "Y-yes of course." He fumbled around, confused as to why Pitch had seemed so disheveled. He quickly gathered up the armor, and began to place it securely onto Pitch, "What's troubling you?" He asked quietly. This behavior was highly unusual for a knight, but especially for Pitch. Hiccup knew something was going on.
