Stupid idea that came to me while eating my sandwich.
What if Tommy and Abby had a child and it's why he finally decided to leave her and live his truth, so his kid can be proud of him someday.
And everything goes like in the show, but with Abby having a kid. And Buck loves them, he's so good with kids. He even talks about making another kid with Abby but it's way too soon so she laughs it off.
When she leaves for Europe the kid goes to stay with Tommy and it's hard at first, and Buck can't see him anymore and his life goes on while Tommy's life changes because now he's a single father. Time passes, everybody is happy and the kid decides to stay with Tommy when Abby comes back, refusing to leave LA.
Fast forward, Tommy and Buck are on a date and Tommy tells him about his kid and he shows Buck a photo and Buck's heart just drops.

They sit in silence. Evan — Buck — came here on his own volition, so Tommy waits for him to speak.
When he speaks, it's…
“I don't know what I need to say to you. Everyone was telling me that I have to come, apologize for rushing into things, for not seeing the real you, for putting you on a pedestal,”
Tommy flinches. It feels like needles in his fucking heart.
“Lucy said that, Chimney said that, Sal said that...”
“Sal? Sal de Luca? When did he call you?”
Evan turns to Tommy, and Tommy swallows all words and all sounds. Evan looks… He doesn't look like a person who came to fight for the future. He looks… Pissed, actually.
Tommy has never seen him angry. Really angry, the kind that burn alive you and all people around.
“They all said that I have to come to you and make you come back. But what the fuck, Tommy? What else can I say to you? I already told you that I want future with you. Living together, marriage someday. I fucking told you that. The only person in all thirty years that I have seen future with. The only person who I believed can love me for all I am and not get tired in ten years. Yeah, should have asked Eddie to remind me that I'm an idiot.”
“Evan, you are not…”
“Why do I need to convince you to be with me? To believe me when I literally say that I like you and admire you and want to be with you? Because I, a fucking idiot, was thinking that I already did all of this, for half a year. Six months, Tommy. Six months of my life. What did you think we did for those six months? Oh, yes, sorry. You thought that I was just playing with a new, shiny toy. Because I'm an idiot and a child who doesn't know what he wants. Who doesn't think that his boyfriend of six months play some role or wear some... Some sort of mask. Who hides like all of his actual personality and fears. Who doesn't know that he can't just believe this boyfriend's words and actions. That he needs to pry and dig to find out the real Tommy. I didn't know that for six months I've been failing this fucking quest, so, yes, I'm so sorry for that.”
Tommy wants to say something. To scream back. To defend himself — he never said that, he never asked for that, he never meant that.
Except…
Except.
“I don't know why I'm here,” Evan rubs his face, stands, breathes deeply and shakily. “Peer pressure, I guess. Everyone was telling me that I have to speak to you and we can make up. But then I saw you and I remembered what you said, and I got angry. So angry.”
“You can be angry.”
“I didn't ask you for permission!” Evan literally barks back, and Tommy shuts his mouth.
He has never seen Evan so angry. So angry that he is ready to bite, to hurt back. He thinks, for the first time since the break up.
What if Evan is not the only one who has never seen the dirty and unpleasant sides of his boyfriend?
“I wanted a future with you, Tommy. Want. Wanted. Whatever. But I also have some scars from love. And these scars taught me that I shouldn't beg people to love me. To never leave me. That I shouldn't waste myself for their improvement. So. So.”
He shakes all over, but his eyes are dry.
“This is me telling you that I'm not coming here again. I'm not going to call you or ask you to talk, and I'm not going to ask for forgiveness. All that I did was loving you, and if I did it wrong it's not my fault, because you never said how you needed to be loved. And I already told you what I want from you. So. You need to decide what you want from me and how you want to get it. If you want it.“
Evan falters. His fire turns to embers, his anger turns to mist sparkling in his eyes. It's Tommy's turn to shake — from the want to reach out, soothe, make everything better.
Tommy was shaking from this want for weeks since the break up. Is it too late?
Evan is going to the door. Evan is leaving.
Tommy reaches for his hand.

At the park, Jaskier runs into his ex from college, and it’s awful! Geralt is somehow even hotter, funnier, and sweeter than he remembers. And he’s got a fucking child, which probably means there’s a partner somewhere around here.
Jaskier tries his best to be polite and nice—especially to Geralt’s kid—but he can feel Geralt’s eyes burning holes in his skull.
All at once, Jaskier is reminded that it’s HIS fault they broke up. He was too needy and annoying and eccentric. Too much.

Geralt runs into his ex from college, and it’s awful! Jaskier is somehow even more beautiful, kind, and witty than he remembers. And he probably doesn’t have the baggage that a divorced, single dad like Geralt has.
Geralt tries not to openly stare, but it’s hard. Jaskier is captivating. Especially when he’s being so good with Geralt’s kid.
All at once, Geralt is reminded that it’s HIS fault they broke up. He was too taciturn and moody and downright mean at times. Not at all the kind of person Jaskier deserves.
"Let me guess, you ran into Jaskier?" Yennefer asked, her tone laced with dry amusement. She was Geralt’s ex-wife and Ciri’s mother, but despite their romantic history, they’d remained close friends. Their relationship had never quite worked out, but the bond was still there.
"How did you know?" Geralt asked, genuinely curious. Yennefer always seemed to have an uncanny ability to read him like an open book. It was a skill that left him both impressed and a little unsettled at times.
"You only ever get that look when Jaskier’s involved," Yennefer replied, raising an eyebrow. "You had it for an entire month when one of his songs went viral."
Geralt groaned, rubbing a hand over his face. "Is it that obvious?" he muttered.
"You mean the fact that you look like a kicked puppy?" Yennefer crossed her arms, smirking. "Yeah, it’s pretty obvious. So, what happened? Did you two talk? Awkward small talk? Did you at least tell him how devastatingly handsome he still is?"
Geralt shot her a half-hearted glare. "No, I didn’t mention that."
Yennefer rolled her eyes. "Maybe you should’ve. Then you wouldn’t be standing here sulking like some lovesick teenager."

Skill issue. They made Tommy pretty damn near perfect for Buck and they could do the same for Eddie if they tried.

Me for months: Tommy was set up as core to the Gerrard plot in season 8
Me when we got confirmation from Tim himself that Tommy is core to the Gerrard plot:

Eddie’s Season 8 mustache, which showrunner Tim Minear confirms to TVLine is a “manifestation of something that’s going on within him,” has taken social media by storm — but we’re sad to report that, like all good things, it won’t last forever. Minear says the emotional reason behind the ‘stache will be explored “in an episode where he shaves it off.” Speaking of mustaches, Buck has an especially difficult time bowing to Gerrard as the 118’s new captain. (“He’s awful, and he’s an awfully fun character to have in the mix.”) On the bright side, Buck’s relationship with Tommy is going strong (“They’re still getting to know each other a little better”), so at least he’ll have someone to complain to after a long day of putting up with his racist, sexist, homophobic boss. Meanwhile, Bobby becomes a technical advisor on a “ridiculous firefighter show that’s nothing like reality”; Councilwoman Ortiz will remain a thorn in Hen and Karen’s sides as they fight to get their foster care license reinstated; newlyweds Maddie and Chimney weigh the pros and cons of growing their own family; and the return of a familiar face from Athena’s past will force her to “deal with a seminal event in her canonical life.”
BONUS SPOILER!: The two recurring villains of Season 8, Captain Gerrard and Councilwoman Ortiz, are “connected in many ways,” Minear hints.
