Heya guys!!! It's been a while since I last updated this blog, huh?

Far too long in my humble opinion

That's a pretty fair assessment in my opinion. Sorry about that y'all haha ^^'. Anyway, as an excuse for my absence I thought I would go over what's changed in my life.

First off: I'm finally on the anti-anxiety medication that I needed!!! It took a while to get reffered and go through the motions but I finally have them :D. This is huge because I'm one step closer to living my life normally instead of the way I have been for the past 4 years. I've been focusing the past few months on my mental health recovery instead of my online activity which is why I have been inactive for a bit.

I'm very happy that she's doing better

The next thing is that I'm finally in my last year of high school. I'm in England, so I have to take exams known as GCSEs. They're basically the tests that get you into college depending on your grades. They're a huge deal over here because if you don't do well then your further education options are limited. Therefore, I have to revise super hard this year. More than I ever used to. I do them in June/July and then I leave high school which is a super exciting prospect!!! I'm not too sure what comes after that but I'm sure I'll find my way.

She's been watching too much Waterloo road and wants to become a teacher but she won't admit that.

That's about it!!! I'm gonna be more active from now on I promise ^^ until then, see y'all later :)

When I was a kid my mom came back with this book called "The golden compass". She asked the librarian for a book that was Harry Potter-like. I'm still not certain why that librarian gave my mom Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' but I'm so glad he did. I loved it, devoured it. Even though I wasn't able to understand the deeper meanings of the text I was so hyped by a female, same-age protagonist, charmed by armoured bears and cuts between worlds and I was so fucking scared of this woman. Mrs Coulter was as dreadful as Voldemort to me, if not even worse.

Nowadays I happen to reread it every once in a while, but I still feel melancholic when I think about the pure thrill and enjoyment of the very first, innocent reading.

🌙Ok I'm bringing this post back from the depths of hell because I think its some of the best headcanons I've came up with and I'm a sucker for dæmon separation haha. I think I would probably be one of those scientists at Bolvangar if I was in the canon universe. That sounds bad but I just find the whole thing so fascinating!🌙

Ok so dæmon seperation is a concept I don’t see a lot of people touch on which makes me sad. So here have some shitty headcanons:

Seperated dæmons can no longer experience things with their humans. Before everything they felt was connected but now it’s detached. They each have their own experiences. Because of this seperated dæmons don’t fully die when their human does? However with nobody around to look out for them most of them get lost out in the world and inevitably perish.

Sometimes seperated dæmons will just wander off without warning and never return. Wether they’ve been kidnapped or simply tried to escape a broken bond with the human who was once theirs nobody will know. There’s rumors spread around that there’s a group of people who search for these daemons to kidnap however nobody can say for sure…

Back in the past some militaries made seperation mandatory for their soldiers. The theory was that without the added worry of their dæmon they would be more efficient at their job. It didn’t work out that way though and it was deemed too barbaric to use on such a large scale ever again

Seperated dæmons look almost translucent. They’re ghostlike and appear to ‘float’ above surfaces instead of being able to walk on them. This has something to do with a large amount of their matter being lost during seperation however there’s been little research into it.

it’s inevitable organisations would form around this practice. Imagine a cult who uses it as a form of initiation. Sort of like a blood oath. And when the new recruits have been severed from their dæmons they’re passed around randomly then given to random people. Like an obscene pass the parcel you end up with a dæmon you’ve never even talked to let alone want to spend the rest of your life with. The new members are kept apart to make sure they don’t swap back because even though they’re severed the emotional connection is still there. Many die after the stress of all of this.

🌙Some modern AU Dæmon headcanons!🌙

💫Teen magazines that have "What will your dæmon settle as?" Quizzes. Usually in teenage girl magazines that offer forms that are traditionally feminine. Of course, these predictions are usually bogus because you can't determine someone's true identity through a few basic questions but they never stop shoving them in anyway. Cue a lot of people being disappointed they ended up with a completely different form than what they had predicted.

