It's time to start signups for this year’s Alchemy of Thiefshipping event!

We’re not sure how much interest there is this year, so we’re going to say that unless at least 5 people sign up, we won’t continue with the event.

If you’re not familiar with it, Alchemy of Thiefshipping is an event for Thiefshipping/Citronshipping fanfiction and fanart!

Both authors and artists will sign up, and then each author will be paired with an artist who will draw fanart based on the author’s fanfic!

Last year’s theme was magic. This year’s theme is: happy endings!

So we’re only looking for stories where, no matter how much angst happens along the way, our favorite couple gets a Happily Ever After in the end!

If you’d like to sign up, please send a message to this blog noting whether you’d like to sign up as an author or an artist.

Author signups will run through June. Artist signups will run through July.

For writers, a basic summary of your story will be due August 1. During the month of August, we will pair up authors and artists. Throughout September, authors will work on their rough drafts, and rough drafts will be due October 1. During October, artists will work on their art and writers can get their stories betaed (let us know if you need a beta) and finish up the final draft of their stories.

Posting of both art and fics will happen on November 1, so all art and fics need to be done by then.

Fics will be posted on AO3, so you must have an AO3 account to participate in this event as a writer. (If you don’t currently have an AO3 account, it’s free to sign up but it usually takes about a week or two before the site will send you a code to activate your account.) Once fics are posted on AO3, authors may post them to any other sites they wish to in addition. While fics must be complete by November 1, authors do not have to post the entire fic at once on AO3; they can post chapter by chapter.

Artists may post their art wherever they want, but they must send a link to the art to their author so that the author may include the art itself or a link to the art in their fic on AO3. AO3 does allow NSFW, so NSFW art IS allowed for this event. If the art is SFW and the artist chooses to post it on Tumblr, this blog will reblog it. This blog will also post links to all Alchemy fics on AO3 on November 1.

Thiefshipping, Citronshipping, Feefshipping (Abridged Thiefshipping) and FemThief/FemCitron are all allowed! Both canon-universe and AU fics are allowed. Please no fics pairing Malik and/or Bakura with characters besides each other—this is an event for Thief/Citron, not for Torn, Fracture, Eclipse, etc. Other pairings not involving Malik or Bakura are allowed as long as Thief/Citron is the main focus of the fic. Angst is allowed but please nothing where Malik or Bakura rape or abuse each other and no sad endings. Any rating from G to E is allowed. Both SFW and NSFW art is allowed.

My partner was @cardiaccrisis and is for their fic, Akh to the Future!  Please give it a read!!  I had a lot of fun trying to draw their very detailed Bakura and I hope he’s as fun and crazy as you imagined <3

Sorry I’m a bit late, but I finally finished my submission for Alchemy of Thiefshipping!

It’s based of the fic Forbidden Scriptures by Supersteffy, which is a really sweet NSFW fic that was fun to read and illustrate!

This was my first time drawing something quite so nsfw so it was a bit of a challenge.

Summary: “This isn’t a thing of you having bad mental health. This is an illness. You need to treat it right, or it just gets worse.”

Bakura and Malik are perfectly normal people, with a perfectly functional relationship and perfectly good mental health, and perfectly fine temperments. If they said perfectly one more time, you might have even believed them. But that’s the thing - they didn’t.

Hey guys! Here’s my contribution to the Alchemy of Thiefshipping group! A friend drew this amazing cover for me because I still post things to wattpad and I wanted to share it on here, but the artist I was working with for this was @thiefkingyall and holy shit you guys are going to fucking love their art - it looks fantastic! I’ve had this idea for a while and I’m glad I finally got the opportunity to write it, so I really hope you enjoy it!

Unfortunately official sign ups for artists were in September back when writers were first working on their stories.

~But~ if you’ve been reading the stories and there’s one that you particularly love, please draw fan art for it! You can tag alchemy of thiefshipping and send us a link so we can reblog it for you! 

Or if there’s a multi-chaptered story that you think you might want to draw a pic for, you can message me (@sitabethel, I’m one of the mods for the project), and I could message the writer for you and see if they’d want to share the complete story with you early for the sake of artwork (spoiler alert, I’m sure they’d be delighted to give an artist an early preview of their fic in exchange for an art piece). 

So just b/c you’re late for the party, plz don’t let that discourage you from jumping in and participating! There can never be enough thiefshipping art!

Here’s my piece for the @alchemy-of-thiefshipping project! A little late, sneaking in just under the wire of the due date, PHEW!

My piece was for @thedisposablevillain ‘s fic, When I Said, “Someone Fuck Me,” I Didn’t Mean Life which is stellar and you should all drop whatever you’re doing to go read it!

A bit of a spoiler for a later chapter but a cute scene I couldn’t help but feel for. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did reading, all the artists and writers worked so hard the past few months!
