Yūnosuke Itō (Ikiru)— God I am having the very devil of a time finding actual video clips of the disasterfail novelist he plays in Ikiru. But from Wikipedia, here's someone talking about his scrungliness: the "horse-faced actor...was a real chameleon, despite his instantly recognizable, distinctive features..." In Ikiru his drunken, dilapidated, unnamed novelist is one of the characters our protagonist encounters as he processes a fatal cancer diagnosis; he drags the protagonist out for a wild night on the town. He's sad and funny and deeply scrungly.

Cab Calloway (Stormy Weather, Hi De Ho)—TRULY THE SCRUNGLIEST. Nobody ever did it like him, your honor. The music, the dance moves, the hair, the unbridled charisma that comes across just the slightest bit unhinged. If I had to build the pillars of scrungle, they would be as follows: talent, showmanship, sportingness, and absolute commitment to the bit, all of which Cab Calloway has in SPADES. He was a great actor, a great singer, AND a great bandleader. Truly, nobody was doing it like him, before or since.

While I'm really glad for Octavia to call Stolas out for his actions and for not being there for her when she needs him, but I can't help but feel even more sorry for her now that she has to live with her mother and uncle, who are just as abusive to her. I'm sorry, but the hate for Octavia has gone way too far this time. Octavia really deserves better than this.

Now that that's out of the way, Time to vent out my frustrations.

Vivienne, I'm more than mad, I'm furiously disappointed. I really am. You had a very creative setup for an indie animated series. You had all these characters. And what did you do? You completely squandered everything about it.

Helluva Boss has so much potential going on, and it all went to waste all because of one certain character that Viv and the team loves more than anything and will do anything to make everybody fall in love with, and that's Stolas, the manufactured Tumblr Sexyman that's been given too much screen devotion to, turning him from an interesting yet creepy character to a pathetic uwu sob baby prince who needs sympathy, it becomes increasingly desperate. That's exactly my main problem with the show. It's SO DESPERATE! Desperate to make everybody love the show because of their "breakout" star. Desperate to gain more fans. The problem is that Stolas and the relationship between Blitzø and Stolas is the main reason why the show is failing. It's so laser-focused on them that the show has completely abandoned the original premise of Imps from Hell are running a murder business, and they have to go to the human world to kill whoever did wrong to the victim. Honestly, I would rather watch the original premise rather than this sappy soap opera fanfic that Helluva Boss has completely become as of right now.

If this is what Viv and the team wanted, well then.

Yes, I'm done watching Helluva Boss. It just isn't worth watching anymore. There are much better shows and movies to watch right now. Watch The Amazing Digital Circus. It's very good.

Villains inspired by Cab Calloway my beloved:

Like honestly, these villains have the most entertaining personalities and gimmicks/themes I've seen.

I love how even though they share the same inspiration, they each have unique character designs.

Note Oogie is the oldest villain here, so when you think about it, he's like the blueprint for Dr. Facilier and King Dice.

(I mean they literally took two pieces of the theming from Oogie and split it amongst King Dice and Dr. Facilier)

Dude was so good at being bad, he set the bar in the little 15 minutes of screen time he had.