💫News reporters that have bird Dæmons capable of hovering above to get the best angle for news footage. I like to imagine that they have cameras attached to them to record things that their human counterparts are unable to capture.

💫Waiters at restaraunts using their Dæmons to help carry extra trays/plates. Some employees get creative so you see a lot of dog or feline Dæmons with things balanced on their heads or a bird dæmon trying to carry a plate far bigger than their body.

💫Cosplayers at conventions dressing their dæmon up to look like the dæ of the fictional character. Sometimes it's achievable whilst other times it's a stretch and looks downright laughable. As a result of this, to appease fans a lot of characters in tv shows or media have Dæmons that aren't settled which gives fans leeway on how they choose to represent them in fan works/cosplay. However, this also leads to a lot of wars on what exactly a character's dæ would settle as and a heck ton of theories. You can't appease everyone I suppose.

💫police officers with smaller dæs having special training to learn how to deal with an opponent that has a much bigger dæmon in combat. It's hard which dissuades a lot of people from joining the force but not totally unachievable with the right amount of dedication.

💫Dæmons in music has became a sort of phenomenon in newer years with a lot of dæs singing or doing backup vocals. Nobody quite knows when it became so popular but it's spreading across the music industry like wildfire with some dæs even singing solo.

💫In light of recent accusations, new bills have been passed that no longer allow employers to discriminate against someone just because of their dæmon's form. This is a huge victory for people with forms that are seen as "undesirable" or have a certain stigma associated with them. Although it still has a long way to go before this bias is completely eradicated.

I find it kinda funny that I'm a taxidermy enthusiast and my dæmon settled as a vulture. Like nature's bone cleaners! I love that haha, the symbolism is great XD. Vultures are super underrated tbh my mum loves them for some reason. Like mother like daughter I suppose.

I always find it funny when books like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson get crap for being ‘witchcraft’ and ‘anti-christian’ but you know who no one ever talks about? Phillip Pullman and his masterpiece His Dark Materials trilogy. Some of you may recognize the first book’s title, The Golden Compass from the awful movie adaption, but seriously those books are so so good and full of badass witches rebelling against the vadican for mutilating children, gay ass angels who join the rebellion so they can be free to love each other, an ex nun who escapes the oppression of the church to pursue a life of science, a little girl who is so good at manipulating she overthrows an entire empire in one day, and a 12 year old boy who murders god with a knife

💫 children's dæs helping their human counterparts smuggle snacks up to their room. Thus ensues fluffy dæs hiding biscuits in their fur and taking forever to get the crumbs out.

💫Dæmons at weddings! I wouldn't imagine that they would be fully dressed up or anything but perhaps some type of accessory or ring for them to symbolise the occasion?

💫A shy kid who's dæ takes on larger forms to scare bullies away. On the flipside, a bully who has a relatively small dæmon that everyone is intimidated by. Maybe a poison bullfrog or wasp?

💫A kid wondering why their dæmon is the same sex as them all their childhood and then realising their sexuality when they grow older (I can't remember if this was a canon concept or not but I still kinda like it haha)

💫An artist losing their tablet pen and their dæ helping to search for it. Same goes for rubbers too.

💫Taking another shot at this💫

So hey there🌙I haven't been active in forever nor been on tumblr in a while so I figured I might as well bring back this blog. After all it was one if the only things keeping me happy when it was originally made so this is a revival.

I had a pretty hard OCD and anxiety relapse. My anxiety has always been bad but my OCD relapse after I finished CBT really hit me hard. I gave up on dæmonism for a bit but these past few weeks have really reminded me how much I needed it in my life. I'm on the road to getting proper medication however until then I want to try and heal as best I can with Alacanth by my side.

Good news btw! We're settled! He's been an Egyptian vulture for forever now and it really fits us so that's good. Hence the whole theme change to properly reflect that. That's all I have to say really. Have a great day ^^

We visited some sort of museum for modern arts today and i got inspired
